According to the comments I've read, I waited to be a horible place, but apparently I founded excelent. I was very disappointed half the locks did not work had to walk all the way around the building to unpack, parking stunk very limited not very cozy would not return

I booked 2 nights in this hotel despite of all comments made by previous guests. This hotel is 50 years old with no maintenance at all. The bathroom was dirty with pieces of the wall falling down and mould everywhere. I am not fussy about accomodation, but lack of hygiene is too mucg to cope with. The staff was courteous and the hotel was adequate, and especially good if used only for sleeping. There is not much to do in the surrounding area. Residue from beneath the water closet lid had fallen on to the seat. There were no food services establishments, other than the one serving breakfast and lunch next door, within three blocks of the hotel. […] The restaurant next door was freaky and the food was not especially good. Dont even try to stay in this hotel. It is nasty.

I went with my kids for one night. The shower was nasty, the walls dirty, the smell in the room. I wolud never recommend this hotel. They need to clean it better.

You get what you pay for. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was afraid to touch most surfaces. However, it served its purpose as a place to crash. It has a great location near the art district and historic downtown Orlando. I would definitely recommend it if you don't plan on spending much time in the hotel.

Terrific front-desk staff. They got me where I needed to be and were most helpful. While the room was clean and comfortable, it's time to renovate the bathrooms. That would be my only criticism of this motel.

The non-smoking hallway and rooms smelled like stale smoke. The faucet for the bathroom sink was not attached and almost came off every time the handle was lifted for water. The shower tile was broken and dirty (we wore shoes to take a shower) and the shower walls were dirty too. The hotel was absolutely gross!!! Awful experience!!

OLD (50's 60's) cinder block construction building not well kept. If you HAVE to be Downtown next to the Courthouse, OK. If you are there for fun, don't come here.

Considering it is a big international city, this was a deal on the offset. The room looked clean at first but the bathroom was a little ... shal we say aged. Some broken towel rails and a leaky drip from the shower. I woke up everyday with horrible allergies from the room. The A/C was too loud so I couldn't sleep with it. THere may have been some damp […] or mould there but I don't want to blame that directly given that I paid low when others were paying double!! Next time - I will perhaps put out a few extra dollars to avoid the dampness - but in general - I got what i paid for. Staff were nice. Location was good. There was mildew and peeling paint in the bathroom. No hair dryer. The whole hotel smelled like cigaretter smoke. I won't stay there again.

I need an inexpensive place to spend the night - in downtown Orlando -- The Downtown Travel Lodge was perfect for what I needed. One word of caution -- the one way streets in downtown Orlando are confusing -- I found myself going the wrong way twice

This hotel was very dirty and the pictures make the hotel seem 100 times better than it really is. I know that the pictures are usually made to look nicer, but in this case they were far better than the room/hotel were. When we first checked in, we were given a room in which the floor in the bathrooms was dirty, it had black marks on it like it hadnt […] been cleaned from previous person and the paint from the ceiling in the shower was coming off too. it was nasty to look at, i didnt even want to step foot in the room. Went to the front desk, the clerk seemed shocked by the dirtiness, but seems to expect the paint falling thing. He gave us another room. This room smelled like bleach.. not cleaner, actual bleach. the bathroom looked like its never been redone in the time this place has been open. you can see the chuncks of chalking and some blue stuff in the shower. We decided it wasnt worth going back to try to get another room, so we just dealt with it. if it had not been for the fact that the room was already paid for on this site, we would have gotten our stuff and left. I wasnt sure of the refund policy for something like that, but I didnt want to be out the money for this hotel and then have to pay for another hotel. Two of three lightbulbs in the bathroom burnt out, lights in general very dim, 2-inch strip of dust/dirt around the baseboards where apparently the vacuum couldn't quite reach, bathroom floor appeared to be filthy from dried up dirty water, but on inspection I believe it was stained, and the ceiling above the shower was cracked and peeling in ragged, […] 4-7 inch chunks. Glad my wife wasn't with me--she'd probably have refused to stay. The location was great which is why we picked the hotel a short walk to down town clubs and the new arena. The price was right as well but with everything you get what you pay for. 3 min to walk to the Bus Station, with buses to all over Orlando, theme parks and airport included, for $ 2.00. It's cheap, don't expect too much. One of the reception clerks behaved like an idiot.

This was a very modest hotel but the price was right. Three things make a good stay: A comfortable bed, an ac/heating room unit that can be manipulated for a pleasant temperature, and cleanliness. This room had all of these 3 things.

I chose this hotel because of the central location and low price. Shared a room with a golfing buddy and we wanted to save our money for other things. Would not have brought my wife there. Negative descriptions of condition of rugs, bathrooms, etc. are accurate but room seemed clean and maids did good job each day. If you needed a cheap hotel and was oly going to spend time in it to sleep,then this is your hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating. It is exactly what was advertised.

This hotel was a fair price and in a great location for where I needed to be. My only issues were that when I walked into my room it was 54 degrees and water was on the floor near the unit. Some light bulbs were burned out in the bathroom. A friendly spider decided to join me after my shower. The customer service was great. Nice location. Decent enough for the price. I did not shower here, and the shower did not look all that inviting. But for what I needed, this place worked. We've gotten in the habit of using our own sheets. And did so on this trip. I'd stay here again.

This was by far the most disgusting place I have ever seen!! The carpet was awful, the room smelled, the sheets had blood on them and the shower didn't even work. All of the roads surronding the Hotel were closed and the staff were jerks. The room next to mine didn't even have light bulbs in any of the lamps and so those people spent there weekend inthe […] dark. I had to find a place to buy sheets so we could sleep. I wish I had taken a picture of this place so everyone could see it. We didn't even take our shoes off becaise the carpet had obviously not been cleaned since the day it opened. JUST AWFUL!! This hotel is pretty much bad. I saw a couple of roaches, the room has stains on the carpet so no walking barefoot. Bathroom needed some updating badly. The location was great though so that's the reason why I stayed there for one night. This is an average hotel that is fairly clean. The room was clean with and had a mini fridge and microwave. In room safe and wireless internet was really nice. The internet could handle streaming video. One of the best features is it is only 2-3 blocks from the downtown bars.

they really need to do something about the mold and mildew in this hotel......very bad, and not very clean

Do not be fooled by the location. This is the most outdated, nastiest hotel I have ever been in.
