Comfortable, clean, helpful staff and in good location

Hotel was conveniently placed accross the road from a reasonably priced car park. We were a group of friends getting away for the weekend and it was a 5min walk away from the city centre to get to an american pool and snooker club and then just a 15min walk into the city centre to get to the main bars and restaurants (although it is across the road […] from a frankie and Bennies. It was a nice hotel, very clean, but the rooms were a little warm! we couldn't cool them down unless we opened the windows but that let in a lot of traffic noise that thw windows totally shut out! Staff friendly and gud service. Bed a bit hard and room far too warm so found it hard to sleep. Shower was nice apart from the shower head loose and shot water at a funny angle. Was a nice breakfast if a bit pricey.

The rooms were very clean. The staff friendly and the breakfast service was excellent. I will definitely stay at the Ibis chain again.

Hugely expensive parking - £10 per day...you can book it over the phone but DO NOT do it as soon as you arrive as the 24 hours starts ticking AS SOON AS YOU BOOK. I arrived on Sunday and booked at around 5:30pm which meant it expired at that time on Friday. I am currently in the much cheaper Etap 'sister' hotel and I am just as happy here for much less […] dosh...all it lacks is the fancy in-house TV-based admin thing. Fresh soap & towels every day, en-suite, and reasonably-sized room, pub and restaurant next door and corner shop just behind. I stayed here for two nights; 6th and 7th February, 2012, as I had a hospital appointment on 7th, early in the morning. On arrival at the hotel, I found the receptionist efficient, but not particularly friendly or outgoing. I was asked to swipe my debit card; something which I was unhappy with, although assured it was for security reasons. The room […] was very basic; no comfortable chair, just a hard desk type seat by the window. The small en suite bathroom/shower was spotlessly clean, with ample soap, towels etc. The main 'down side' was that I had to pay full rate for the second night. Had I booked both nights through 'Hotels.com' this would not have applied. Considering this was a 'room only' booking, I was not very pleased about this, and did not consider it to be good value for money, which is why I would not recommend this hotel to others. Upon arrival we greeted with smiling faces and very helpful staff in the fact that they took time to explain where different shops etc were as well close car parks in the area. The room was in great condition very clean and tidy. Overall it was great stay the staff were very helpful, the room was excellent and the food was great too.

Very nice hotel, only problem was it is situated a bit out of the way from any attractions in Leeds. Plus the surrounding area isn't the prettiest

Really liked this as a cheap hotel with no frills, just the room with a clean, comfy bed and lovely shower. Only gripe was the temperature of the room, it's centrally controlled and was quite hot during the night but otherwise staff were superb. Centrally located, near city centre and main rail station, and also on the main route from the airport. The mattress was a bit thin, and hence the bed a bit hard. Nice Chinese restaurant next door.

Handy for the centre of Leeds, though trying to navigate the very confusing road system around the hotel is difficult! If you check in first and then try and find somewhere to leave your car, the carpark (public pay and display) is in theory only over the road, but due to all the one way roads you have to drive in what feels like circles for ages to […] try and find your way into it. Pefect location if you need to be close to the city centre, only a 15 minute walk to the centre of it all. The hotels is moden and clean, and the busy roads outside did not make any difference - couldnt hear them. Bed was noisy like - but everything was perfect and the breakfast good.

Clean and efficient hotel at a reasonable price. Nice and efficient and helpful staff. the only problem with this hotel is the parking. If you park in the Council car park opposite the parking wardens make every effort to "get" you late at night or early in the morning

The Ibis Leeds is an ideal hotel for a short stay the rooms are basic but clean and our was well kept. For the money we payed it was very good value. The food leaves a bit to be desired didn't bother with breakfast after reading comments and having first night meal when we arrived. Stay at the Ibis Leeds was fine. Rooms Ibis standard - clean and well appointed. Arrived with a dog - very straightforward £5 per night to pay The staff were universally excellent and to a man were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Ibis has clearly done some majoring on staff training. Would stay again without hesitation.

This is a budget hotel and as such the hotel is fine. Single beds are ridiculously narrow but all clean and comfortable. The problem is the car-park. The hotel is far enough out of the city centre that a car is pretty essential. The car-park is just over the road but it's a very very busy road which is part of a one-way system. Basic but clean and in handy location. Only complaint really was that when we checked in they informed us we had booked a double room - when I had specifially requested twin - did not really offer a remedy - then when we got to our room it was a twin anyway! better information/system needed. This hotel is about 10 minutes from city centre. And boy what a city centre! Loads of restaurants, miles of shops, museums, cinema. Excellent. Hotel on airport bus route, really handy. Friendly, helpful staff, great room.would Definately stay again.

Room was very clean and comfortable. More than happy to make us pizza when we came in from a night out at 5.30am. Night door staff and reception/bar staff extremely helpful. Could not have asked for better, even for a much higher price

No bells and whistles here, but clean and comfortable. None of the heating problems reported by others. Towells had seen better days, but this is one of the cheapest hotels in the city. It's a little bit out of the actual city centre but a convenient location for the University and only a mile or so to the main attractions. The surrounding area has lots of newly built blocks of flats and chain type businesses i.e. Gala Casino that you often see on out of town retail areas. Good, central location, not far from city centre, shops etc. Ideally situated for anyone wishing to visit their children/grandchildren who are attending University. The hotel has an easy welcoming atmosphere and is adequate in its facitilies. I would definitely recommend.

The Ibis in Leeds was great. The room was excellent (quite large, well-laid out, with great facilities) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Although most of the hotel amenities were fine, we ended up checking out at 01:30 hours. The room was far too hot and there was no air conditioning - it was air cooling but based on the temperature of outside, and not that of the room or the hotel itself. Therefore, it was cold outside and as a result, the room warmed up and one is not able to turn […] off the heating system. Opening the window was far too moisy even on the top floor and didn't open far enough to even cool the room down. Therefore, we ended up leaving after just a couple of hours sleep. I did receive a call from mark, the General manager, the next day, explaining the above, but no goodwill gesture or anything. Just an explanation as to why the room was so hot and why there was nothing that could be done about it. We stayed at the Ibis on my birthday, and it was great. Close to the centre so I could walk in to the shops and bars, and a reasonable price. Breakfast was lovely and worth going for, and no curfew was very handy for a night out. One criticism is the car park, which is a pay and display and is not easy to spot, being on an Island in the centre of the […] dual carriageway. Well, what can we say! Our stay was fantastic. All staff made me, my 10yr old daughter and our Jack Russell Guinness so welcome. I am surprised this is classed as a budget hotel - the staff are more akin to 5 star hotels, so the manager certainly has very capable and enthusiastic staff - all praise to her too. Again, service was faultless and staff were so kind delivering our food to our 1st floor room (I should have collected from reception), even returning with ice cream later in case it melted. I have stayed in many fine hotels all over the world and have never had such attention to detail. We were always greeted on leaving or arriving at the hotel and our room was cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. One slight downside was parking, but after I sussed out how to get to/from the car park, it was fine.
