We were in town for a birthday party and the party started at 2, so we stopped by the hotel around 1pm to see if we could check in early. The computer system was down, but they said we could check in early and proceeded to give us two room keys to two separate rooms that we reserved. When we came back at 9pm to stay for the night we stopped at the front […] desk and the receptionists was very rude and stated that those rooms we were given had been given to someone else, glad we didn't just go to the rooms! Perfect stay, will be back again.

We were there on a family trip loved the hotel everthing was clean . Room clean and spacious . Indoor pool was awesome they also had a jacuzzi my girls loved it. The breakfast was worth getting up for ...lots of variety . On the bad most of the hotel staff not friendly at all . Our checkin was fast rushed and not welcoming at all ..it was our first […] time to Virginia i had a few questions but she didnt give us a chance to ask she gave us our room key and walked away. We spent 6 nights in this hotel and were very satisfied with all aspects of our stay here. The rooms were large and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was great with both hot and cold selections. The lady in charge of the breakfast area, Ms. Anne ,was wonderful. She did an exceptional job of welcoming every guest for breakfast and making […] sure that everyone had everything that they needed. On her two days off there was a marked difference in the breakfast area! The staff members at the reception desk were always pleasant and helpful, The hotel was close to the highway so there was easy access to local attractions. Pros: Room was nice. Very clean. Staff was extremely friendly. Cons: Internet service was out of range in hotel room, sink was completely clogged and had to use bath tub to simply brush my teeth. Overall it was ok. I made due. Could of been a better experience.

This hotel was booked through hotels.com at a very good price. There were other hotels also at an attractive price, but not having stayed at a Wingate before I decided to give it a try. I'm certainly glad I selected Wingate as it was a very good experience. I'm sure that I will be staying at their hotels in the future.

This hotel was extremely clean and well taken care of. The front desk staff was very helpful with the guest service of faxes. They were also familiar with the best route on going to the airport. And finally their suggestions on local eateries was great.

Got a great deal on hotels.com. The only problem was the heater wasn't working in the pool. The water was freezing.

good news - convenient to airport and good price bad news: 1. sink in bathroom very slow draining 2. we had to call front desk to ask neighbors kids to be quite 3. wake up call for 430 started at 345 and every 5 minutes until 4; upon telling front desk she admitted they were having problems

I had a wonderful time. The was friendly, service was good and so was the breakfast in the morning. I enjoy my stay and definitely stay there again.

The hotel could not have been better and just a 5 minute drive to the airport.

Nice place to stay for my weekend workshop at a nearby college. Price was great compared to others in the area.

It saddens me when a hotel works hard to get good reviews and and something seemingly small happens. The accent pillow on one of our beds was badly stained with what appeared to be blood and placed up against the pillows our head was to be layed upon. The staff should have thrown the pillow away and I know they saw it.

Internet was in biz center not working, front desk did not know how to fix it. No glasses in room, front desk said they could not do anything about it until the morning crew came on. Front desk could not locate the shuttle driver when it was time to go to the airport.

Best part of our week long stay was the wonderful woman who puts together the breakfasts every morning. What a gem! The worst was the mold in the bathroom shower and the very little done by the daily "maid service". My husband enjoyed the pieces of fitness equipment available and my son enjoyed the indoor pool. Closer to the airport than it looks as use of back roads avoids the heavy traffic. There were mixed messages from staff about shuttle availability, so we ended up with taxi for early morning flight. Excellent TV channel choice.

This is a great hotel for a decent price...nice comfortable room....good breakfast.....my only complaint is when I checked in my room key did not work.....after several tries by the maintenance guy still could not get into room....the lady Anna at the front desk was really rude and made me feel as though it was my fault the door was broken....she was […] not concerned by the fact that I was in a hurry to get into a room becuase I needed to get dressed to be somewhere......I will be staying at the candlewood suites on my nxt trip to Virginia instead of this hotel :( Διαβάστε περισσότερα

My stay at the hotel was a pleasant one. The rooms were clean and well kept. My only complaint is that the internet speed was extremely slow.

Hotels near ORF seem to be either inexpensive and questionable, and expensive. There are relatively few mid-priced hotels in the area; however Wingate fits that description and offers a good value. The airport is 5 minutes away (via the back road) and I didn't find the jet noise to be a problem. My room was nicely furnished with a flat screen TV with […] the usual cable channels, a micro/fridge, and a comfortable king bed. The breakfast buffet was well done, ranging from waffles, to egg/sausage English muffins, cereal, juice, etc. Neighborhood is nice. NB: The hotel advertises and offers wireless internet. My room, and I assume the other rooms, also had Ethernet connections. However, I was unable to pick up a strong enough wifi signal to connect . I notified the front desk and was told to use the ethernet connection. No problem, but it meant being tethered to the desk and if I only had a tablet (I had both) I would have been out of luck. The signal from a hotel next door was strong enough for me to get online wirelessly. My husband and I stayed at the Wingate last weekend while visiting friends in VA Beach. We had a quick and easy check in, and they upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge. Awesome! The room was really nice... Lots of space, very soft bed, nice big clean bathroom. I also liked that they had Nuetrogena products in the bathroom. Continental breakfast […] was pretty good, very standard. There were only 1 small drawback for us: our room was right next to the ice maker, and that thing was LOUD. It woke us up twice. The only thing we found is when we went to take a shower there was no soap. We called the front desk to see if they would bring some to the room and the front desk clerk said they were short handed and we would have to come get it.

The workers where very friendly I enjoyed my stay I will be back again

My company put me up at the Wingate for a week. There were issues with the power the first two nights and they resulted in absolutely no sleep, as the alarm went off multiple times in the middle of the night. When I called the front desk to find out the problems, her response was, "it's really annoying for me because everyone is calling the front desk […] and there is nothing I can do about it." Had a great experience. People were great and Hotel was clean and neat

If you are traveling on business, this is not the hotel for you. The staff is not concerned with the needs of the business traveler.

We stayed at this hotel for a week. The housekeeping staff was fantastic! The continental breakfast was good everyday and there was plenty for everyone. Just don't let your under 16 year old child try to make a waffle on their own. The waffle lady will get them! The pool was difficult to handle because there was so much chlorine in it that it burned […] our eyes and respiratory systems. There were also people swimming in their underwear and bras. We asked to change our room, due to the upcoming hurricane, and the frontdesk staff was very accommodating. The elevators stopped working during the hurricane (glad we moved from 4th floor to 2nd) and for days after, but the electricity stayed on for all but 10 seconds! The staff at Wingate by Wyndham is horrible!! They were not friendly at all. They actually made my family and I feel very unwelcome, almost as if we were a burden on them. The room smelled like mildew, and the shower had mold all over it. We had pillows with holes and stuffing was coming out (nasty)! The pool had a light that was literally floating […] in the water. The underwater light had somehow come out of the side of the pool and was just floating. The staff didn't know anything about it, and we wouldn't go in the water until it was fixed (the pool was never closed). So we couldn't swim the first day we were there. We only decided on this hotel because it was labor day weekend and the hotels closer to the beach were booked. I would never stay here again and I would not recommend anyone else stay here either!! The hotel itself was very nice and clean. My suite was very nice. Just wished I had stayed longer to enjoy it more. It is close to major attractions and the hotel staff were very helpful.

This hotel was clean and staff was friendly. The road next to the hotel is a back way without any red lights or highway travel. Took a maximum of 7 minutes to get to ORF.

I had drove for seven hours and just wanted to relax. I was able to get that after getting to the hotel. My friend & I stayed overnight and was really pleased with the hotel. The front desk staff was also helpful. I plan to come back real soon.

I put up a worker of mine who had recurring business at Norfolk Airport. He requested a shuttle bus in the morning and a shuttle bus back, hardly seems excessive. I like to tip the drivers, but not if the first words out of their mouth are some variant of "it's gonna cost you." My worker ended up getting hassled to the point that he wound up taking […] the taxi. I don't know if this is general policy or just a bad apple. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth over what was otherwise a pretty good hotel for the price. We ended up moving to the Holiday Inn. My fiance and I came to Viriginia to welcome my brother home who was returning home on the ddg96 Bainbridge ship. We stayed two nights at the Wingate by Wyndham...It was very nice, very clean and all the employee's were very helpful great breakfast bar in the mornings.....great place to stay next trip we take we will be back!

this is a great hotel. friendly, great breakfast. usually no eggs, sausage, etc. this breakfast had it all great. easy to get to all the sights

The hotel was nice. My only problem was the work out equipment was old needs to be updated. The pool area was descent but I asked for towels and haven't seen them yet I had to walk to my room soaking wet.

Location was great, price was very good.

It is listed as an airport hotel, but unless I was not paying attention it is not exactly convenient to get back and forth to the airport. The room was nice enough, and the staff was very friendly and I would have no issue staying there again.
