Watermark Hotel & Spa - Surfers Paradise

It is located near cavill avenue, Q1, and along gold coast highway. It has 2 double queen size bed. the beds were very comfortable. Might choose this hotel again for next trip

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the Watermark Hotel and Spa. They let us check in early as we arrived at 6am from Perth. The room was nice, great king size bed and the bathrooms were clean- not a refurbished room but was still nice. The concierge was very helpful with directions and bus information. Hotel is a 2 min walk from the beach and a bus […] stop right outside. We also tried a lot of the restaurants close to the hotel and didnt find the area too close to the nightlife of surfers but still close enough to walk in for shopping or dinner! def recommend!! The room was tiny and fairly old. The amenities was poorly maintained. The bathroom tub was black. Had to put a towel under my feet to shower.no supply to the mini bar. pool towels given were bath towels. The hotel face some serious road constructions which was unpleasant logistics and view.

We chose this hotel because of its location. It's one row of hotels back from the beach front and about five minutes walk, maximum, from the Surfers Paradise shopping area. Being five minutes away also meant that we did not hear any of the noise of the all night party life that exists in this part of the Gold Coast. That was a requirement of ours with […] young children to consider. Access to mile after mile of white, clean sand was only 100 yards away. The hotel serves first class food from a varied menu. Restaurants abound along the street from almost every nation on earth so a choice of eating was never a problem. The hotel was always clean, tidy and staff very helpful. We enjoyed a lazy morning in bed chatting as a family and room service simply returned in the afternoon to tidy up when we were away. Cost - Australia has a higher standard of living and wages than the UK and costs are reflected accordingly. You can eat cheaply here but its the old story, you get what you pay for and the surroundings come as a package. Some building work exists around the hotel as they are constructing a monorail system all around the area. Building starts early, to beat the heat of the sun, but never caused us a problem. Overall I enjoyed the stay, however felt that the hotel needs to update its rooms and SPA. resturants were very good and freindly staff at the front desk, however, when checking in they did not give any additional information on the hotel including their resturants and bizarrely that you need a seperate key card to work in the in-room safe (this meant […] a trip back down to reception 10 minutes after getting into the room). Good sized room, clean and well equiped. Location was great, just a short strole down to the beach and right at the centre of all the action. Can't think of a negative comment to make.

I had a poor experience at the watermark because I had to pay 45 dollars to park my car for 3 nights. In addition the hotel only provides a small garbage bin with no access to a larger bin we were forced to leave our rubbish around the room in between collections each day. Excellent location opposite Q1 and quiet enough at night but close enough to Surfers Paradise central for nightlife and restaurants. Two pools and a good gym.

Clean but cramped rooms for two double beds. Small bathrooms and living space with no balcony. Concierge overwhelmed at times with number of people at desk usually two.

Room & Bathroom was very small. One of the pools is always in the shade. smoking area unkept, there was always rubbish on the tables. Valet service was great as the car park was full for two out of the seven nights we stayed. The restaurants were quite pricey. We did not have a good experience at the waves restaurant due to a offer we were not entitled […] to. Dirty towels were not collected after we had room service. I would not recommend this hotel to a 4 person family, we are only 3 and we found it too small. You can only relax on the bed as there is no couch in the room. After our first room's air con was faulty they prompty moved us to another room the next night. The rooms themselves are quite comfortbale for your needs and the showers have glass full glass doors which means less puddles. On the whole cant complain to much.

The hotel is so easy to find and it is located right in the heart of surfers paradise. few minutes walking from the beach and from the restaurants/nightlife. Our room was very clean and welcoming when we arrived. We also had the breakfast buffet at Waves restaurant, totally worth it! Parking was plenty as well. I would advise people to book buffets […] and parking prior to arrival as they are much cheaper that what you would pay on spot. My only problem was the welcome at the reception when we arrived. Hard to fault this hotel. It was the first time that I have stayed there and it won't be the last. I travelled with my two children (8 and 13) and we had a blast. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were cheerful and helpful, with check-in and -out very efficient. The standard room with two double beds was very good, without being overly […] spacious (hence the 4 rating rather than 5). Waves Restaurant was great. The kids loved the extensive breakfast with a wide variety of choices and helpful staff. The choice of two pools and two spas (one of each on the eastern and western sides of the building to take advantage of the sunshine). Threadbare towels. No mini bar. If you order anything to your room that costs less than $20 then you are charged a delivery fee! We asked for two cereal bowls (we bought our own cereal from the supermarket) - were told we would get charged $3 for them to bring the bowls to our room so best to go and get them from the restaurant ourselves. We did that […] - no-one in the restaurant batted an eyelid when we walked out with two bowls and some cutlery. Some reception staff were helpful the rest were disinterested and rude! Hotel Staff should be more familiar regarding the surrounding of Surfers Paradise in order to assist first time travelers in Surfers Paradise. The Amalfi bistro only open certain days which was a bit disappointing. Location was great, quite central to everything.

It was great, the hotel foyer and bars were excellent and very luxurious. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Two pools and spa's, incase one is very busy with children etc. lol.Great stay, great price ++
