The room was very clean, the bed comfortable, and though the location was near the highway, sound barriers rendered it quiet. The registration clerk was unwelcoming and robotic as if she is unaware that her kindness and consideration can make a big difference. I stay at the Super 8 on occasion when I want to go hiking/climbing in the gunks. Its a good jumping off point. A little far from the center of town but it makes up for this by being easy to get to from the thruway. Rooms are clean. Not the latest and greatest in decor but certainly serviceable.

Clean room. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable rates. Breakfast very limited. Very close to SUNY New Paltz. Great little town.

Read the reviews on here and wasn't quite sure what to expect so I was more than pleasantly surprised. Our room was SPOTLESS, the beds were very comfortable and the staff was extremely pleasant. Is the breakfast fancy? NO, but it's free and it's fine. Coffee was excellent and my English Muffin was really all I needed. Need more food? There's a diner […] across the street as well as a supermarket - you can get better food VERY easily. Not the Taj, but good for an economy stay. Hotel was clean and staff was nice. Bed had feather pillows which are not supportive enough and I did not like, but that was my only issue. Otherwise, good inexpensive stay right off the through way.

enjoyed our stay......although when I asked for a snow shovel to get our car out of the 12 inch snow fall, they said they did not have one. Later I was told they do not give them out as a few shovels were stolen in the past. I would have appreciated the honesty!! They did not offer any help at all......this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

My friends and I have stayed here a handful of times. It's quite nice for a Super 8. My only complaint is that it's not quite walking distance to the bars. Otherwise for the price it can't be beat.

Super 8 is the closest hotel to the little town of New Paltz. You can walk or drive to a lot. Also about 5-6 miles to Mohunk. Highly recommended.

we were not thrilled about our stay at all. the beds were ok, the room was as clean as it could be. we had no hot water, which made getting ready for the next day's event more than a little difficult (especially with a young child). the management let us check out a little late, but were nasty about it.

only - issue to mention on my late arrival and mid-morning departure: the PTAC wall heater fan was noisy noisy when it cycled on. I told the front desk on my checkout. + is the great location near 87, easy to find overalL average, just what you'd expect of a cookie-cutter Super 8.

you get what you pay for. We continued to smell cigarette smoke all by our non smoking room. Left one morning @ 7 am returned @ 4 and the room had not been made up. Had to grab towels off the cart. breakfast was really below par.

Compared to similarly priced alternatives, this place was great. Clean and surprisingly quiet (we were on the 2nd floor, at the back) given the highway and onramp beside it. Only issue was that we could occasionally smell smoke from the neighbouring smoking rooms. It was somewhat unpleasant, though infrequent. Would recommend and will return.

GREAT! We needed a stop over point for a trip. I had lived in the area and had seen the sign near the Thruway exit for years, knew it was there, and WAS NOT EXPECTING MUCH - after all, it is just a Super 8. We repeated 'this is a Super 8???' repeatedly during our over night. Everything was great - staff, cleanliness ... The room setup was nicer than […] most motels and some hotels. This will be my base in the future, even if going to my old home in Woodstock 20 miles away - where there are FAIR hotels close at hand. My ONLY 'negative' comment - Despite the sigh being visible from 2 major roads - even at 65 mph,, and being within 150 yds from the exit, we had an AWFUL time figuring out where the entrance road was - during the day and with GPS. Stayed one night here with my teenager daughter in order to see the university, it was clean, comfortable, friendly and was a great location...near the university and near shops and restaurants.
