The room was small, but having access to relax in the tea room was nice. Staff was very helpful and the hotel had an old time charm.

Good Friendly staff who have been very helpful. Location is excellent being right in the midst of SF's shopping centre. A good selection of eateries are also in close proximity to the hotel making this a good value for money for any traveller to SF.

The location was fantastic, if you want to stay where the action is, but with that came lots of noise and a $150 fee to park the car for 4 days. The room was very smal, very hot (no air conditioning) and very noisy. There was only one tiny lift with huge waiting periods so we had to use the stairs. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Small room, free breakfast, free wifi, amazing location - right in the heart of the city. Highly recommend the hop on, hop off tour of you're on a time restriction. We wouldn't stay at this hotel again, however we would look for something around the same area.

The Hotel Stratford doesn't have a lot of glitz and glamour, but it does offer a clean, friendly, and welcoming environment. 2 blocks from BART, a cable car stop out the front door, literally across the street from Union Square, you can get anywhere in the city from here. Room was small, but clean and comfortable. More like a bed and breakfast (rates include a light breakfast in the "tea room." Overall great, my new favorite place when staying in San Francisco.

I enjoyed my stay at The Stratford. The location was convenient for me to get to the Moscone Center and the cost didn't break the bank. The room itself smelled of mold and must, which would be my main complaint. The staff was very nice, and the complimentary breakfast was fine.

From SFO, I took BART to Powell St. and headed up two blocks. The hotel sign was large and easily visible just after O'Farrell St. What a great location! The staff were very helpful and wonderful (yes, ALL of them!). I wasn't asked if I wanted a particular type of room (one with less street noise), but that is what I got. The room was tiny like a dorm […] room, but there was a small closet for storage. I didn't see any air vents, and it was a warm week so I opened the window which faced a wall, but it was quiet! The next morning, I went to get some hot water from the room where the continental breakfast was served. There were different types of breads, fruit, juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I checked out early and asked if they could store my luggage. They offered to give me late check-out, but I didn't know if I'd make it back in time so they stored my luggage for me. The hotel is located right in Union Square. However the rooms are so small! The bed was not comfortable at all and the bedding really itchy. If your looking for a hotel located next to everything, then this is the place.

The room was very clean and comfortable. I would say be wary of any rooms facing Powell St as it can be noisy at night. The one elevator is also quite slow. Overall Stratford is ok for the price. The elevator is slow, showers have no pressure, and Powell St is loud. But the location is perfect, rooms are clean and comfortable, and the price is right. Plus, SF is such a great city why would you want to waste your stay in a hotel room!
