Days Inn San Simeon - San Simeon

We were impressed with this facility. We usually stay at Best Westerns, but Days Inn is a great alternative.

Older television, remote did not work. Breakfast in the morning was waffles, muffins, Danishes, toast, cereal, apples and oranges. It was really crowded.

Not too much around but Hearst Castle and Cambria. Cambria wasa cute town, ate at Robin's. Amazing meal, try the lobster enchiladas. Room was clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was excellent. The staff, the room and the surroundings for two weary travelers could not have been better.

Our stay at Day's Inn San Simeon was short but sweet. The room was very clean and comfortable as was the bathroom and the service was good. We had a very nice meal at the restaurant and would recommend it to anyone travelling through the area.

Accommodations were a little outdated but clean. The breakfast area was extremely small, and it was hard to find anywhere to sit. I recommend going down to breakfast earlier than later to avoid the crowd.

They have mattress and box spring encasements on the bed so I know that bedbugs won't be a problem! The jacuzzi is clean, too.

The hotel employees where very friendly and nice. The room was spotless, the tv and furniture a bit dated but it was well kept and clean

Nice renovated hotel, but South of San Simeon a mile or so, so we thought we had missed it when driving Southbound. It is on a slip road by teh coastal highway. there are a few restaurants nearby, and a little grocery store. Breakfast was in a separate room & had waffles, juice , toast, cinnamon cakes,cereal etc. we only stayed one night on our way […] from San fransisco to Los Angeles. Clean & comfy room, looks like everything's been renovated. We had a overnight stay it was convenient to surrounding attractions. The room was nice, very quiet, lots of parking, I would definitely stay here again!

The sink dripped. The toilet ran. When I plugged in the light fixture over the bed, the floor was REALLY dirty (there was a dead rose!).Breakfast was cereal and toast. Coffee cups were way too small.

The room was very clean with lots of space. We were at Hearst Castle and this is just 5 minutes away so very convenient. Would stay here again.

Great location for Hearst Castle. Breakfast area was small. Hotel was very nice looking but NO elevator for second floor,we had to carry them up the stairs.The parking behind the office is small About 25 slots but they have a LARGE parking area behind main building.Just drive around the building which you have to go out to side street .Would stay there […] again. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We had a little trouble finding the hotel office in a separate building out by the road, but other than that enjoyed the stay. Our room looked like it had been refurbished relatively recently. The area where the hotel is located had a few restaurants, a package store, and a stairway to the beach. Would not stay there again.. The "free" breakfast was VERY poor ! Cold cereal, stale pasteries and warm milk left on the counter in just the plastic bottle.. A shame because the room was very nice..

Appears to be recently renovated, it was fairly quiet decent size room and not a whole lot of breakfast choices but adequate, would stay here again.

was ok and location convenient to castle and cambria- good value for price. only down heating system was locatet right next to bed. inches from head- terrible to get air blown to head while sleeping. ended up sleeping in more than chilly room as preferred cold to blower to head.

It looks fine from the outside, and the rooms appear to be undergoing a minor updating, but there are many minor annoyances that add up to a mediocre rating. Upon our arrival at 7pm, our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) tried to enter the lobby, only to find it locked. After ringing the bell, the proprietor came to the door, saw us, and only unlocked […] the door...rather than open it for us and greet us. Oh well. Our room was recently repainted, and the bedding was fine, although the comforter was thin, and the room heater was pretty loud. We had a first floor room, so when the plumbing was used upstairs, the water running down the pipes was very loud. The comp breakfast was fine and met my expectations. Hotel is new renovated so that the room and the carpet in hallway are all clean and even new. But the smell is not very well also due to the its new upgrade project. The worst is they don't have laundry facility. It is uncommon as a good and qualified motel.

The location was perfect but the staff are not 24 hours so we had to wake up the staff to get our room key. But otherwise we loved the location and room

This hotel is under new management and was undergoing extensive maintanence during our 2 night stay (heavy smell of paint and new carpeting in the halls). Although this was less than ideal, this is just a part of travel, and I actually credit the new owners for improving this facility; It looked as though they were investing quite a bit of money. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel seems to have been recently renovated so everything was working good. Internet Wi-Fi needs improvement. Overall good place to stay. I will recommend this place to all.

Very Noisy room, you can hear noise from all the surrounding rooms incl upstairs that kept us awake when the TV and showers were going at 430am!!!

Not a good hotel, under construction, thought from reviews that it should be finished by the time I booked, but wasn't. No ice machine, was told to go to restaurant next door to get ice. We stayed one night at Days Inn San Simeon as we visited Hearst Castle. Staff was nice. Hotel had some renovation going, they were replacing carpets and tiles in the hallways. Room was roomy and clean, bed not very comfortable. There is no pool, there is an oversize spa, with hot water and jets/bubbles. It was nice, but my 7 yo boy was getting too […] hot after 15 minutes and wanted to leave. We expected a pool so that was a disappointment. Breakfast is in a good size room and has your basic cereals/pastries/waffles. There are a few restaurants in the area for more options, we went across the highway for dinner. Location is good, it is about 5 minutes to Hearst Castle, and 5 minutes in the other direction to the little town of Cambria. Nothing luxurious, just an inexpensive place to rest for the night.
