Orchard Hotel - Σαν Φρανσίσκο

Pleasant helpful staff, comfortable rooms. Good level of cleanliness, (except for the outside windows!). Would have preferred a kettle rather than a coffee maker - but that is a minor niggle. An enjoyable stay all round.

We enjoyed our stay and walked everywhere, from the Hotel to the Port Bldg to Pier 41 and Fisherman's warf, but I would not recommend it unless you are good at walking. Hotel staff nice and friendly. Would have like them to tell us about the amenities. We did not ask for the fitness room until the last evening. Excellent hotel to stay.The location was 50 ft or so from cable car stop (could not hear any noise from the cable car in our room) and about three blocks from the gates of Chinatown. We parked about 30 ft from the main door and walked up to check in then the asst manager walked down with me and helped me unload 4 suitcases to bring up to the lobby.as […] I was doing the paper work he loaded them on a cart and took they up to our room with my wife(4bags because we were on a 3 week vacation and a 10 day cruise) Where do you see that?? The location of Orchard Hotel in Union Square, SFO was perfect for us because it is in the heart of the city, the center where the action is!

overall location is outstanding. walk or take cable car eveywhere. the staff is wonderful and very attentive. Mrs. Hueng, owner, intorduced herself and could not have been more gracious.

We really loved our room...The bed was wonderful and we slept like babies.... The bathroom was clean and the hot water was nice and hot and didn't take it but a few seconds to get hot. Over all we loved it!

Booked through hotels.com - good hotel and good rate. Orchard is part way up Nob Hill along Powell Street. Room was clean, comfortable and very well appointed. Older TV but otherwise 4 star quality. Would definitely stay again.

The stay at the Orchard Hotel was most enjoyable for me. The location was in an area close to all the sites that San Francisco has to offer. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. If I ever return to San Francisco I will certainly stay at the Orchard Hotel.

Very convenient to Union Square, Chinatown and Cable Car is right at the corner. The room meets the standard requirements.

Cute hotel within 5 mins walk to Union Square, Chinatown, north Beach etc. very easy to get to Fishermans wharf. Make sure you book a wine tasting tour of Napa and Sonoma, it was an amazing day!

I stayed in the St, Francis for a weekend wedding last month, and just did not care for the big hotel atmospere, long wait for the elevator, and sometime no room to get in. I love the Orchard and the price was nice through hotel.com. The room was big, looked almost new. The elevators were in front of front desk, so I felt safe. We don't go to SF very often so we weren't sure of the location, but it turned out to be very nice. It was an easy walk to Chinatown and that was one place we wanted to explore. The cost of the parking was the only shocker. We neglected to read the fine print when we were booking. That said, we discovered that the parking fee was pretty standard. The […] width of the room felt a bit small, but not cramped. We had a king bed and there was room for a TV cabinet with dresser below as well as a desk and and a lounge chair. Our room overlooked an alley, so I can't say much about the view which was probably better on the street side, but may also have been noisy. The alley was quiet. I love the location and the sleek elegant llok of the room.

My wife and I visited San Fran for the weekend and were very pleased with our choice of hotels. The entire staff was great especially the doorman. Very knowledgeable and I already want to re-book at this hotel next time we come here. I definitly recommend this hotel.

very nice staff, beds so comfy..service was friendly, friendly, friendly. easy access to all san fran. sights. and walking distance to many. No need to stay on the wharf when you can stay in a beauty like this and get to the wharf for 2 bucks... shopping, museum and much more within a few steps.. felt very safe. We stayed a week at the Orchard Hotel and found it to be a lovely place to stay. The bed was hugh and the place was very well maintained. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The Cable Cars stop 100 feet from the front door. The restaurant, Daffodils had interesting and excellent food. We have always enjoyed staying at the Orchard. The staff is always helpful, location is good and rooms are just the right size. There have not been too many upgrades, but since it is very well maintained it does not look tired like some hotels can get. Flat screen TV's would be nice though. We started staying here when they first opened on the advice […] of a friend in the hotel buisness. Had to take a break though as they got kind of pricey for our budget. But since we found a good deal through this web site it was nice to be able to return for a visit. A lovely small hotel with beautiful clean rooms in a very convenient location.

When we checked in, the A/C was getting repaired. The staff at the front desk never thought to inform us of this important fact. We found out when we called downstairs hours later. There was no ETA on when it was going to be fixed. We did ask them to bring us a fan which they did and that helped quite a bit. San Francisco is not traditionally hot, […] but it was during our stay. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is located 2 blocks from Union Square. Other than the A/C incident which did get partially fixed the following day, it was a very nice hotel which we will happily return to on our next trip. The bed was really comfortable. Soft sheets and a cozy plush mattress made getting out of bed in the morning difficult. We transferred from the Sir Fancis Drake to the Orchard Hotel once our business conference ended. We couldn't have been more pleased with the Orchard Hotel. The room was amazing and made the Sir Francis Drake look like a Days Inn. What an incredible service staff! Our room was beautiful and such a nice big room. This is a very nice Hotel but the best thing about it is it was in walking distance to China-Town, and Fisherman,'s Wharf. We only had on day but we got to see a lot.

The staff was friendly during my stay and the room was adequate and clean. However, upon returning home I found a charge of $62 on my credit card. I called the hotel and was told that the charge was for the restaurant that I never visited. When I explained this, I was told that accounting would call me. They have never contacted me and as a result I […] had to open an investigation with the credit card company. I won't be back. Customer service ended, apparently, at taking my money. Great hotel, friendly staff, great location, large room with coffee pot and lots of coffee, with large bath and bathrobes too boot.

A little worn around the edges but a nice front of house and a great neighborhood walkable to Union Square, Moscone Convention Center and lots of other tourist destinations. Older everything in the room including TV and furniture but a very good sized room -- plenty of room for two, although I was by myself on business.

We reserved a room for Orchard Hotel and actually was moved to Orchard Garden Hotel because we wanted to check in early. The receptionist offered us a better room in Orchard Garden Hotel which was down the street so that we could get into a room sooner. We were very happy!

Arrived early (posted 3:00 PM check-in) so the staff offered to store the luggage while we explored. Within 10 minutes of our return, all pieces of the luggage arrived to the rooms. We requested rooms close together (traveling with our 2 kids) - ours were adjoining!! As for the location - 100 feet from the Powell Cable car stop (Powell & Bush), 3 blocks […] from Union Square, 4 blocks from Chinatown and it seemed to be close to hundreds of eating places. Room was very clean, spacious sitting area and larger than average bathroom. Afternoon turndown service was a nice touch. Did not use the restaurant or exercise room. Nice hotel, Awesome Location. Would have been nicer if the parking was cheaper.

The Orchard hotel was the best place i have ever stayed in San Francisco. The help at the desk was great, the rooms were comfortable quiet, exquisit. The bar restaurant next to the lobby had great service and atmosphere. Short walk to union square and lots to do in the area. I would definitely stay again.

Great value and great location - really comfortable beds in particular. Definitely would stay here again - its definitely more like a 4 star hotel.

This was my second five night stay at this hotel within the last two years. All of the staff I encountered were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is centrally located, very close to Union Square. The staff was friendly and helpful in giving me directions. The hotel was clean and within easy walking distance to Union Square and Chinatown but be prepared for walking up steep hills. The trolley runs next to the hotel on Powell Street. My room was recently updated so I had a big walk-in shower (no tub) and the room was a good size. There is a restaurant […] located off the hotel lobby and a cafe next door plus other restaurants close by.
