Sofitel Athens Airport - Αθήνα

Had a wonderful nights rest at the Athens Airport Sofitel, just a few steps from the arrival area of the airport. Highly recommend.

We booked the Sofitel specifically because of its location ON the airport property, and we're glad we did. We were able to take the metro into the city, knowing that we didn't need to carry our luggage all over the city as we checked out the sights. The next morning, we were able to have a leisurely breakfast and just walk across the roadway to check […] in. It's a very expensive hotel, relative to others we stayed in on this trip, but the luxury and convenience almost makes up for it. Breakfast (which is not free) is excellent, with a wide variety of Greek delicacies, as well as more typical European and American fare. The cafe is open 24 hours, and the bar is open until 2am, which is a real boon when you arrive late at night after a 7 hour drive and all you want to do is relax. 2 long black hairs in shower area, phone beeped periodically even after tech "fixed it", non-smoking room smelled like stale cig smoke and they had no remedy but to spray an air freshener for 30 sec...way overpriced for the room I had to deal with!!!

We chose this hotel because of an overnight connection. The room was so comfortable that we wished we could have stayed longer to take advantage of the other amenities the hotel has to offer. The only downside was that the service in the restaurant downstairs was rather slow.

the hotel is very close to the airport check in, walk is about 3 minutes only. I had a nice evening there, I enjoyed the terrace at the bar sitting outside while hearing live musik from piano. My room had a view to the runway and autobahn; even so the night was quiet but short because of an early flight, check out very early was quick and easy.

This is a wonderful facility, but only for an overnight stay followed by a very early morning flight. Otherwise, dollar for dollar, one is far better off saving this hotel's substantial charges, and staying in downtown Athens.

Due to recent manifestations in Athens, this hotel is the best option to stay in close to the aiport and for early flights.

A prime location for all destinationsconnecting flights in Greece and specifically to the Greek islands, as it is located just across the street from the Athens airport. When arriving from an overnight flight from the US or elsewhere it is ideal if your plans do not include visiting the city of Athens

everything about this hotel was wonderful would certainly stay there again.

The city center in Athens is quite the drive from the airport, so on our way home we opted to save the cab fare and stay near the airport. It was a great way to end our trip, very comfortable luxurious. Was also nice because we had an early flight, it is a 3 minute walk to the terminal. Would definitely stay here again.

Extremely convenient for layovers in transit to/from the Greek islands. Metro station to Athens across the street at the airport. About a 30 minute ride into the city. Very good service and very comfortable rooms.

We had a very early flight from ETH. We were able to walk across the street in the morning to the airport for our flight. I would not recommend the hotel otherwise. Our room and bed were comfortable - otherwise, this is not a four star hotel.

The airport has the best location in Athens for catching early morning flights - a short walk to the terminal. Otherwise it struggles to achieve the level of luxury implicit in the Sofitel name. Our first room was dirty, with stains, scuffs and flaking paint. The 2nd room was marginally better; finally the 3rd was clean, though none were large rooms. […] The two restaurants are overpriced, and the staff tried hard to provide 5* service, but failed, with 3 (!) trays being dropped during dinner, and a waiter twice passing by me carrying a loaded tray of dishes right over my head. farther from the airport than I would have expected therefore free shuttle was a plus. However, shuttle area is not clearly marked at airport. Hotel is right next to bus line (X-95) that can conveniently take you to downtown in about 30-35 m.

The staff are CHARMING and most helpful - with the exception of one man who stood in for the head concierge - he was miserable. The hotel is wonderfully convenient across from the airport. I liked the outdoor terrace very much. The pianist was delightful and again, charming. He stood up and said "Merci Madame" to me after I stopped to listen.!!! The […] corridors need refurbishing. The room was for me dark and claustrophobic and my husband said the room was like a theater setting = all facade and nothing worked behind the scenes. I would only stay in this hotel again if have a very early flight. Very expensive. I am upset becasue I needed to make a local phonecall, and the only way the customer service would help me was to go out of the hotel to buy calling card. I was very dissapointed...The fact is $250 for 7 hrs and not be able to make a phonecall... Maria B.

Hotel is directly opposite the terminal building so access is as easy as you can get. Check in was swift and we were upgraded to a deluxe room at no additional charge. The receptionist was smiley and courteous and gave me all the information we needed. The room was superb - most importantly, containing a large, comfortable bed with crisp linen and […] a selection of soft, medium and firmer pillows. The bathroom was split into two halves, one being the vanity unit - sink and mirror with ample space and a selection of L'Occitane toiletries, the other half being a divided off by a substantial glass wall and door leading to wet room with a bath and shower and a separate showering area with hand held and ceiling mounted showers - the ceiling mounted shower was probably one of the best showers I ever had!! If I had one small criticism, we arrived around 9pm and just wanted a small snack but the hotel restaurants were more on the formal side, offering full meals. The only access to more a comprehensive menu of snack food was via room service, something I'm personally not keen on due to past experiences elsewhere. Very convinient and comfortable high quality hotel. Stayed for night between flights and slept well, no noise and comfortable room.

Great if you are so tired you just want to walk for 3 minutes and land in the hotel; or if you have an early flight. Very friendly staff. Adequate gym w/ sauna; pool is bigger than most, but you can't swim laps. My only complaint is that I could not get fresh air in the room -- all windows hermetically sealed because of the airport noise. Next time, […] I might try further away, if I can get a lower price [I found this rather high] and fresh air. Oh, and a cappuccino in the airport was less than half the cost in the hotel. It is hard to write a review on an airport hotel in the same way you write a review for other hotels. Airport hotels are there to serve a specific function and need to their customers above the other services you would expect from a hotel elsewhere (especially location). However, as far as airport hotels, this is one of the best ones I've stayed in. […] Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't recommend staying here as a base to see the sights of Athens, but if you have a 10am flight the next day, staying here removes the stress of the 30min + transfer times from downtown Athens and allows you a few extra minutes to sleep in. The airport terminal is also just a 2 minute walk away, so you don't have to worry about shuttle timetables. The hotel has a usuable spa and gym (even though it didn't seem to be open all the hours it claimed), had an airport departure board in the lobby and the rooms were very of a high standard. I cannot say enough about the experience we had at the Sofitel at the Athens airport. We had spent a week in beautiful Santorini, yet our experience at the Sofitel capped it all off, believe it or not. Check-in was quick and personable. The room was extremely comfortable from the great bed and shower to the fabulous A/C. We had drinks in the outside […] cafe, followed by a delicious dinner inside at the hotel restaurant. From A to Z everything exceeded our expectations. We got our morning wakeup call on time and simply walked across the street to the airport. Oh, and the breakfast buffet opens I think at 5am. I was worried that the Hotel would be noisy because of the closeness of the Airport. It was a very pleasant surprise at how quiet the Hotel was. I had a great rest. The location was the biggest reason for choosing the Hotel and overall I was very satisfied and would not hesitate to stay again.

The hotel is far superior to most airport hpotels and thius was a very welcome surprise. We were only there one night but very much enjoyed the experience. Our only complaint is that the drink prices and restaurant fare was more expensive than expected.

Perfect hotel if you are transitting in Athens for one night. A great option to avoid Athens City Centre.

The Athens Sofitel Airport is a great place to stay if your flight gets in late or leaves early. The hotel is comfortable and the service is great. The reviews that say high cost have to be put in perspective. The hotel is a luxury place that has great food, service and rooms. The hotel is nice and the staff is very helpful and friendly. My advice to this hotel is to clean or replace the carpets in the hallways upstairs. Also, I don't like that they play music in the hallways upstairs.

Great airport hotel --Across the road from the airport, rooms are spacious, modern and very clean the service is excellent and restaurant/bar open 24 hours. Highly commended for overnighting whilst travelling.

Located just steps from the Athens Airport, this is the perfect place to stay when you have a morning flight. Conveniently located a stone's throw from the airport, you can quickly walk to catch your flight in a matter of minutes. The hotel is nicely appointed and very comfortable.

When we arrived the hotel upgraded us to suite. The restaurant was expensive and didn't offer the best Greek food "Saganaki". They also don't offer free internet unless you get upgrade. Over all since its the only hotel at or with 10 miles of the airport it was nice.

Excellent location, 2 minutes walk across the street from the airport. Close to the metro which we made use of one afternoon between flights to go see the Acropolis. Clean, quiet rooms. Excellent service from the staff. Comfortable bed. View of the airport but soundproof. Great restaurant and bar. Will stay there again, worth the money.

absolutely perfect for arriving late at night and leaving early the next mroning from the Athens airport. Couldn't be easier. One doesn't go there for the neighborhood, but for the convenience.

The place was nice and, for our needs, perfect for being close to the airport (although nothing else, which we knew). I thought the staff wasn't that friendly or considerate though. I'd probably go with the cheaper airport hotel next time even though I don't know anything about it.
