This hotel allows pets, which is great. There is a park close by. The problem was that I didn't bring any pets but the room that I had was clearly a pet room. So much dog hair and a slight smell. For anyone with pet dander allergies, I recommend asking if they have rooms available that have not housed pets. My husband & I stayed for 2 nights in the BW Slon with our baby, and overall had a very good stay: the room was comfortable, the breakfast buffet was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Convenient location. Very co-operative staff, we were there as a family and the hotel staff ensured we had an additional bed placed in our room. Full marks for safety, forgot my laptop bag in the reception and was happy to find it safe and secure with the hotel staff. I only stayed at this hotel the one night. Its an old building partially renovated to justify the high price. Be aware no parking in the immediate vicinity so they'll screw you for parking 18€ per night. Staff not very friendly. I couldn't recommend it!

Glamorous hotel in good location,close to everything you ould want to see in Lj. Only downside was noisy airconditioning in room . Immaculately clean. Breakfast buffet had extensive choice and waiters very helpful and friendly.

Nothing to say, my stay was just perfect

This hotel was recommended by a friend and we were very pleased. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the easy access to the major sights, market and restaurants.

Hotel Was in a great location. Room was old, but it Was comfortable, especially the bed. Hotel interior walls were scratched and in decinate need of painting. The hotel staff was helpfuland friendly. We had the breakfast included. It was very good. Parking was available would stay there again

We stayed three days in Ljubljana during a heat wave and the hotel was a wonderful retreat after being out and about. So quiet and comfortable. We chose this hotel with no reference but found it to be very convenient to the sites in Lubljana by foot. The rooms were spacious and modern. Our biggest surprise was the breakfast which offered a wide variety of quality food and beverages. I would highly recommend this hotel as a great value with good service and a great location.

we stayed in this hotel with our 11 year old son for two nights. we had a deluxe double room at the top of the hotel as we'd read about the lower floor rooms being a bit noisy. our room was a great size, very clean and quiet. the beds and pillows were really comfortable. breakfast is good, great choice. however we did have to ask for various things […] to be replenished ie fruit juice, milk, eggs. it was busy on our first morning and the staff are lovely but it took at least 10 minutes for the eggs to come, even though the waitress said they were just coming. it's a buffet so self service but not for all it would seem!! while we were there lots of people asked the waiting to staff to fetch them juice, coffees, sparkling wine (available to help yourself if you wanted it) we didnt really understand this as it just seems plain lazy!!! but that said this is a great hotel, very good value, only a 15 minute walk from the train and bus station and minutes away from the beautiful sights of Ljubljana. the staff are all very polite and speak excellent English. Pleasntly surprised. Location excellent. Large room & bathroom. All Mod. Cons. Sorry we did not spend more then one night. Ljubljana a small beautiful clean city, Enjoyed our stay & tours. The people very friendly & make tourist very welcome. Unfortunately we stayed there on Sunday & most of the stores were closed.

This is a fantastic hotel! As a family of 4 we had a deluxe room which was very spacious and very comfortable bedsThe room was clean and overall the stay was very relaxing.The staff were very pleasant and helpful.The breakfast was delicious as there was a big choice of food. I really enjoyed this hotel and would highly recommend it to others.

This hotel really wants to please. From the friendly check in onwards, staff could not do enough. A quiet room was what we asked for and what we got. Two generous twin beds. Block out light curtains. Mini bar with alcohol ( a rarity these days). Free Internet. Aircon that worked. Big bathroom with tub and shower over. Lots of space to lay out your toiletries. […] Breakfast was a huge buffet of hot and cold food, with "champagne" too if you wanted some. There was a free glass of "champagne" as you passed through reception in the evening. A free bottle of wine with your reasonably priced and well cooked 3 course meal. This is a wonderful city, quite a gem in a country that should be rated so much higher in Europe. This is a true four star hotel and in an outstanding spot. Walked out the door and everything is right there. The hotel was great, even though a gym junkie didn't use the facility as it was allmost too tight to workout in and so hot with glass roof...looks […] pretty in pictures but not a great space in reality. That aside, everything else about this place is exceptional. The internet was a bonus in a relatively quiet spot in the foyer. Staff were friendly enough and quite professional and even though may seem abrupt are more than happy to instruct about how to get out and about. All the contractors were so polite and quiet in continuing to upgrade the hotel. So impressed with this place and its location. Could have had more time here and would have been happy to stay here. We stayed 2 nights. We foudn reception very helpful -we called reception asking for information about concerts in town. The receptionist did not know, but looked up the information, called us back and then gave us a map with marked locations - very helpful. It was 3 minutes walk to the triple bridge. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to access the old Town while staying in comfort. We stayed five nights in this hotel just a block from the Old Town of Ljubljana. Things started out a little rough - the room was very dusty when we arrived, and housekeeping didn't get to our room until very late the next afternoon. The A/C worked quietly and reasonably well. The room was generally quiet. Great Hotel with good service, however avoid the restaurant. Food was great everywhere we went in Slovenia except here.

I got a very dark room with imponent empty walls and almost with no natural light. All the hotel looks very "heavy" and old-style. We see clearly that there were some efforts to reconvert an old hotel from cold war times into a modern one. Unfortunately they were far from being enough, in my opinion.

What an excellent hotel. Location is right in the heart of things. Rooms outstanding, as is the free wifi. Breakfast was outstanding, Best western spreads are usually good, this topped all previous ones. Only slight detraction is if you are at the front of the hotel be warned a popular nightclub is on a street off the other side of the road - it kept […] me awake on the first night,should have used the ear plugs they supplied with the room. I have been to the Hotel Slon three times in the last two years and each time the service has been excellent. The location is hard to beat: in the centre of the city and close to restaurants, attractions and parks. The buffet breakfast is high standard and rooms are spacious and comfortable.

When choosing a hotel for my Ljubljana trip, I was considering between Slon, Austria Trend and Union. It seemed that these three were among the high end hotels in this city. In terms of location, Slon is in a really nice spot. Its right by the old city centre, which is probably of primary interest for tourists. You just need to walk one minute to get […] there. At the end of my trip, on my way to the airport, I then saw that Austria Trend is quite far away from the centre and was glad I picked Slon over Austria Trend. Overall, the experience was pleasant but there are few things I want to point out. First, the building and interior seemed quite outdated. Also, the room for some reason lacked coziness and warm atmosphere. Also, the door of the fridge in the room had a key hole and the key was broken. The broken part was stuck in the hole...odd... A very very nice hotel, in the centre of the city, near the bus and train station. Very close to the historic centre (5 mins walk) and main pedestrain areas (just outside the main entrance). The staff were helpful and curteous. The room was plenty large enough (2 adults and 2 young children) and well presented. The inclusive breakfast was excellent […] and available for most of the morning. The hotel had an attactive bar, cafe and restaurant. The only slight negative we experienced was it was too hot inside (as were most buildings). We stayed in December when there was sub-zero (celcius) outside and had to turn off the room heating and open the windows to lower the room temperature sufficiently to make them bearable. I had a great stay. It was very clean and comfortable, the location was great, directly in the pedestrian area of Ljublijana. Sauna and gym were ok.

Definitely exceeded expectations. Rooms comfortable and clean, well equipped and good bathrooms. Breakfast excellent with wide choice, staff delightful and location could not be improved. Wonderful pastry shop attached to hotel not to be missed as well as great bar with good value happy hour. A bargain!

The room for a family of 4 costs few $ more, but offers a large suite! each room had a coffee machine (the good ones, that is), huge beds, well facilitated bathroom, and its all 3 minutes walking distance from Ljubljana's center. Breakfast was really rich and tasty all around. 2 minor downsides: Elevators are tiny and snail-slow. Great hotel in a very convenient location right off the walkplatz. The check in staff was awesome, saw that we were traveling with a large family and a long day, upgraded us to a really nice suite. Really enjoyed this hotel.

The hotel was perfectly located, close to everything you'd want to see and do. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was fine...nothing special, but certainly adequate...A/C worked very well, which was great because it was very hot at the time of our visit. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Don't let "Best Western" throw you off. This is a Slovenian Hotel right in downtown. The accommodations are wonderful and the staff is helpful and pleasant. Great breakfast was included. If we go back to Ljubljana we would choose this hotel again. And we would recommend it to family and friends.

After a long day travelling from Venice to Slovinia-we were plesantly surprised by the reception we received from the check-in staff. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend to anyone.

Hotel was a quick walk to the old town center with all the shopping and eating. The staff was very accomodating to provide brochures, maps, and setting up guided tours if needed.
