I must say that my family and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were only there for a day but had enough time to enjoy all of the amenities of the hotel, which was very kid and family friendly. It was very nice I liked allbut one thing. I had never stayed oceanfront before so we picked this nice expensive room and I couldnt see the oceanfront because of the way the hotel was sitting and from their restaurant was blocking my room to the oceanfront. I got a great view or their pool but I can see those all the time I just wanted to see the ocean […] and it was inpossible because of Holliday Inn restaurant roof top. Loved our stay. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was so beautiful and so was our view. Our 2.5 year old had a blast in the indoor lazy river (too cold for outdoor swimming) and I enjoyed the hot tub:)

We loved all 3 of this hotel's pools.... Indoor lazy river was the best indoor pool and sitting out at the pool near the ocean, drinking our favorite beverage, was very relaxing!

Excellent Service - Perfect Location - Stayed in Dec 2011 and repeat stay April 2012. Will keep coming back as the suites are so spacious and hotel staff is very accommodating.

Enjoyed a wonderful stay with my 2 year old grandson. Great family hotel. One suggestion-bring your own pool towels-the towels at the pool are very small and the room towels are not soft. Other than that I liked everything else.

This is basically a good hotel in a good location. It is at the far end of the boardwalk with none of the typical boardwalk activities. Two biggest problems: the bed is rock-hard and there is not enough parking space when the hotel is near or at capacity.

Great choice for on-beach access in March. We didn't check out the kid-specific features like the mini-theater or the lazy river, but it looked pretty inviting and kid-friendly. Free valet parking is a nice extra.

A beautifully maintained hotel with lots happening. Indoor pool (water was a bit too cold for us), movies playing in the screening room, activities for kids everyday. My one complaint is that upon arrival, my friend and I were obviously struggling through the lobby with a luggage cart and two infants. We really enjoyed the indoor lazy river. Make sure to bring goggles and a tube as they are not provided. The chlorine was quite strong. We loved that our 4 children received a stupendous free buffet!! The kid center was great fun for our 7 and 8 year old. The worker there was great with kids and provided a lot for the kids to do. Had my daughters 13th birthday party here in two suites with ocean views. We all had a great time. They did have too much chlorine in the pool, it stung my eyes even before getting in the water. Movie theater was nice. Staff was friendly.

Our family enjoyed the experience that we had at the Holday Inn and Suites! Whatever you do stay away from the Courtyard Marriott, it does not live up to it's rating.

Came here for New Years' Eve. Watched the sunrise on New Years' Day. Easy access to the boardwalk and several restauraunts.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and met all of our needs. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet on the North End of the boardwalk. The food was great in both restaurants.

Very convenient for shopping and close to great restaurants. Recommend highly....we will use this hotel again!

Perfect suite accomidations for a family of four with young twins right on the beach. We went late in the season so just took to the beach, but they had wonderful hotel pool and children's play centers avaialble that we'll make use of next time we visit the beach.

The hotel itself was great. Convenient to everything. Room was comfortable. I just was not impressed with housecleaning service. I have been to plenty Holiday Inn's and never had one that they just cleaned around things. I feel they never wiped down the counters, furniture of phone from first day I was there. Noticed every day that it was dusty and […] nobody touched it. They did the basics, clean bathroom, throw garbage and make bed. Also somebody on my floor must have had room service and placed their dishes outside (which was by my room) and I had to look at it every time I left my room for over 24 hours. Yes, it sat there with old crusty food in the hallway for that long and housecleaning had been around and nobody picked it up. That was disgusting. Those 2 things were my only complaint. This was on of the few hotels on VA Beach that took a last minute reservation and for just one night. I'll admit that while the pictures looked good, I wasn't sure what to expect from a Holiday Inn. I am now a convert. Big room, ocean view from the balcony, fridge & microwave, and a beautiful bathroom. The best part were the pools. Both indoor and outdoor […] pools are beautifully designed and the lazy rivers are very enjoyable. The onsite restaurant, The Square Elephant, provided a great meal (kids eat free) right on the ocean. We also had free wi-fi and free valet parking. One service that we did not experience was the free movies in the small theater in the lobby but they were showing movies such as "Pirates of the Caribbean". The price was a bit higher than some of the other lesser known hotels on the strip but the quality of the room and the hotel was also higher, as was the customer service. The hotel is also located at the beginning of the boardwalk on the north end so while we had access to the boardwalk, stores, and restaurants, we were away from the mainstream crowd and the beach was much less crowded. This hotel is AMAZING, three pools - three restaurants and everyone was very kid-friendly. This hotel has a great staff with plenty of amenities for all of the family. There are exercise classes in the morning for the grown ups, activities throughout the day for the kids, an onsite movie theatre with different films showing all day, a great bar onsite for mom and dad, wonderful pools, a quieter beach, fairly inexpensive snack bar for quick […] snacks, a 7-11 directly across the road for more snacks, and less traffic. We enjoyed the quieter northern end of the boardwalk which was within walking distance to good restaurants and other activities. There is also a shuttle stop right across the street if you wish to use the VA Beach shuttle or bus. We found it easy to go in and out using our car, parking was never a problem. The beach was never too crowded, and the transition from beach to pool was easy. We even saw fireworks from our balcony. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed. The hotel is at the very north end of the boardwalk, which made it relatively quieter than some of the other hotels (and I liked very much, but I suppose may not be for everyone). The staff did a great job getting one of the outdoor pools reopened after a storm with 75 MPH winds came through, breaking windows […] and throwing lots of debris into the pools. We were looking for a simple place to stay while we were in town visiting family. The hotel is located at the end of the boardwalk and was a wonderful unexpected surprise. The staff could not have been nicer, the view of the ocean was great, the room was spotless and the grounds were excellent. very clean hotel..beautiful colors in the rooms...restaurants were good as well...very family oriented

My trip was in May, it was still off season, so the price was very reasonable. 5 of went, and we didn't really care about how much room we had as long as we had fun, so we just stayed a one bedroom suite that had 2 queen size beds (they say queen size, but it def wasn't queen size, but it was still more than enough for me and my sister to sleep in) […] and a queen size sofa bed in the leaving room area. The hotel is newly renovated so all the decors look really modern and everything was very clean as it should be. I didn't have any problem with the employees or the services. So overall, I left the hotel with a very good impression. Only complaint I have about the hotel was the location. It is located at the north end of the boardwalk. I didn't mind it at day time when we were just strolling and looking at the ocean but it was a pain at night time when we went out. The middle part of the boardwalk where all the nice restuarants and bars werent close enough as i wanted it to be. It would hae been too much to walk after we drank so we had to bring our car, which meant that one of us couldn't get hammered. so we had to bring the afterpaty to our room. I mean there are restaurant aroudn the hotel, and 7/11 conviniently located right in front of the hotel, but it would have been nice to be close to all the hot spots. but still for the price we paid for, it was a wonderful vacation, and i would do it all over again. We had to wait to check in for two hours. The front desk clerk Tim was not very friendly. The manager told me we could have a late check out since our room was not ready in time. The day we left the manager was not there and Tim did not give us a late Check out. I also had my kids in the indoor pool one day and I saw A couple having sex. This Hotel […] is out of control. We stayed on the first floor with young kids. They loved running from the grass to the sand and back again continuously as night fell. Being at the end of the boardwalk, it was not crowded and we didn't have to worry as much about bikes and rollerbladers. For a 2-day stay, this was a perfect place. The room/suite was remarkably large for the 5 of us. […] The kids loved the indoor pool as well. Check-in was very simple. The staff was very nice and efficient. Check-out was easy (we did it through one of the 2 TVs in the room.) Since there wasn't as many people at this end of the beach, parking was simple, and when we checked out, their U shaped driveway on the side meant getting our luggage and kids toys out of the room and into our van was simple and very fast. My wife and kids are all in agreement that this is the place where we HAVE to stay whenever we come back. Being a mother of a young son and expecting another in June, I don't get to take my Caribbean vacations I was used to prior to children. This hotel gave me a little bit of a taste of the resorts we used to visit. There are two great outdoor pools. One more kid focused than the other. The indoor pool and lazy river were great fun. The little movie theater […] was nice and showed a nice variety of movies. We ate breakfast two days at the hotel. The food was good, but it was much better to order from the menu for the cost than doing the buffet. Food was very tasty though. Our room was very spacious and clean. We thoroughly enjoy the view of the ocean and pool from our balcony and the comfort of our room. Some folks complained that the elevators were slow, but we used the ones closest to the lobby desk and had no problems at all, BUT the one by the indoor pool is horrible. The only complaint we had was that the planes from Oceana were extremely loud and it felt nonstop. All day and night there were planes going by. The last plane I remembered hearing was 9:45 pm. This was my second visit to this hotel and will not be my last. It is clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are comfortable. I like the location, right at the end of the boardwalk. My only negatives are the fact the indoor spa was out of service, due to a malfunctioning heater and that the theater, off season is not operational except […] weekends. Excellent hotel for the kids. The personnel was very frieldnly and ready to help. Clean and fun. I would recommend and will probably try to go back in the summer to enjoy the beach and the outdoor pool

We actually stayed 5 nights. All were great. Staff very friendly, lazy river excellent - better than photos, breakfasts - kids ate free. Wished the kids room would have been open - but it was off season. The most gorgeous view we've ever had!

The Hotel was very nice, better then we expected. I would deffinately like to stay again but next time in the summer.

Hotel accomodations were at a high standard. However on-site restaurant facilities were closed and access to meals required leaving the premises. renovations were occuring on the ground floor so that also was a slight inconvenience and may explain the restaurant closure.
