comfortable beds, hot showers, older hotel but was a good value. The staff was very nice. I recommend checking the shower though. Ours had a bit of mold in it but the staff was very attentive when I told them about it.

The hotel was not up to standards. Needs paint, inside out, cleaned, etc. As far as Hotels.com, and this is VERY IMPORTANT, myself and a colleage reserved this hotel and it was stated we would receive a 20% discount in the hotels.com site. Your service was quick and easy to navigate thru when reserving, we got a rental car as well, but your response to us when there was an obvious problem was non-existant. My own company would never survive unless I took excellant care of my customers. Great stopping place on your travels to and from Houston, just off the highway and very inexpensive. They are also pet-friendly for only $10 extra.

I got this room at a really reasonable rate so I was not expecting a super posh hotel. The room was cleaned well each day but the maid failed to leave new coffee packets or cups. I actually spoke with her one day, and she apologized and left extra the next time she cleaned. I asked for extra towels at the front desk, which I did not get and had to ask […] again. They were delivered very promptly by the desk clerk, so I wasn't upset by that. Do not expect much for breakfast. It is very minimal. Plan on eating at the Denny's that is close by or buying stuff to put in the room fridge. I was not disappointed as we were just using the room to crash at night. We didn't need a luxurious room for relaxing in. Just someplace to sleep and shower. This fit that requirement at a price that made the trip affordable. If you're looking for a high-class hotel this one is NOT for you! If you're looking for a clean place to sleep this is great for you. We didn't even spend time in the hotel except to sleep. The staff there was very courteous but the hotel is definitely very old.

There was a party of hotel workers outside my door drinking beer and had their music way up. They honestly weren't there too long but being a single traveler, it left me feeling wary. They left all their bottles. The office desk had it cleaned up soon after I said something the following morning. You get what you pay for. The room had been cleaned but it defintely hasn't been updated in over a decade. It had stained carpet, tile, and bathroom fixtures. We checked in and our 1st room the TV reception wasn't GREAT, room wasn't all that BUT we called front office and she tried to fix TV because maintenance man wasn't around but after several attempts she moved us to a different room in same building where office was located and it was so MUCH MORE IMPROVEMENT overall from 1st room that we felt we got […] our monies worth!! The hotel was under some construction and had to locate to a different room on the first floor. The surrounding enviroment was ok. Hopefully I wont have to go back to another graduation there.

I seldom write a hotel review, good or bad. This is different. I reserved a room with good rates because it was just for two guys, a friend and myself while at the Pate swap meet at Texas Raceway Park where we usually buy car parts we don't need. I reserve rooms at more expensive hotels for my wife and myself. I didn't expect much for the low price. […] My first impression seemed to confirm my expectations. It is an older hotel that could use a remodel but I noticed the nice little lobby and hall were perfectly clean as was the well furnished room. Other friends had rooms and I experienced three rooms during my stay. Everything worked in all three. There were microwaves, clocks, large refrigerators, real wood tables, desks, cold air, hot water, conti breakfast, and good, clean beds. Also, it smells nice, kind of like your parent's house. The hotel is in a good, well lit area next to another hotel, Waffle House, Denny's, other all night businesses and is situated right next to Interstate 35. I frequent much more expensive hotels that don't have these comforting features. The management are first or second generation Americans who after you talk to them, refute stereotyping as is all too often the case with us xenophobic ugly Americans. (My ancestors got here before you did. Right?) Absolutely the nicest pretty young lady welcomed me in with a personal and honest demeanor that I will always cherish when I converse with my well-rehearsed and efficient Marriott and Hilton employees in their plastic ivory towers. When one of our vehicles broke down and we needed another night, the manager, Mr. XXXXX was exceedingly helpful even so far as to give us a special rate and other accomodations in view of our misfortune. My three day stay became five. More importantly, it became a wonderful learning experience for me. About people as well as hotels. The hotel needs updating. But after talking with the manger he explained the situation about why the owner had not been able to update the hotel. The staff of the hotel was very nice.

The hotel was an older hotel but was very cleanly kept. The attendant working there was very friendly, and made us feel very welcome. He was definitly an asset to the hotel. The location was great as well, since it was located right in the middle of about 5 reasturants. If you wanted to walk or drive you could get to 5 more within 5 minutes. These included […] full service dining or fast food options. The motel was very quiet especially considering its location being directly off of the highway. Shopping and restaurants were easy to find with the manager's excellent directions and the staff made us feel right at home. There was one working light in the room itself that gave a pretty creepy glow to the place. Other than that, it was a fine stay. Polite staff, clean room, convenient to downtown area, Waffle House, gas station, and I-35W. Good price and safe.

This was clearly and older property, but there was ample evidence of ongoing renovations. Rooms were a little small. But staff was very nice and helpful.

We rented two rooms at the Howard Johnson as part of our move to Texas. My father-in-law's room was either still occupied or hadn't been cleaned; he left in disgust and went to the Comfort Inn next door. We soon followed. Our room smelled very moldy and musty. We ordered a nonsmoking room (my young adult daughter is terribly allergic to smoke). Even though the sign said "Nonsmoking", you could still see nicotine on the walls (it had not been "sanitized") and even the minute you hit the hallway from the Registration Desk, the odor was horrendous. I am a smoker and the odor was even very offensive to me. If […] it had not been so late and we were not so tired, we would have turned around and walked out. The carpet was dirty, the washcloths were dirty, the shower and bathtub were very dirty (we didn't even shower there it was so awful). It was a very dingy, dirty-looking room that looked like it hadn't been updated since the 1960s. I will not be staying there ever again; I would rather sleep in the car than stay at this motel. The hotel is in walking distance to a Diary Queen, Sonic that has an inside dining area and several gas stations/convienant stores. There is also a resturant nearby. The tub had stains in the bottom of it but was not to bad. There is not enough pillows on the bed. I had an upstairs room in the new part of the hotel. For the price the room was not that […] bad. This hotel needs some help. It's clearly under construction, and we were put in a room that was being converted into a suite. On two separate occasions, someone walked into our room without knocking. The night we were there, we were waiting on some Chinese food, and someone opened the door, and apologized for coming in. we were here for graduation we found this hotel to be fine for all the needs we had.

our room was booked by our son who's graduation we were to attend with family to my suprise they exceeded all my expectations. i have no complaint what so ever.

wanted to day sleep and room i got was so quite that i slept like a rock. front desk clerks awsome people. My stay couldn't be any better.

poor customer service.
