"Velassaru - A True Island Paradise"
We had an amazing time during our stay at Velassaru. The service was impeccable from the moment we arrived at the airport and the Velassaru rep was waiting for us at the desk and took us directly to the speedboat. They even had scented cold towels and chilled bottled water onboard which was a nice touch. It is only about 20 minutes from the Male International […] Airport to Velassaru, but you feel millions of miles away. As soon as we arrived on the island, we were greeted with lime coolers and another guest services rep sat down with us for about 20 minutes telling us about the resort and helping us make dinner reservations for each evening of our stay. We had the Indulgence package, which was great as it allowed us to eat at any of the a la carte restaurants anytime, avoiding the buffet. And I must say, all the food was of the highest quality, both fresh and delicious. We stayed in an over-water bungalow near the reefs and from our deck were able to see two spotted eagle rays, an iridescent squid, large fish and smaller fish jumping out of the water avoiding predators. We had our own snorkel gear so we were also able to just walk down our steps and immediately begin snorkeling and viewing the beautiful fish and corals. We even saw a juvenile oriental sweetlips right under our deck, which I think is a fairly rare sighting. The Indulgence package also included a sunset cruise with champagne & canapes (which ended up being a private cruise for just my husband and I since no one else signed up), which was a great way to wrap up our stay on our final evening. We were there for New Years Eve and can't think of anywhere else in the world I'd rather be. Dinner was served on the beach and the bar furniture was all brought down onto the sand as well. There was a live band and dj and it really was quite the celebration! All in all, it was the most amazing place I've ever visited and I can only dream of someday going back. Διαβάστε περισσότερα
"Nydelig sted"
Velassaru er like bra som bildene viser. Nydelig liten øy med flott strand og klart vann. Det tar 15/20 minutter å gå rundt øyen. Strand rundt hele øyen. Flott området å snorkle og mye å se under vann. En uke barbeint (sko er unødvendig), shorts og hvilepuls!!! Bungalowene ligger rundt øyen. Standard bunglow, som vi hadde, ligger 10/20 m fra stranden […] blandt palmer. Flotte og store bungalower med utendørs bad! Beach bungalowene ligger rett ved stranden og spesielt de på østsiden av øyen lå veldig flott til (vill valgt disse i ettertid). Water-bungalowene på nordsiden ser over til Male/industriøyen, og ville ikke valgt disse. Water-villas ligger fint til mot vest - de som er vendt syd-vest ser solnedgangen. Maten er meget god og alle restaurantene serverer god mat. Vin er ganske dyr - flaske vin begynner på USD 45. Vi tok ikke all-inclusive pakke, men det var ikke så mye å spare å ikke ta den. Servicen er meget bra. Betjeningen er vennlige og serviceinnstilt uten å være påtrengene. Rommet ble ikke ryddet sikkelig de første dagene, men det bedre seg etter vi kommenterte det. Øyen ligger rett ved Male (bare 20 min med båt). Fordelen er meget kort reisevei fra flyplassen (vi var på hotellet litt over en time etter vi landet). "Ulempen" er at du ser industriområdet og Male by i horisonten. Det var ikke noe flystøy da øyen ikke er i innflyvningen til Male. Veldig stille og rolig stemning.
