Hotel Milton Roma - Ρώμη

We had a marvelous stay at the Milton Hotel Roma. It was walking distance to the colloseaum and short Metro or bus ride to many other venues. The staff were great and they were very helpful. The breakfasts were great! Highly recommend.

Cons: After reading all of the great reviews, we decided to stay here on our recent trip. Our first room (on the third floor of the hotel) was on a major street, and the windows are single pane glass (NO noise filtration). It literally sounded like the cars were going to drive into our room.... all night. The third night they found a room on the other […] side of the hotel off of the main road. At first glance it was much better, until we walked into the bathroom and saw mold all over the wall. The shower is just a faucet with a drain on the floor (i.e. no tub) and the walls are not all tiled, so the drywall has molded quite badly (at least in that room). That night, when we went to sleep, all we could hear was a dripping noise in the wall. It sounded like there was a leaky pipe, and then we noticed the ceiling had a giant water spot. The hot water in the shower jumped all over the place. We went in early March, and despite cold temperatures outside, the room was very hot, and regardless of how low we turned the air conditioner, it made no difference. The windows in our second room did not open, so we were stuck being hot. Pros: Hotel staff were very helpful, and the continental breakfast was good. Cheap. Close to the metro (though the Rome Metro closes at 9:00pm every night but Saturdays for the next two years because they are doing construction on a new line). Summary: Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for a nicer place closer to the city center. Great hotel in Rome. Close to the colloseum and right accross the street from a metro station. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and had lots of variety.

Everything was fine. Clean rooms, helpful staff, good breakfast. This hotel is very close to the metro which is most convenient for traveling through the city of Rome.

Breakfast is not impressive at all. Cheap stuff ans terrible coffee. Just cross the street for a delicious coffee.

Hotel Milton Roma is directly across the street from the subway line B (Manzoni station). We should have bought a 7 day subway pass but ended up getting a 3 day instead. It was very easy to get arouund the city on the subway (it saved a lot of walking). All the staff at the hotel Roma was very helpful with answering what questiones we had. The room […] was bigger than our previous hotel but still kinda small compared to hotels in the states. We we first got into the room there was no power, no lights no tv electrical plugs didn't work. The electronic key card is used in a slot in the wall next to the door to activate the power to the room. So when you walk in you immediately have to insert the key card into the slot if you want lights on. The hotel offers internet but only wireless is offered in the lobby area. You will need an ethernet cable to connect with. The front desk provides a cable for free with paid internet which is really cheap. The tv in the room plays all kinds of movies but they are in Italian diaglog. Their are plenty of electrical outlets for your camera batteries, cell phone, and laptop all are 220v. The shower is my only complaint. It's a standup type shower and the base is just 2 feet by 2 feet square. The shower curtain seems to be too small to wrap around and water leaks through between the wall and the curtain space onto the floor creates puddles on each side of the shower. The location is perfect. Bus nro 3 outside the door goes to the art gallery museums(direction Thorvaldsen (left)) and other direction (right) goes to Trastevere Railway station, where you can hop on the local train to Da Vinci Airport. Cheeper than take the Da Vinci express from Rome main station - and not so lot of walking. The Manzoni undergound station […] is across the street from hotel doors. The beds are too hard overall South of Europe, and there are only a couple of "kitchen chairs" in the room - You must sit on the bed to relax. The TV films is dubbed in italian - exept the BBC cannel. (Funny to look at an italian speaking John Wayne and its not John Wayne´s voice) Overall, the hotel is OK and the breakfast is OK . I am an American and I felt at home. The hospitally was number one. I felt like I was family and not a visitor in a foreign land. The food was great and I would recommend this place to anyone that is visiting Rome. It is centrally located and a hop, skip and jump away from everywhere....

All of the reviews you read about the flooding shower are true. Since the shower curtain (which is dirty and disgusting) is too short, it does not do anythi g for keeping the water inside the tiny shower basin (and it is tiny!). Therefore, I had to usey clean rowels to soak up the flooded floor everyday, which was an absolute pain and plain gross. As […] for the other parts of the hotel, breakfast was not bad, wifi is not free (5 euro/day), front desk staff is not helpful, and location was mediocre (5-10 min walk to colosseum). only a 10-minute walk from the Coliseum, Forum etc and directly opposite a metro station for when it rains - which is a lot in November!

Hotel Milton Roma is accessible to all public transportation,just accross the street,walking distance to the colliseum and 20 min ride on the subway to St. Peters Basilica.For the price,it's ok

This place was nice. The staff was very courteous and helpful. They spoke English which was a big plus. The breakfast they put out was delicious and plentiful. At our next hotel I was very disappointed with their breakfast simply because in comparison to the Hotel Milton's, I was spoiled there. The beds would split apart throughout the night, but if you tend not to move around a lot its not a big deal. The subway is directly under the hotel, the entrance is literally right there on the corner, so it is perfect, and only two stops(if I remember correctly) to the central terminal (which connects you to the airport or other trains to different cities. We walked to the Colosseum and a few other attractions because the weather was nice, but regardless the train system there is great. Though advertised as a 4 star, Hotel Milton Roma should rate no more than 3. We had no hot water for bathing for 2 of our 3 night stay.... This is inconsistent with a 4 star rating in anyone's book. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and lavish, but the scramble eggs were soaked in grease. The front desk staff were polite and helpful and the Metro […] is across the street. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The cab ride from the airport was an experience and they wanted to charge much more than the approved standard rate of $30. Employees at the hotel were very helpful.

We stayed in multiple locatons in Italy and Rome. Our regret was that we did not come back to Milton after Tuscany stay. Best breakfast anywhere with free cappuchino/espresso drinks provided. 10 minutes walk to Termini and 10 minutes walk to Forum. We arrived on Sunday night and the restaurant was closed, however, the front desk guy recommended restaurant […] nearby that was terrific, not the average turist menu place. We were welocomed there as the Milton hotel guests. The bar is tiny but the bartender was accomodating. I recommend this place as you can walk anywhere important in the old city from here. Good location, right near a metro station, with two or three good restaurants within walking distance. Big breakfast (means you don't need lunch!). Only problems were very high window (so you can't see out) and noisy outside if you open the window at night.

The hotel was generally nice, well appointed and efficiently run however we were a bit disappointed to find that the shower curtain was very old and rather mouldy in an otherwise nice bathroom As it's a 4 star hotel one would hope for a bit more attention to detail . VEry good location with walking distance to the Colloseum, Roma Termini (the main Train station) and Metro right accross the street. Hotel breakfast was very good and saves a lot of time in the morning. We did not try the hotel food as there were plenty of choices within walking distance. We definitely would consider it again.

Our overall experience was okay but the room left much to be desired. I would not recommend this hotel. The bathroom was so tiny that when you sit on the toilet, your knees are under the sink - or else you have to sit at an angle. The carpet in the doorway into the bathroom was completely soaked due to the really poor design of the shower - there is […] no way to take a shower without getting water all over the floor - the shower curtain did not go all the way around the shower. The mold was incredible and was prevalent on the rotting wooden door frame of the bathroom. We had to turn off the water in order to soap up - there was no way to get out of the shower spray without turning off the water. The location was okay for the sites of Rome as it is right on a subway line and the Rome subway, which is super easy to use but rather limited. We stayed 3 nights here. Loved the Metro access and/or moderate walk to Colosseum. 'Rack' rate was almost 3 times what we paid, but good enough deal thru Hotels.Com to justify staying there. Excellent breakfast, rooms are Euro-small, but fine. We had a great visit and Hotel Milton Roma was a fine spot to stay in Rome.

This was by some margin the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in - I am a pretty short person (5ft 6) and if I had been much taller, if I had tried to stretch out, my feet would have hit the window. The room itself and in particular the bathroom was in desperate need of renewal - the carpet was heavily worn, the bathroom mirror was attached to […] the wall with masking tape, the paint was flaking off the wall, the shower curtain was far too small for the shower unit and as a result the bathroom floor ended up flooded every morning and the window was a poor fit meaning that it shook and banged against the frame whenever there was a slight gust of wind. In terms of location the hotel was pretty central being only 800m from the Coliseum but there was next to nothing in terms of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The one saving grace was that the breakfast was good but then I cannot recall staying in a hotel in Italy that served a bad breakfast. Overall I am at a loss to determine what it is about this hotel that makes it merit 4 stars and would never in my wildest dreams recommend that anyone stay there - I have stayed in hostels which are significantly more comfortable than this place! This hotel was very nice. It had a great breakfast buffet and was right across the street from the subway entrance. I didn't like that the TV stations in English was non-existant but who stays in their room anyway?

Our room was very unsatisfactory. I am not making this up. The shower head came directly out of the wall between the toilet and the sink. There was a drain, but no curtain or device to keep the water from spraying the whole room. A normal level of water pressure resulted in water covering the entire bathroom, including water flowing under the bathroom […] door and onto the carpet. Of course the toilet, toilet paper, etc were drenched and everthing needed to be dried. This was a 3 day stay and we eventually figured out that a very, very slow flow of water would keep things under better control. One of the walls was missing ceramic tile, and it was full of mildew. The room had a door that could of opened onto a nice roof top terrace, but it was locked. The room had only one chair, which was a problem for 2 people. To add insult to injury, the hotel charges 4 euro per 15 minutes to use their internet connection in the lobby. That is about $27 per hour for the service. An outrageous exploitation of its guests. The hotel was in a convenient location in Rome. The hotel is next to the metro station which is a cheap and good way to travel in the city. The room we checked into was small and didn't look like the pictures we seen on the website. The staff was friendly and we are provide breakfast for free during our stay. The selection for breakfast is big and all […] you can eat. The staff is friendly with great service. The surrounding area is not because its noisy during the night. The hotel is centrally located and the subway and buses are across the street. The neighborhood is questionable but the hotel is safe and accommodating. The rooms are tiny

The hotel exceeded our expectations. It is clean, convenient to lots of Rome attractions, has a bar, exceptional free breakfast, and the cost is reasonable. The Hotel Milton Roma, was the best experience with a hotel anywhere in the world. I have never met a friendly or finer staff anywhere. From the front desk staff to the cleaning staff; all our needs were met. The Hotel manager Anthony and his fine staff help my wife and I put together a last minute Roman Wedding. The staff helped with the church, […] the car, photographer, and flowers in the room. The wedding was a dream comes true for my wife and me. Go to the bar and have a drink the best bartender Giovanni. This place the finest. I will only stay here when, I am next in Roma Thanks to the staff to making this a perfect trip. great location, affordable, good service, neighboorhood is nothing special but at least quiet. i stayed in a single room, and my only complaint is that it felt "too small" however, if you just plan to "sleep there" and not for example, do work on your laptop like i did, then it's a perfect compromise. Had nice 3 person room. Fine breakfast. Very convenient to subway and sites, but maybe not in a high prestige area. Clean.

This was a charming hotel. Simple but clean and pleasant. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet. Everyone went out of their way to help with any request and make sure our exprience was memorable. Close to the metro and easy walking distance to the heart of the city. A true hidden gem.

The room was a great size and was in an awesome location. The bathroom has some mold issues in the tub which should be remedied. The location was very near public transportation which was great. The first impression is generally made by the front desk personnel. Front desk manager was not friendly and seemed annoyed at any and all of our questions. Room was clean but a little musty smelling like there hadn't been fresh air let in in awhile. Shower was strange. It only had a glass door that covered half of the stall so water sprayed everywhere.The […] air conditioning didn't work and we were not offered any compensation for that. Breakfast was decent and convenient. Easy to get to from the Roma Termini, but don't use the metro! It is a bear with luggage! Take the 7 min taxi ride. It's worth the few extra euros. Hotel location very convenient for getting onto the metro and seeing all the major sites.
