This hotel was fine for what we needed which was a bed & shower.

My stay was not pleasant at all. The bed was so hard and old that I didn't sleep. The heater was blowing child air and the front desk had to come to my room twice and couldn't get it right. VERRY GOOD

The hotel was nice, but first the sign is difficult to see in the night, needs to be closer to the road and bigger. Easy to miss the hotel in the night. The hotel was nice but has a smell like a motel, a little air freshener is welcoming. The bathtub water and sink did not empty freely. My son had to pull out hair stuck in the drain. The bathroom vent […] had a lot of dirt showing. Why was it not cleaned. I felt like I was in a big hotel with the environment and cleanliness of a motel. My husband and I were forced to find a hotel in a nearby town as we were out of electricity for several days and it was not going to be up any time soon. I picked a spot that was both convenient and affordable. I chose the Courtyard because it had a swimming pool and Jacuzzi. It was booked through hotels.com. I spoke to representative over the phone […] and asked if a hot tub was at the facility. I was told yes. I was able to check in a few hours early as I was the only car in the lot. I told Adam (front desk clerk) my reason for the stay and that I was happy to get a pool and hot tub. He told me that there was not a hot tub but they did have Jacuzzi tubs. I was okay with that. I went up to my room and saw that there was no Jacuzzi. I walked back down to the lobby and passed the closed down, roped off swimming pool. I asked Adam, about this and he said, “Oh yes” the pool is closed and that only some rooms had a Jacuzzi tub. He said he would ask the manager if something could be done. Adam came back several minutes later with a BREAKFAST VOUCHER. I was not happy, but was exhausted and in need of a hot shower and some rest. I let it go. The room was very clean and the house keeping woman was very nice and apologized for my misfortune. My husband joined me, we went to dinner and then to sleep. The next morning, we realized that the free breakfast was indeed not free. We had to pay for my husband buffet breakfast. The computer station in the lobby had no privacy as large groups of people would gather and would get very loud at times. Only one of the two computers worked. The lobby also smelled of oil. One could not stay too long as it was quite nauseating. Check out time was not pleasant at all. I asked for a receipt for the room stay and the breakfast. I was told I had to get my receipts through the booking agent and because I paid cash for the restaurant she would have to look for it. I stood there as she looked through stacks of paper. Good hotel value for the price. The maid service was a little spotty but my stay occurred during Hurricane Irene and so they may have experienced staffing problems.

There are plenty of other hotels in the area. The hotel is filthy, has dirty smelly rugs in both elevators. We never had the right amount of towels and wash cloths. There is no continental breakfast offered, and when they extend the invitation of "American Continental buffet breakfast", make sure you ask what it costs. We have travelled to many places, […] this would have to be the worst place we have ever stayed. good value

We found our room to be just what we needed. Very clean and quiet. The rate was great. We really enjoyed the pool, nice and clean and the available hours to use it were plenty. The checking in and out was quick and easy.

The only downside was the room I was in was next to a vending area and the ice machine was heard through the walls all night long.

The hotel is near some chain stores and restaurants but not much is walk-able. We had a really loud toilet, lousy water pressure in the shower and a poorly draining sink (perhaps there was a plumbing issue). The room was clean, AC worked and we just needed to sleep and get up and out the next day. The hotel is great if you just need a cheap, clean place […] to sleep and need to be up and on your way the next day. Be warned, they have really SMALL, square pillows on their beds. Was a wonderful stay. The room had just been renovated and was beautiful. Had a sofa, frig. microwave and coffee pot in room. Was very clean and the bed was comfortable.And the price was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone.

It's in a nice neighborhood. Has a Shopping Center, a TJmax, Chili's, Ruby Tuesday, Walgreens, TD Bank to name a few things walking distance to the hotel. Our room was very clean and was ready when we checked in at 5 minutes afer 3. We wanted to check out at 2pm, they said we couldn't but they let us check out at 1pm. There was a flood on the 3rd floor […] and the rooms were inaccessible for a few hours but we weren't there for that so I have no complaints. We stayed there for one night. This is as good a place as any. Its clean & comfortable. Great price for the quality of the hotel. I don't have much else to say since I was only there for one night.

Everything was fine - to a point. (To be fair, I did mention these items upon checkout. Hopefully, they'll follow-up and take care of them.) We just wanted to get out of the house, go out to dinner, and go to a hotel for a swim. This one was priced right and was close to the restaurant we chose. The only two issues we had/raised: 1) the coffee carafe […] (sp?) in the mini-maker in the room was the incorrect height for the maker to work correctly. Had a minor coffee flood; and, the main event (the pool) had a disgusting scum-ring around the whole thing at the water line. (Of course, below the water line, where all the chlorine is appeared "clean" - even if the water was "murky" looking.) You could tell that other people had noticed (and maybe not said anything) because there were scratch marks in the scum indicating that they maybe couldn't believe what they were seeing either! My girlfriend and I had a very good stay at this hotel. It was not to far from an area where my friend's wedding took place. Staff was great. The room on the 7th floor was not as big as I thought it was going to be. Good for a short stay with two people room would be small for a family.

We went down to a dance competition we some other members of our dance team. We chose the courtyard, but others choose another local hotel. All the other families cancelled their hotel due the bad location of that hotel and took rooms at the Courtyard.

I was visiting for my high school reunion, which was held in the hotel's ballroom. The room met my needs quite nicely. I was glad to have the king size bed with all its fluffy pillows when I came down with a migraine headache.

All went well until we got in our room. The room was cold (est 60 to 65 degrees) when we arrived and immediately turned the heat on only to discover someone left the slider window open, which we closed. When we ran the heater it made a loud god awful roar all night which kept us up and woke us both. We decided to sleep" in" and placed the DND door handle […] card only to be awakened by the noise of someone vacuuming the hallway carpet and banging into our door...all in all, the worst experience we have had with our many stays at Marriott hotels. Wonderful hotel. Very clean and staff was very attentive. There were lots of dining options nearby, my husband and I highly recommend the Plaza Diner which is less than a block away from the hotel.

Have stayed a couple times here now, usually acceptable, no issues. This time the hotel thought it would be a good idea to allow a motorcycle club use the ballroom facilities for a party. The result was multiple incidents of being awoken throughout the night. Upon complaining to the staff, they offered their 'sincerest apology', but offered no remedy […] to the issue. I bit out of the way (if your destination is New Haven) but staff was very friendly and room was in very good order. Bed was clean and comfortable, shower was pleasant. We decided on a lighter breakfast ourselves, but restaurant had a full hot buffet that looked reasonable.

I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Shelton for one night. The hotel is very well-kept and cozy. I was in a Standard King Suite -- it was incredibly spacious and comfortable, with an enormous smooshy bed and a cozy little loveseat next to the window. The room was very clean. There wasn't so much as a speck of dust in the room. The hotel has a small […] restaurant & a reasonably priced room service menu; we ordered breakfast in bed and it was quite good, albeit a little bit late. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is very convenient to New Haven, right off of Route 8. There's a decent selection of restaurants around the hotel, but not a whole lot else. For entertainment purposes, you're better off heading into New Haven. I would definitely stay here again and I can't recommend this hotel enough. Staff friendly and helpful. Problem with heat which they couldn't fix, but sure tried. We did not freeze. Only issue was on weekends, you can only "purchase" the breakfast buffet, not from the menu. Too expensive. But, bagels close by. This was a great place to stay and we recommend it.

I have stayed at this hotel before and I keep coming back. It is very clean, and the staff is very courteous. I would recommend this hotel!!!

Beds comfortable, nice tub for a bath. Good air conditioning very important in the summer. A nice thing happened as we were leaving...an older woman was lost and looking for a local bank. The driver of the shuttle offered to let her park her car and he would drive her to the bank. How nice is that? She got directions and found her way, but it is the […] thought that counts. The service at the hotel was great. I was a little nervous when I first checked in and they gave me a room that was already occupied. But the front desk staff was very quick to rectify the matter. I can honestly say that this hotel has the most friendly and helpful staff.

Clean , spacious & comfortable room. Great value for the money. Recommended.

convient location, clean and nice people

We stayed for one night when we visited Yale University on a family vacation. Location was fine, the room was roomy and attractive. It suited our needs just great. Very clean. Comfortable. Professional staff.

Our stay was only one night, but everything was very nice. Check in was perfect, room was clean and well decorated, nice surrounding area, easy to get to from the highway. Would definitely stay here again if we get back to CT.

Our visit was short,but the hotel stay was great the beds were comfortable and the shower and bathrooms were very clean

The hotel was very convenient to where I was visiting and the price was very good.All staff were polite and helpful.

Other than the a/c breaking at 3:00 a.m. Everything was great

We had a good stay; clean room, pool, etc., but couldn't cool the room at night; it remained a toasty 77 degrees which made it difficult to sleep.

Clean, convenient, and great place to stay and relax or work.

The hotel was absolutely wonderful. I would have paid more to stay there. The beds were so comfortable and the quietness in the hotel at night was great. You could not ask for more. I would recommend the hotel to my friends.
