the elevator reeked of cigarette smoke the entire stay. The pillows are like pancakes and the sheets are threadbare (might want to consider replacing). other than the above, it was somewhere to stay in a town that I couldn't find another available hotel due to several events going on that weekend.

The only complaint we have....invest in some new bed pillows!

as an alumnus of the university back for a nostalgic visit, the location was a great asset...easy walking distance to "the corner" and grounds. i had a room on the 7th floor on the back side, and it was quiet and comfortable. a very no frills experience at a high price, but the location and easy parking more than made up for it.

I prefer hotels with amenities and high star ratings. As such, this hotel would not have been an option if not for a last minute trip to Charlottesville to visit my daughter during an event filled weekend at UVA. I must say, however, that I was pleasantly surprised with the Super8. It was clean and included a microwave and mini-fridge. Close to lots of great things to see in Charlottesville and very close to the campus of UVA. Great deal.

The room was OK and the bathroom was passible. The motel was a bit run down.. Carpeting in the hall was threadbare, and the hall was very dark. The bed was comfortable. The clerks were friendly. The breakfast was minimal.

The hotel is not in any way nice or fancy, but it provided a cheap clean room.

While the hotel staff was very helpful and friendly, unfortunately that's where the good stopped. My room was on the third floor not too close to the elevator. The heat/ac unit in the room reminded me of my days on the flight line, sounded like a F-4 running at full throttle. The bed was uncomfortable, but the pillows were terrible. Sheets were clean, […] but the floor hadn't been vacuumed in a couple of guests. Towels were small but worn out, and with two queen sized beds you might have expected more than two bath towels, two hand towels, and one bath cloth. No idea on how the coffee maker worked... The tiny lobby with minimal coffee urns, bread and cereal breakfast didn't add a lot to our stay, esp when the nonsmoking room smelled smoky. Two too thin pillows and the early morning construction noise nearby made us want to get out early. It was cheap but be forewarned.

The bed was uninspiring. The breakfast was simple. But it was clean and quiet and the staff was nice. Exactly what I expected for the price.

Terrible. Dirty hallways, dirty room, torn sheets and comforter, flat and hard pillows, A/C extremely loud when it did work, A/C never got very cold. I believed the reviews and booked this place for two nights. I was misled, severely. If you dream of staying in a place that could be labeled "ghetto inn," book this hotel. I never will again.

This motel/hotel is nice and simple. It offers excellent value for money as breakfast and wifi are free and their service is also very good.

great value. clean & neat. breakfast ok to get you out the door.

We slept well - the room was warm. Good for the price. Breakfast a little skimpy. If I had thought would have gotten a bigger room or two rooms for the number and age of people we had traveling with us.

OK for a cheap one night stay no frills, worn towels but the front office staff vey nice and the breakfast was adequate and free

If you are looking for a place to sleep with no other amenities its a decent value compared to other motels in the area. The building is old but the room was clean. The WIFI worked but the TV was marginal.

No refrigerator, and the pillows are very thin. Hallway smells like smoke. Convenient location and best price for the area.

Considering this was the cheapest place in the area over Thanksgiving weekend, it was not bad. However, my bed mattress (queen) was a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast was not appetizing, but you get what you pay for.

My daughter had an early appointment at UVA as we live 4 hours away we decided staying the night before would be easier. Needless to say money is tight and this was unexpected to say the least. Having to settle for an affordable room I was surprised to find a very clean room, very nice staff. I had to settle for a smoking room because all other hotel rooms in town were booked. To my surprise, it did not smell bad. Contrary to what I expected, it was very adequate for a night's stay. Nothing fancy, and not much of a breakfast, but ok.

this hotel met our needs - it was nice. it was definitely no frills and on the older side but again, for the price - i thought it was nice. the lady at the front desk was pleasant and offered to give us more towels since we had more people staying in our room than we thought when we made the reservation. they offered a small continental breakfast in […] the morning. booked on hotels . com due to pet policy checked in with small dog with no problems two days later i was locked pout of my room until i paid a pet fee and was given handicap room i did not ask for clerk was nasty when she told me i waas not to be in that room with dog . not myndecision if you stay here beware

Let me first say that the folks working at the Super 8 in Charlottesville were super nice. It was one of the cheaper hotels in town, and it was nice that things like internet and local phone calls were included in the price of the room. Their efforts to "be green" and cut costs, though, were maybe a bit misguided. For example, my mattress was definitely […] past its prime: there was a big valley in the middle of the bed even when no one was lying on it, and both mattresses in the room had some questionable brown stains on them. Might be time to get some new mattresses. Also, I was ambivalent about their policy to only wash sheets and towels on request; I requested to have mine washed every day. Last but not least, although the location was convenient for where I wanted to go, I found that the neighborhood was not the quietest place. Early in the morning, the garbage collectors were out, with the high-pitched beeping of their trucks piercing the stillness of the too-early dawn, not just one day, but every day of my stay. *Yawn!* I guess it would be a nice enough place to crash for the night if you were passing through town, wanted to be close to restaurants and a laundromat, and planned to get up early in the morning anyway. Pros: cheap, bug-free, friendly front-desk staff, functioning TV, decent pillows on bed Cons: smelled of mold, poor lighting in bathroom, tub did not drain, toilet tank cover was not on the tank properly, had to enter in the back of the hotel that faced the woods, no closet (just a rod in the back corner of the room) Bottom line: if you just need […] a quick, cheap place to stay overnight, and everything else in town is booked, it will do. Hotel room was simple but incredibly clean with new furniture. Bathroom was spotless (and great hot water!). Staff was friendly and efficient. Would recommend this hotel highly, especially for the price. I was on the third floor, which is non-smoking.

The *entire* hotel smelled like pee. Walked in and the door bolt was broken. There were fleas in the sheets and the blankets. NEVER STAY Here, Hotels.com _SHOULD_ remove this place.

When I made the reservation for the rooms, I specified NON-SMOKING ROOMS! I have asthma and am allergic to cigarette smike. Yet, they put us in smoking rooms. Totally unacceptable and unforgivable. One of my worst experiences ever!

My wife and I stayed in the Comfort Inn last night and we will NEVER stay there again. We requested a non-smoking room through Hotel.com; Comfort Inn gave us a smoking room and told us there was no option even though we were checking in at 2:00 pm and the hotel wasn't booked. The front desk clerk was rude and told us we could cancel the reservation […] if we didn't like it. Since we were tight on time to get to a wedding, we took it. What a mistake. Overall, the hotel is tired and looks it. Our room was not close to being clean. Hairs in the bathroom, cigarette butts behind the nightstand, mold in the shower. The carpet hadn't been cleaned in ages; you could see the dirty spots. The air conditioner had to run all night to keep the smoke fumes down. We asked for an iron and when we were given one at the front desk, we were told that we could only have it for an hour. Poor service again! When we got back from the wedding at about 9pm, we found our key card wouldn't work the outside door. We had to enter through the lobby. The very next morning, we found the same door propped open with part of a broken room lock. The "breakfast" consisted of some boxed donuts, english muffins, and cold ceral in the hotel lobby. We went down the street to the Waffle House and had a much better meal in a cleaner location. Overall, a very bad place to stay and one I will not recommend. I had skin rashes and itching badly when stayed in the hotel. checked with front desk and I was told I should tell them early in order to have someone treat the bed for me. but I was too late. the whole hotel's room were sold out. They can not do anything forme.

After years in different kinds of hotels, when the front desk attendent specifically ask to have the keycards returned, it should be a hint of the type of hotel. There was a crack along the ac unit from the room directly to the outside of the bldg. So the ac ran all night to remain not only cool, but to counter the effects from the heat and humidity […] from outside. Thank goddnes we saw no little creatures the next morning. There was no iron or ironing board in room. Difficult to sleep since no elevation for your head from the bed, since the pillows were flat and had no puff or fluff. This hotel was below low budget. I was tired and needed to stop. This hotel was affordable, clean and a very nice place to stay. It helped my budget to have breakfast before continuing my trip.

Nothing wrong ... just nothing special. Okay for what it was. The price was right and it was convenient to my travel plans.

Pros: I didnt expect much for the price I paid. Cons: Complimentary Breakfast, if you want to have a good breakfast eat outside.

It was a nice affordable hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. They could improve the approach by pulling some weeds outside the hotel, however, it was worth the price.

The only good thing about the motel is the location. When we checked in there was hair in the bathroom floor. There was dried blood on one of the pillows and the mattress protectors were torn. This hotel, although a bit aged, fit our needs perfectly. We needed to be near the highway and in town. We will stay here again.
