Mandarin Oriental Manila - μΑκάτι

The hotel service personnel would come in room without knocking. This happened three time in three days. I was told there was a special deal for the use of club membership but was charged differently at end of check out.

Bit of noise caused by waterproofing work during the day. Fortunately my room was away from it. Room was clean and staff were very helpful. No free WIFI in our room Php1000 which seemed a bit high, however I managed to get a good signal for free in the top floor bar. This hotel offers a great overall experience, however the room was a little old. It is in desperate need of renovation. Nicely set up but very old feel.

Booked this hotel from the recommendation of my family. Upon arriving to the hotel, staff was very helpful with the bags and the check-in was great. We requested for King size bed but unfortunately the crew filming the new Bourne movie took over most of the hotel, so they did the next best thing, they've put together 2 double beds side by side, which really was no problem with us (our 2 infants sleeping with us). Had a bad experience with check in. Got to hotel at noon, check in was at 2:00, so we had lunch and came back. Staff was busy, so we went shoping and came back again. This time we were asked to wait in the sitting area, while the checked on our room. we waited 45 minutes, that lady never updated us. I went back to the check in desk again...finally 20 […] minutes later we got to our room, that smelled heavily of paint. we complained and the maintenace guy said it was an airfreshener (paint scented, i guess). we bith got strong headache, and had to go ask for another room. after we got in the new room everything was great. We had a perfect stay at The Mandarin Oriental! Great service and very good location. You can walk to grennbelt and Glorietta shoppingmall or just take a taxi for aprox 100 PHP..

You can tell this used to be a really great, fancy looking hotel. If you decide to stay, be prepared to lower your standards to accept that this hotel - especially in the guest rooms - has suffered wear and tear over the years. You cannot compare it or expect it to live up to newer Mandarin Oriental hotels. The service was also a little bit rough around […] the edges or stiff compared to other Mandarins I've been in. Could be a cultural thing or could be a lack of training. Polite enough but could learn a thing or two from the Mandarins in Hong Kong and Macau. I found the Mandarin in Manila was not as accommodating. Also, there were a lot of ants on the floor when I ate at their all day dining restaurant, Paseo Uno. Don't know how they got in but I feel they should not have been there since it is an indoor restaurant. The stuff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was nice inside but might need some liftup on the outside cause it lokks like it´s falling apart. However that´s not the most important thing. Moved after three days. I once loved this hotel. It is getting on in years and is showing it.

When you say Mandarin I expect something amazing and special. The outside of this property is run down and looks like a county jail. The inside lobby is nice but the rooms carpet, furniture and showers are very run down and in desperate need of updating. Now I know why the rate was what is was. Penisula Down the street is where I shiuld have stayed. […] It is more expensive but when you factor in free internet, free vouchers for food and location to things to do, its the much better choice. Arrived for 1 night to avoid the chaotic nature of the Manila New Year. Check in was busy.... the hotel seemed a bit overwhelmed with the 10 people checking in. Was assigned a King room (two twin beds pushed together) . When booking with Hotels.com, was told by the agent (via chat) that our room would accommodate 2 adults, 2 children. The hotel thought […] this room would suffice... I am guessing the error is on Hotels.com's side. The stay was uneventful, the hotel is located in Makati but not walking distance to much. Did not do anything at the hotel so cannot comment on the facilities. Breakfast was included and the buffet on a very very busy Jan 1 was run flawlessly ( kudos to the staff). The main reason why I chose Mandarin Oriental during my visits to the Philippines compared to other 5 star hotels was because of the excellent hospitality and services provided. I wanted to thank Martin(manager) for your assistance during my missed flight back home. You went beyond your duties eventhough you have not clock in yet. Bravo!

While you are paying five star prices for this hotel it is old and dated. Fixtures and fittings are out of the seventies. Wall paper is coming off walls and bath room was mouldy. So many staff hanging around the entrance, you have to say good morning ten times before you can get out of the Hotel. While at the swimming pool service was non existant. We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for a couple of days while we were trying to find a house to move into in Manila. We had stayed in a suburb for a week in a cheap hotel with two kids and two adults and all our luggage in one small room, so moving to the Mandarin Oriental was a breath of fresh air (for only a few more dollars per night). They offer […] truly amazing service. They quickly learned the names of our small children and greeted them whenever we passed. They helped us in every way possible, including getting seconds for our 1 1/2 year old in the restaurant. I would recommend this hotel if you are on a business trip. I was on vacation and due to all the business people I felt like being at work. The staff were all very nice. The only negative point for us was: the bathroom.The shower had stains and the flush didn't always work.

The hotel is a bit dated but the staff and service go a long way to make up for any deficiency in the hotel or location.

Nice Hotel that makes you feel secure and taken care of. When you leave in a cab they remind you go by meter and not fixed price, They write down the cab nr for security reasons and if you forget something in the cab. The hotel met all of my expections. I will stay there again the next time I'm in Manila.

Everything was going well until our last day when a large cockroach came out of the closet. Needless to say, Mandarin has to review their entomology program. In view of this, I will probably consider other hotel/s next time my wife & I visit Manila.

Great service, location, free shuttle to nearby malls. Very nice pool area. Check in and out was easy and fast. Restaurants in the hotel is a bit pricey. Needs to update television.

This hotel is one of the finest in the Philippines and is located in the Makati area of Metro Manila. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is eager to help you and all things considered, the hotel is located conveniently to the stock exchange, Ayala Triangle, and Makati shopping.

I have just stayed at The Mandarin in Manila. My first time there. I have stayed at other hotels in the locality. I was recommended it by a friend so I took their advice and booked. My stay at the Mandarin was exceptional. Every staff member went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable every minute of my stay. I stayed at the Mandarin for over a week under unfortunate circumstances and each staff member was excellent. The Mandarin Oriental is a beautiful hotel with an intimate setting. My children, husband, and I enjoyed the pool (which felt secluded even though the hubub of Manila was on the other side of the wall) and the morning breakfast buffet at Paseo. We also spent time in the hotel lounge in the evening to listen to the pianist and have some snacks and drinks. […] All the people at the hotel were helpful, accommodating, and genuinely friendly. The service was very good, but the food was mediocre and the rooms and hallways are in desperate need of redecoration. Good location, nice pool area. Until it's renovated, I would recommend only if it's cheaper than other high-end Makati hotels.

プールサイドの雰囲気が良く、泳がなくても楽しく過ごせる。 朝食が別料金だったのが残念。グリーンベルトからは少し離れているので買い物には不便。 建物自体が古く、内装もそろそろ改修時期に来ている。

Останавливались в отеле на одну ночь перед перелетом на Боракай. В целом отель понравился, конечно на 4+ он не тянет, но только потому что не новый. Видно что отель построен давно, а так тянул бы на все 5 звезд. Единственное, что не понравилось, мы останавливались с двумя детьми 6 лет и 1год, при бронировании это указывали, но номер дали с одной кроватью, […] правда king size.
