Village Inn Motel Des Moines - Ντε Μόιν

This was a cute little motel with nice staff. It was located in a reasonable neighborhood with a little coffee shop next door that gave a discount for my hotel stay. No amenities, but I was only looking for a nice place to rest my head.

We enjoyed our stay with friendly service and the Village Restaurant had good food in fact that's the only place we ate when we were there. The 10% we received on our food was a nice touch! I will stay there again if the opportunity arises.

It was pretty nice, need better or new beds! Hard as a rock! Back hurt BAD when I got up!

There are doors on the end of the building that are unlocked at all times, it is very easy for anyone to come in off the streets. We actually witnessed someone come in the door and urinate in the stairwell in a cup. We reported it to the desk clerk and then contacted the manager. The manager said we should have called the police. Why didn't the desk […] clerk call the police and why didn't she report it to the manager until 2 days later. The location was hard to find. I drove up and down East Euclid for a while before I noticed it was BEHIND the Village Inn restaurant. Once I found the motel I noticed there were few marked parking spaces. The front desk staff was friendly, but it was inconvenient to have to walk around the building to the parking lot in the cold weather to get to my […] car after 11pm. The room was okay. The bathroom was quite small and the heater was fairly inconsistent. It was hard to regulate the temperature in the room, so I spent most of the night either totally on top of the covers or completely underneath them. Helpful staff, but did not feel safe in the neighborhood. Thankfully, the locks on the doors were very strong. The room was functional, but that was about it.

but only problem with address ,that hotel has wrong address online .maybe it will be E EUCLID AVE .its showing 1348 Euclid Ave.thats wrong address .

This hotel was really nice and clean and right next to the Village Inn resturant whiuch had very good food and was pretty fairly priced. This i s a nice place to stay.

You have the address incorrect, so we went the wrong way. It should read EAST Euclid Ave. The hotel didn't have any conveniences like hair dryer, shampoo. Not that that would keep me from staying somewhere, but would be nice. It was very clean though, and the front desk reps were extremely nice!

They need to have their address as EAST Euclid. My TomTom took me to the wron address because their address is on East Euclid not just Euclid. I also believe they shoud put locks on the hallway doors as anouther reviewer stated. Good Biker Hotel

A serviceable motel in a more or less industrial-looking part of town.

I paid extra for a non-smoking room with fridge and microwave on hotels.com. When we showed up, they did not have a non-smoking room with fridge/microwave (they did have a smoking room with) but still charged us the increased cost despite us requesting the regular rate for a non-fridge/microwave room. Not a great looking place, but was clean, quiet and close to our destination. Perfect for our needs, which was sleeping. Very, very small bathroom.

If you are looking for a hotel that you are just needing for a short stay this is perfect. The only downside is that there is no pool but the 10% off at the Village Inn helps make up for that. Also the address should be East Euclid Ave. That way you won't get lost like we did and just happened to come up on it.

An older hotel, that once upon a time rated four to five stars. It would have been very nicely laid out. Having current amenities That was then, this is now It is an older hotel on the verge of being shuttered by the local Health Dept/ Building Inspectors. This motel is located next to a Village In restaurant, which has fantastic food, and is next door to both a Family Dollar, for small purchases, and a major grocery store. I found it very convenient to stay here, and the folks were very nice.

I was very disappointed staying at the hotel this time. I stayed there in February and everything was fine. It was very quiet and the service was good. This time the shower did not work at all and I had to switch rooms. The room I went into smelled badly and the television got maybe 10 channels.

easy to locate,in an industrial type area,easy access to some shopping and required services,wouldn't be an area that you would feel comfortable walking around in,But the staff was friendly,room was clean,was what we expected at the price range.

the hotel is close to downtown and the state capital. the front desk people were friendly. Good price for a nice room. Yes, I would stay again.

This hotel was in a terrible neighborhood where I did not feel safe even getting out of my car. There were people wandering the parking lot at all hours of the night. The security was horrible, anyone off the street could enter the building where our room was. The service was dismal, with the front desk worker being extremely unwelcoming and unhelpful. […] I reserved a king bed and was put in a room with a full bed, which made my night very uncomfortable. It was OK - good value for the money. Clean Room

I would describe this motel as adequate. One thing to note is if you are looking up directions, make sure you enter this address as being on the East side of town. We spent a half hour looking for the motel because the address was not specific to what side of town it was located. The room was clean and adequately furnished. It was centrally located […] and it was easy to get to a main road. There is a restaurant within walking distance of the motel. The bed was somewhat hard and you could really feel the springs in the mattress. As the title says, you get what you pay for. We stayed here one night on our way south for Thanksgiving. The person at the desk was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and pleasant. Our only complaint is that the mattress was too firm. For the price, and for a single night stay like we had, I was satified.

Okay, so the hotel was good enough for what we needed it for. We just came to town to pick up a car, and drive it home. The hotel was a few miles from where the car was, so I booked it. Checked in, the staff was friendly and everything went fine. Got to the rooms (which were clean by the way) and noticed there was not a clock. Asked my dad who stayed […] in another room, and the same thing, no clock. Found it kind odd. Other than that, the nearest intersection was kind of loud, but it didn't seem to bother any of the other people who traveled with me. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable

just the right size, great loc to get back & forth to drake university and to all shopping malls

Very nice comfortable place to sleep near midtown Des Moines. Obvious pride of ownership of an independent motel trumps big chain advertising and mediocrity every time. These folks enjoy being good hosts. We will surely stay there again on our next visit

The hotel was clean and close to where we were going. The staff was polite and helpful. The only problems we found were that each room only had 2 pillows per bed and no blankets. They had sheets and a bedspread. There were no extras for people who wanted them. There was no pool but that wasn't necessary for our trip. My trip was from S.F. to Michigan and we stayed in 3 hotels. This hotel was more expensive than the others, but the motel's service, location and cleanness was the worst one. I really think for this price I should've get better service.

The hotel was OK for the price. A little hard to get to, had to turn around if not going the right direction. A little noisy in the mornings, the doors are hard to close and you have to slam them. You can hear them all up and down the hall. Glad to have a restaurant next door - gives 10% off for hotel guests.

Very helpful service, easy location to find, the room was clean, inexpensive, and the free wireless internet was also a nice touch. I would recommend staying here if you are in Des Moines for a few days and looking to stay at a place that is centrally located that won't destroy your budget.
