Friendly staff who tries hard to please. Good looking hotel and great location at the base of the Acropolis, next to the Akropoli subway station. Small room with a damp and moldy smell. We like the location, just 1/2 block from the acropolis museum and the acropolis. Nice dining area on rooftop with good views although we didn't eat there.front desk staff were nice and helpful. Rooms spacious and very clean, nice shower and bathroom. Only complaint is it was 82 F in room and quite uncomfortably hot. when asked they said they could […] do nothing because they don't switch over to A/C until April. The hotel has the best location of any in Athens. It is three short blocks from the metro station and the closest hotel to the entrance to the Acropolis. If you get a room with an acropolis view the site from your room balcony is one you will never forget. The hotel service was outstanding as well. They helped us resolve many problems after I was pick […] pocketed in Athens on my first day there. They also helped us manage through the various transportion and museum strikes that were contuously taking place during our stay. The rooms were clean and well kept up. The down side is that the rooms are very small, the shower is poorly arranged, the roof top restaurant food is fair at best, the breakfast buffet is pretty weak, and the prices are not cheap. Lovely hotel with excellent service and breakfast. But it is the hotel's location that adds extra stars. Very close and easy walk (a few minutes) to the Acropolis Museum and then an easy ten more to the Acropolis. To top it off, an excellent rooftop restaurant with views of the Parthenon and other sites. Surrounding district is nice too.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. You are minutes from everything that you would want to see and what the guidebooks tell you to see. You are the foot of the Acropolis and steps from the Plaka neighborhood. We payed extra to have a balcony which was on the front end of the hotel. We stayed on the 4th floor so we could barely hear any […] traffic. If you have the extra money, I would pay for a balcony - it was small but nice to watch the sun set on the Acropolis and have a couple of drinks. The best part is the restaurant on the top floor. We were the only ones having dinner, but it was late. The Greek Salad was delicious, and the main courses were outstanding. My husband and I felt bad because everyone else who was up there was just taking pictures, and I honestly felt it was a bit rude. At least buy a drink while you're sitting there, but that's my opinion. Overall, the Hera Hotel was clean, friendly, and in a fantastic location. We had a most enjoyable stay. The location is perfect. You are close to the Acropolis and the new museum. Our room had a view of the Acropolis. The bathroom was in good shape. The in room Internet is dial-up. This needs to change. For the money, this was a good all round hotel. I would stay here again.

The Hera Hotel was recommended by friends for the convenient location to the Parthenon and local sites. Nice restaurants up the street - so was the Plaka. The Metro was a short distance away which we took to go to the National Museum. We stayed in Athens for 2 days after our tour finished. This was the location to be. Could see some of the Parthenon […] from our third floor room. Saw it all from the rooftop restaurant who was very nice about coming up only to take photos of the Parthenon. The only negative to this hotel was the halls were not airconditioned. The roof top cafe was a delight - with outstanding view of Acropolis. And also the food was delicous as well as not too expensive. The location was terrrific.. walking distance (truly only 4 or so blocks) to the Acropolis and the Platka. As for surrounding area- best to keep your […] walks towards the Platka and not the other directions since that area becomes less desirable. We enjoyed our stay..the desk clerk was very helpful and helped book hotels for stay in Mykonos. Only complaint was the service in the roof top bar. very slow and indifferent. however, the front desk clerk's outstanding service more than made up for this.

nearly forty degrees oy on the island, and a little less in Athen. How cool to step into the desent hall of Hera. A small but cool, relaxed and nice hotel. OK they last time first gave us a smokers room - but quick said sorry and made it ok. recommended. Nice atmosphere

a cuatro pasos del museo de la acrpolis, en el mismo paseo que hay para subir al partenon. Tres calles de las ruinas de Zeus y los jardines nacionales. Y si caminas 15 minutos llegas tranquilamente al estadio olimpico y menos minutos al parlamento. Esta muy bien ubicado, casi no necesitas taxi
