Hotel Residence Miramare - Σορέντο

Asked for iron ,told to come down and get it.asked for extra blanket ,told to come down and get it. So service was not the best. Room reminded me of my daughters hall of residance room at university good thing though it was clean

The hotel staff is friendly, the view is great on some rooms, but not all. They have pool but is very small, so I doubt anyone using it, but very clean. We stayed in a family room, but the other 2 beds are too small and the blanket smells strange, the hair dryer is not well maintained and we got burned by the over heated dryer. The rates were modest compared to other hotels in the area. The room was spacious (I suggest an upgrade to the room with a sea-view/balcony). My only complaint was a musty odor in the room. We left and our clothes still smelled like our room.

The Hotel was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say is that not having a proper path outside the hotel made it quite dangerous to cross and walk down to were there was a footpath especially being on a winding road.

We stayed here in late September for a short break. We chose the hotel for its closeness to the town, views of the bay and relatively inexpensiveness. We had a studio which had a tiny kitchenette in a cupboard-was perfectly adequate and very useful for avoiding the euro which was soooo expensive. The pool and terrace were well maintained. The only draw back was the proximity of the hotel to the road- there is nothing between the entrance and the road- not even a pavement! The pavement starts on the other side of the road about 10 yds down and is fine to access unless you are very nervous about traffic or elderly and slow. The traffic noise was quite irritating when on the terrace but the views are beautiful of the bay and the road runs along past all the hotels and the coast so its probably very similar where ever you stay. Our room was not on the road and was secluded and quiet. It didnt look as if many rooms were over the road and it doesnt stop me recommending the hotel.The hotel is very convenient for getting into Sorrento town centre it takes about 15 mins and is relatively flat along the road with at times very narrow pavements but with fab views of the coast- its high up on the cliffs which makes the walk a pleasure-overall lovely stay. Positives - Swimming Pool: nice on a very hot day! - Not a lot else... Negatives - A long way up the hill: bring your walking shoes! - Receptionist was very annoying. It was well worth the 15 min walk from town center to the hotel - the views of bay of naples are fantastic. the villa is beautiful, and it was great having a pool to cool off in. Our room was very spacious and comfy, and had a great balcony overlooking the bay. The breakfast was delicious, and there was a wonderful outdoor eating area. My wife and me had ordered an upgraded room for a vacation. The room I got was on the road and the traffic noise disturbs us all night long. Breakfast was disaster. The access to the hotel by car or by foot is inconvenient and even danger. Not recommended.

This hotel is beautiful! My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during a multi-city trip to Italy, and we were happily surprised by how nice the hotel was! The room was reasonably-priced and had a nice view of the sea, even though I didn't think that I had booked an ocean-view room. The room was quite large, it had a living area with 2 small couches […] that turned into pull-out twin beds with a small kitchenette (agree with other reviewers that we didn't use the kitchenette because it seemed a little dirty and fridge was not very cold). The bedroom itself has a lot of closet room, and the bed was good size although mattress was very firm. Again, great view of the ocean both from the bedroom and from the living room. The bathroom had a good-sized shower, no tub, but was otherwise quite large. The hotel offers free breakfast from 8-10am, and they have indoor and outdoor tables, including 2 quite large patios that have nice shade and great views. The pool is very secluded and again has a great view of the ocean and Sorrento, but it closes at 6pm. My only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend there because we did so much sight-seeing. The hotel itself is located just outside of the main "downtown" area of Sorrento, right on the edge of the peninsula further West. It was a good 20 minute walk from the train station, and 10 minutes from the downtown area. The views from the hotel make the distance worth it, but if I had to do it again, I would get a taxi from the train station with luggage. Walking from the hotel to dinner in Sorrento was very relaxing, though, and not difficult at all. Overall, we were extremely happy with our decision to stay at the Hotel Residence Miramare! We paid a little more for a sea-view room - worth every penny! There were 6 in our group - were givent 3 rooms next to each other overlooking Sorrento and the bay. Patios with each room - to have pre-dinner apps and drinks which we bought at a local deli. Basic decor in rooms, but clean and comfortable. Very helpful and pleasant staff - recommended […] good restaurants and the Isle of Capri boat trip - expensive, but super day out with lots of swimming. On a busy road, without a sidewalk so be careful walking. the sidewalk starts a few feet from the hotel on the way into Sorrento - 10min walk. There is nothing to be excited about here. However, if on a budget...it is a very large room and clean with a balcony and views of the water. The front desk personnel were extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel location is easily walkable to the main street of the town. From the train station, we walked down the steps and down the hill to the main […] street and turned left with our luggage along the sidewalk shops to the Tasso Piazza. We grabbed a nice lunch and the waiter told us where to stand to catch the bus up the hill to our hotel. Very simple. I truly have to warn that the 'breakfast' is basically cereal and old coffee and room is as sparce and basic as can be. Rooms face the bay... and also on the high-traffic main road with constant busses and mopeds. FREE INTERNET in the room!!! And, close to town. Note: We did NOT use any of the dishes or utensils in the room because they appeared dirty. Previous guests were supposed to clean them, but there did not appear to be any dish soap or method of cleaning them... so the thought of them being 'rinsed' with water and dried seemed a little unsanitary. Staff was very nice - room had a great view. Hotel was clean and worth the price. It is not in town so not immediatly acccesable to shops etc but elevated so you get good views of the Bay.

The hotel was very nice and good value for the money. It is about a 5 minute bus ride outside of Sorrento on the way to Amalfi, but there are frequent local buses between the hotel and the main plaza and train station area downtown. I love everything about this hotel--the location, ambiance, size, comfort--and I'd stay here again any day. The small staff became like family in just a few days & I'll miss all of them. It was like home away from home, and I'll be back as soon as I can. Perfect!!!

The Miramare is about a 20 mins walk froom the centre of Sorrento. The pavement is quite narrow in parts but OK. Being up the hill, you get a great view and I thought it was worth the walk. Spacious room and friendly staff and a nice breakfast which could be taken out onto a terrace.

My husband and I stayed in Sorrento for 3 nights. We LOVED it! The hotel is a 10 minute walking distance from the center, but it is all worth it; it is a little bit uphill, so you get a good workout while enjoying the beautiful views of Sorrento. I can't fault this hotel. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had a picture postcard view. Slightly out of the main town but only a ten minute walk - which makes it quieter than some of the other hotels in the town. Also moderately priced for Sorrento. I would definately go back.

This was our third stay. We know the key players by name. They were friendly and welcoming. The room did not have a balcony as we thought it would because it was a two room suite. They were willing to change the room if we were not satisfied. Expensive for the money. Traffic was heavy in front of hotel, loud at night. Room very nice expensive, very pretty views. Staff was OK, but could have been more helpful with directions and places to eat. Internet connection was very poor. Very easy to get to, use cuircumventio. I would give it a 7 out of 10.

We absolutely loved this hotel!! We stayed in the family room with my husband and I and 2 sons and it was very roomy. We stayed in Room # 405 and it had outstanding views from our own little patio. I couldn't stop taking pictures when we first got there. The pool overlooks this fabulous view also. The 2 bedrooms were spacious and clean. The bus stop was right outside the hotel and it was even within a five minute walk to the Piazza Tassa which was the town center. The breakfast which was included with our room was very good. We loved out stay in Sorrento and the hotel was very comfortable (other than the extremely hard bed). We booked a room with a balcony and it was fabulous. The room was large, particularly so for European standards. The hotel had plenty of sunning decks and the pool was relaxing. No coincide la clasificación del hotel con el servicio brindado: la habitación carecía de wi-fi, de frigobar y el desayuno no era de buena calidad y aburrido. La salida del hotel era dificultosa y peligrosa para el peatón. La calidad de los elementos de higiene no era acorde a la categoria promocionada del hotel.La TV no funcionaba correctamente.

Wij hebben 10 dagen in hotel Miramare gelogeerd en het erg naar onze zin gehad. Met name de receptionisten, waarvan er eentje Nederlands spreekt, zijn zeer hulpvaardig en allervriendelijkst. It is a basic hotel to good. It is a hotel with a fantastic view over the Sorrento Bay. We had a nice big room and terrace (Room 301) and the comfort was basic to good. No complaints at all. Breakfast very simple, but okay. Pool area not for a family with small kids, as it is not spacious enough.
