We stayed here for the Easter weekend and initially I had been a little worried about being moved to another hotel as some previous posters had, but luckily we did not have to worry about that. The hotel has a really good location, just across from the cathedral but our room faced away so although we could hear the bells it was not too bad. The staff […] were really friendly and helpful, the breakfast spread was good - nice selection of cheeses and cold meats, well-cooked eggs. The furniture is a bit dated but it does have it's own charm. Room size was very good, bathroom very clean and I highly recommend checking out the rooftop bar for the views. Its definately not a 4 star hotel, the beds are twin size not standard and for a queen they just put two twins together. The location is amazing as its heart of the city and just across the stephenson church and subway and most other tourists attractions. The employees are very nice but the hotel needs new furniture as its so old and only a 15 inch […] TV i think. overall for close to city centre and if your not looking for comfort of the room but more for the convience of the location than I would def recommend it. We highly recommend The Royal Hotel in Vienna for its accommodations, location, comfort, staff and value. Our double room was large & comfortable with a very nicely appointed, useable sitting area. With wonderful breakfasts and helpful staff we really enjoyed our 4 night stay while exploring Vienna and will return again.

What a surprise when coming up from the underground to find our hotel around the corner. Great location, we could walk everywhere. This hotel suited our family of four. The breakfast was more than adequate. The hotel room was large and clean, though the beds were a little hard. Thank goodness for sheer curtains as we looked into the McDonalds across […] the street. the location of royal hotel was perfect, but my room was cold every night

The hotel is wonderful...clean, comfortable rooms with updated bathrooms etc. The staff was nice and the breakfast buffet was good. But the best part of this hotel was the location...it's in the heart of the old town (around the corner from the cathedral), near metro, in the center of the shopping area, etc etc

Next door to St. Stephen's andsurrounded by wide pedestrian spaces --- and, Hermes, Dior, and all the other finest of stores. A great location. Good rooms - average staff.

Good hotel at a great lactation. You can easily walk from Vienna/Mitte station where the train from the airport stops. A tube station is right in front of the hotel. Stuff was very friendly. Rooms are big. Furniture was not my cup of tea but probably what tourists expect from Vienna. I liked the wooden flooring (instead of a carpet). Had only a very […] small Cathode Ray Tube TV but who wants to watch telly when in Vienna. Everything was very clean. I had a room to the rear of the house which was very quiet - until the bells from the dome ring in the morning. Breakfast was plentiful; though I missed some fresh fruit. Our stay here was excellent. Far and away, the best aspect was the location. Right beside St. Stephan's Cathedral and a subway stop, it is both in the center of town and connected to everywhere else. We also had a great price on our room, well below most others in the area. Found the room to be very clean and nicely decorated (if you like an "older", […] antiquey look). Staff very helpful. This was my first time to Vienna and I had no idea of the city layout or where to stay. Hotel Royal was the perfect choice - right in the city center, a block away from the Stephansdom cathedral and the main metro line. The front desk staff are all extremely helpful and friendly (and all speak beautiful English of course), and my single room was clean […] and well-furnished. Comfortable beds, A/C, and a 120v US-style outlet in the bathroom. They serve a delicious complimentary breakfast every morning of meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries and assorted cereals. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Vienna on tour or business! Only downside is the 30 euro/day internet fee (or 3 euro/30min), but almost every cafe has free wireless anyway. The place was as advertised and worth the money. The location was great and the room was clean. We had AC despite what other reviews say. Much of Vienna is under construction, so people who are annoyed by that should avoid the city, its not the hotels fault.

Old hotel. Average maintenance, on par with chain hotels in less pricey neighborhoods. Location is great, which is really all you are paying for.

My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our week-long stay at the Royal Hotel in Vienna this month (June). It is perfectly placed in one of the world's best cities: walk out the door and you are steps away from so many great sights. St Stephan's Cathedral. Mozart House. Spanish Riding School. Imperial Hofburg. Figlmüller (most famous Wiener Schnitzel […] restaurant). And the Underground stop is seconds away by foot, so the rest of Vienna is easily accessible. Took about 15 minutes via Underground to get to the Volksoper. The hotel has two great restaurants -- my fave was the 10th-story roof-top restaurant, rated four stars. It is time to replace these ole ugly TV sets if you replace them with new sets and sell these to the Museum you would probably be makind money

As of February 2011, this hotel is under construction. This hotel is not a 4 star hotel. No free internet (you can pay 3 euro for 30 mins), the mattress was on a plywood frame that extended over the bed frame. Bare, dirty floors. The 1970s tube TV was on the rolling refrigerator / "mini bar". The walls are filthy. So even without the construction, […] I would not recommend this hotel. But right now, in February 2011, this hotel is under construction and should not be accepting guests. At 7AM, a trash container was opened, doors slamming. Then the jackhammers started in the room next to me and the room below me. It continued all morning. The staircase is covered in plastic tarps, duct tape over the elevator buttons that don't work. It was a disaster of a stay. It's too bad because the hotel is located right next to Stephansplatz and a subway stop. This is not a 4 star hotel. This is a zero star hotel. Nice hotel, good for short stays. The standard room could use an update, but the price kindof fits the condition .. Food was good at the hotels restaurant, very helpful and nice staff with a good twist of humor.. For ny business trip it was excelent..

This hotel is right in the heart of Vienna, next to a subway stop. You can't beat the location. However, the hotel does not have AC and the front desk people do not seem to have any idea about their city, what to do or how to get around. A localização deste hotel é perfeita, perto de tudo e de uma estação de metro.

Très bon hotel, confortable, personnel très courtois. idéalement placé.

Il ne pourrait pas être plus au centre, très très pratique. Le personnel est très sympa, le petit déjeuner copieux. Pour la propreté de ma chambre, c'était pas le top niveau, mais c'était pas dégueulasse non plus! Je reviendrais sans aucune hésitation!!!!

Beliggenheden er perfekt, tætt på seværdigheder, restauranter og butiker. Det eneste minus var sengene, sov meget elendigt i dem. Hotelet har også en meget hyggelig tagterrance med udsigt over byen.

Mitt i stan toppen placering. Tyvärr slitna rum. Sängarna var låga och inte vidare bekväma. Undvik rum 60, vi bytte rum. Frikosten är bra men litet rum så folk står o kö för plats.

come dicevo nel titolo ottimo, situato come servizio , coazione, e la cosa più importante che dista zero metri dal centro.

Hotellet ligger lige tæt op af gågaden og Stefansdom perfekt i forhold til alt. Man kan gå rundt til alt og behøver ikke offentlig transport. Værelse pænt stor og rent. Service på hotellet ringe især i restauranten hvor der slet ikke var kapacitet nok til det antal gæster der var. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, direkt neben dem Stephansdom. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und mit Parkettboden. Das Frühstücksbuffet lässt keine Wünsche offen. Ich würde jederzeit gerne wieder in diesem Hotel übernachten.

Hotel Royal er et fint hotel med super beliggenhed. Vi var der i januar og alt var i orden. Det neste problem er, at der ikke altid er plads i morgenmads restauranten. Personalet var og hurtige og løste det med en opdækning i foye, der fungerede fint. Alt i alt var vi meget tilfredse alle 5 på 9,15,49,52 og 76 år.

部屋の鍵がオートロックではなく、昔ながらの鍵を差込んで回すタイプであったり、テレビが14インチブラウン管タイプ等、少し古い感じのところもありますが、スタッフの対応は非常に満足。ホテルの立地も非常に便利です。お勧めです。

Hotellet ligger centralt for de fleste seværdigheder. Værelserne er rigtig pæne og rummelige, og meget rene.Bekvemt og praktisk indrettede.Men folk der ikke kan lide støj fra gaden og kirkeklokker, skal ikke booke sig ind på Royal. Os generede det ikke. Desværre er selve mødet med hotellet præget af en meget ubehagelig lugt i foyeren, nærmest lidt […] kloakagtig. Desuden er en af receptionisterne en temmelig bitter mand. Det var desværre ham der modtog os. Måske var han bare ualmindelig stresset? Morgenmadsrestauranten er et kapitel for sig. Overbooket hver dag, lige meget hvornår man ankom. Lang ventetid før man blev seated. Personalet meget stressede. (Det skal siges at det var i julen, og der var mange gæster, men det kan vel næppe være kommet bag på dem.) Der er et udmærket tag-selv bord, men vi savnede frugt, som der intet var af. Man kunne dårligt komme frem eller tilbage mellem bordene. Man må håbe at der er andre gæster der kommenterer lugten i foyeren, så hotellet kan få gjort noget ved problemet.
