Turner Hotel Rome - Ρώμη

It's not the largest, most luxurious or close to the center hotel in Rome, but it's perfectly okay if you're on a budget. It's located just outside the walls of the city but with a very ptractical bus station right outside and a metro station nearby. It's also a 30 minute walk from the center. The room was quite small but to be fair, we had booked an […] economy double, so it's possible there are larger rooms. Staff at the reception were helpful enough with one girl in particular being very friendly and pleasant. Don't expect grandeur if you're staying here, but a functional, reputable and well-priced hotel. TURNER is very clean and nice hotel in retro style and at very good position in Rome near public transportation (bus stop in front of the hotel’s door). Walking distance to Termini and Bila Borgeze. Staff friendly and good breakfast.

Business or Leisure in my opinion. I didn't get on my flight and I needed a convenient hotel to stay at for the night that was close to the main train station in Rome an that had wifi. I found Hotel Turner had a single room for 56$ and it fit my requirements so I booked it. I was expecting no-frills, just a basic hotel. I got lost getting there, because […] I was in a rush and hadn't looked up proper directions, so I walked into a hotel to ask for a map and directions. It was really fancy and I was so pleased that they were even willing to help me. Funny story - it ended up being hotel turner where I had my reservation. I was shocked that I got such a cheap room at such an awesome place. The staff was very helpful, breakfast included (didn't eat it, but it was available!) free wifi all over the hotel, they even had a lounge with an available desktop computer for use, on the roof they have a very charming patio with chairs and and inside bar. My room was perfect for what I needed. Small, but one person doesn't need much room. And if I wanted to spread out then, the down stairs lounge was available. Overall, I had a great stay there. it was a charming hotel, with a convenient location. not in the heart of things (which I don't particularly enjoy) but so close to the station with all the and buses and even right outside their place the 60 bus which goes to the other main bus area in the city. Great service, clean rooms, the biggest downside was that there were two twin mattresses pushed together to make out queen bed so we were falling through the crack the whole time. Location is great, close to the bus stop and not far from termini station.

Staff unfailingly friendly and polite; room small but upgrade offered when a larger one became available; delicious breakfasts. Loved the very Roman decor (abundant marble, mirrors and gilding).

My daughter and I were traveling together. When we checked in, we went to our room only to discover that instead of the two twin beds we requested when we booked, we had one twin bed. We went back down to the desk where we got an arguement. She showed me a paper that said one or two twin beds. I showed her mine that said two twin beds. The reservation […] was for two adults. After about a half hour, she reluctantly gave us another room. The second room was not nearly as nice as the first one (not withstanding the bed situation). We stayed here for our last night in Italy after arriving from Florence. The property is well laid out and very ornate. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is just steps outside the city walls and there are many restaurants nearby. Free wifi and continental breakfast are an added bonus. I would recommend this hotel.

A great little boutique hotel with a very baroque atmosphere. It was a very comfortable place to stay and their staff were very helpful to assist with recommendations and planning agenda's whilst in Rome. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city so to commute to the areas of interest you would need to either walk for approx. 30 minutes or […] catch the Metro which was only a 5 minute walk away. For those with a life-line to the cyber world you will struggle to gain web access, even though Wi-Fi is available and free the range is poor and most rooms don't have a signal. You generally would need to hang around the communal lounge area to get an average signal and even then it's so-so. Breakfast - the staff were very welcoming and pro-active, as for the range of food well it wasn't that great. Unless you're in to eating cakes and super-sweet pastries then you'll be left slightly hungry. Saying that they do offer savoury options of cold meats and a bacon & egg plate at an additional cost although I wouldn't bother because they're not very nice (processed meats and super salty eggs). The hotel is excellently located 20 mins walk easy walk from the central railway station. There is also a metro station with 10 mins walk to get directly to the old city and a bus stop right out side. The roof top bar is a nice place to relax and is open until 01:00 every night. Breakfast is good although espreso from a Nespresso machine is an absolute travesty in this country. The only serious problem is that my room was quite noisy when people were in the corridors and the cleaning staff thought it acceptable to have conversions at full volume outside my door at 8.00am on Sunday morning. This is a lovely hotel in a good location. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which gives you easy access to all the main attractions of Rome. Our room was exactly like the pictures on the website, my only criticism of the room would be the seal around the bath and shower made it look a bit grubby and not in fitting with the rest of the room […] and hotel which was gorgeous. All the staff we encountered were extremely pleasant and helpful. I would recommend the hotel and would use it again if I ever am lucky enough to go back to Rome. Tips: Nice, reasonable restraunts in neighbouring streets. A great little pizza shop about 50 yds from hotel. If you use the bus you need to buy tickets from the machine at the bus stop and then put them in a machine on the bus to be validated. Apparently there is a 100 Euro fine if the conductor gets on and you haven't got a ticket or it isn't validated. I wouldn't bother with a guide for the Collesseum but would for the Vatican. Overall the hotel was of an acceptable quality, the rooms were comfortable with plenty of storage, the air conditioning was great in one room of our two rooms but struggled to keep the second room at a comfortable temperature, on asking at reception to check it, they said that they would fix it but there was no difference. The bar on the roof top is nice and well priced, and a good way to relax late in the evening. The only problems were that renovations being undertaken in the hotel were noisy from approx 7:30am and the breakfast was not of a suitable standard, the pastries tasted stale and the bacon and eggs were of a very poor standard, cold (being kept warm by 2 candles under the big silver tray) and the bacon was just like slices of ham with bones in it. We stayed for 4 nights-there were 4 of us in the room. Found the room damp and darkish-however the air conditioning was amazing!! Our rate included the breakfast but we missed out on it on 2 days because we slept in with the time change and the breakfast cap-i-tan was somewhat militant about not having anything after 10 am. I would say my stay there in Turner Hotel Rome, was quite pleasing. The place is not far from Terminal, about 10-15 mins walking. The neighbourhood is quite alright. The weather in Rome during June 2012 was very hot around 33 degrees celcius. The AC was not working in the room and when asked at the reception the lady said it will be rectified within a day. We spent 4 nights in this room without AC and in terrible heat. The hotel itself is reasonable but not very confortable.

Not a 4*hotel, a 2* would be more accurate. Yes the reception area is gorgeous with all the marble and painted ceilings, crystal chandeliers etc, but these are of absolutely no use to you in your room. We upgraded to a Double superior room via Expedia but all this gets you is a desk, 2 chairs and a wardrobe. I thought they'd made a mistake but we checked. […] There is limited space to put clothing and no-where to put your suitcase. + points : location, access to public transport, some helpful staff, room clean - points : air conditioning not working despite reporting it numerous times; bathroom too small, shower door didn't close properly, nowhere to put your toiletries except on the sink by the taps. Every time you took a shower the bathroom floor got soaked. You had to climb over the bidet to get in the shower in the 1st place, otherwise there was a very small gap between the toilet and bidet that you inch through to get into the shower. I think the sink basin may have been bigger than the shower tray. Hairdrier held together with sellotape. Ugly view of a brick wall from the window. Breakfast, same everyday, ok if you're only staying for a couple of days, but after 3 days it became monotonous. If you like your hotel as a 4* avoid this one, otherwise get a very good room rate. I booked eoom for 1 person, it was small & dingy with a window that opened out to a wall with no natural light. I complained and they showed me another room only about 5per cent better. I told them it wasn;t acceptable either. The third choice room was far better, large and bright with lovely window opening onto the main street with a lovely breeze […] coming thru. I was a little worried about my hotel choice after reading some reviews but I needn't have been. The Turner Hotel was everything I had hoped. I chose the shared shuttle service between the airport and hotel - it was extremely efficient and I definately recommend it. Fabric lined the walls, fantastic high ceilings and chandeliers, just as I'd wanted. The beds were firm and extremely comfortable. The room was cleaned daily and the beds made. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and very polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very good. Great selection of mainly cold buffet items. Scrambled egg and lightly cooked ham, were warm. Buses stop outside the hotel for the colosseum (60) and a 62 goes to the Vatican, following alot of the sightseeing bus route for alot less. Bus tickets are 1 euro for a single journey or all day for 4euros which can also be used on the metro. This hotel is a real gem. Fantastic value for the price. I cannot praise it enough. I could not have asked for a better experience. Expedia gave me an incredible deal (I paid approximately the price of two nights, for a seven nigh stay). The hotel is four stars, but it could easily be five. Porta Pia / Nomentano is a great location, connected by buses to major landmarks in the city, as well as a metro stop (Castro Pretorio), a five […] minute walk away. The room and bathroom were small, of course, but very typical of European accommodation size standards. The decor is elegant and beautiful. My only objections were to the breakfast and to the limited bathroom supplies provided by housekeeping. The breakfast, if not included, is expensive, and either way is of mediocre quality and limited selection. The housekeeping service did a very good job cleaning the room, but I twice ran out of soap and toilet paper from their failure to replenish it. Service at the hotel was excellent, with most of the staff proficient in English, German, Spanish, and French. If you want to walk its about 15 - 20 minutes walk to the sights and as Rome is such a lovely City it is nice to walk. This is a historic building with lots of charm. Great location and easy access to bus lines to go to all the sites in Rome. The hotel staff went out of their way on several occasions to ensure our stay was the best. Would stay at the Turner Hotel next trip to Rome!
