The AC was loud. The ro was a bit run down. The hotel didn't have parking space for guests, had to park in the street. Service was very good. The concierge was very nice.

The rates and staff were very friendly at the Ponce. The location is perfect within walking distance to everything. The comfort of the hotel is less than desirable. Having a murphy bed in a hotel doesn't make sense to me. It is a hotel room which usually has beds as a standard? The mattress was very hard and thin. I have stayed in boutique hotels before, and this is not one of them. The over all feeling was more of a hostile. When were arrived there were 3 news crews outside the hotel. We asked before walking in and one of the reporters told us that the two hotel restaurants were closed by the health inspector the day before. They were planning to reopen that […] day. First impressions, it appeared that instead of investing to make a true remodel, it was "taped and glued" to try and mask the worn down property. When we got to our floor, the hall was damp and humid. I reserved two rooms. My room had a VERY dirty floor. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the lounge seat in the room was not sturdy. The windows were not painted, and the door did not reach the floor. My second room was for my assistant. Instead of a bed, she was on a futon. The showers even had shampoo from a different hotel. This hotel is conveniently located near downtown St. Pete (which is really rather quiet - you can't tell you're "downtown" until people assure you that you are). I understand its not a chain hotel...but this place was terrible. I checked into my room. I got in the elevator and it smelled as though somebody wasn't wearing deodorant ...got into the room and there were crumbs on the floor, dust, poorly painted room. This hotel was great for our needs. Close to many wonderful museums, reataurants and the marina with a waterfront view.... The staff , front desk were super friendly and helpful and the maids all nice . Great location and the restaurant in the hotel was excellent highly recommended . As for the hotel its is not the boutique hotel I'm use to . The hotel was old , rooms were small . There is no parking , you have to park across the street . It is such a shame this could be such a cool hotel .

We got an older room with no view and no flat screen T.V. Our relative was in a nicer room with a view. Her room was a much better value than ours! It is a fantastic location! Tapas bar was excellent!

Dirty small rooms. Than add incredibly rude, unfriendly staff, they truly could have cared less that you pay to stay there, especially the older lady that works at night, I believe she's Indian, but she was just flat out, almost out of her way rude! Do NOT get a room here, ever!!!

I have stayed in a ton of hotels and am very easy to please. This place, however was the worst hotel I have ever stayed. It's bad enough that there is no tub (forget champagne bubble baths) and no hot water, but no warm water either, only ice cold. When I first arrived it was so chaotic and unorganized I was unable to check in, so I left and returned an hour later. My room was dirty, the bed was uncomfortable and there was a cockroach in my shower the next morning. When I told the front desk at check out, they did apologize, but nothing more. I will not stay here again.

I'd read the reviews that the location was great but the rooms were small and the beds uncomfortable. I stayed there Thursday through to Sunday. I stayed in a Queen Studio but really all the rooms are about the same size and that is small. Few rooms have any view. Bathrooms are also small. My studio had a fridg and microwave, and an unneeded Murphy […] Bed. The bed was rock solid hard and I loved it. I wish I could have taken it home. The walls are thin so you hear your neighbors and the noise in the hallway. True, the location is great in downtown St. Pete. The hotel is above a Ceviche Spainish Tapas restaurant. Very convenient to Mahaffey Theatre and nightlife of St. Pete. Only problem is at closing on Friday and Saturday there was a fight in the street in front of the hotel which I could hear on the sixth floor. The room was clean but daily housekeeping does not include a vacuum. Service was good but they don't seem to have experience running a hotel. There are no amenities except the restaurant. Poor service at front desk check in. Shower didn't drain wall and air unit had huge gap opening to outside. Thin walls...hear everything from hallway. Hard super firm bed hatted it. Couldn't sit on toliet no room in bathroom area wall in the way.

We were a group on bicycles for a weekend getaway and the hotel has no place to store bicycles but in your room (inspite of information we received when we made the reservation). There was sand on the sheets and the wake up call I requested twice never came making my daughter and I late for her appointment at All Children's Hospital. The tub was poorly patched. The staff I spoke to were nice but it doesn't change the disappointment in our stay.

While its nice to stay in a hotel that has older decor, you still expect the beds to be newer and the plumbing to work. The mattress you could literally count the springs in your back as you lay in bed. The TV (which we really weren't there to watch anyway) was the old style 24" tube style that rolled a lot between channels (which was an amusingly nostalgic […] trip to the 70's). While the hotel staff was very nice, the hotel was not very clean and smelled quite bad. Regarding the plumbing: the flow pressure in the sink and shower were both quite low.
