Courtyard was great. Clean rooms, friendly staff and a great location. Lots to do nearby. Walls are a bit thin. Could hear the maids vacuuming next door like they were in our room!

Free wifi, near a new and amazing part of town, beds were super comfy, Lobby was crazy awesome...I would def stay here over any other place in town!!!

I had never stayed in Des Moines before, I am from the Iowa City area. I've stayed in some really nice hotels in Chicago and bigger cities and I have to say that this hotel was great. The decor is up to date and modern and the room was immaculate. It was a very comfortable stay and the service staff were really nice.

The staff were all friendly and helpful and the place was very clean. There is no pleasant view regardless of room location. Exiting the hotel by car can be tricky. The entrance is on a one way only side of the street. The best way is to go through the Kohl's parking lot. No continental breakfast. They do have a pricy little deli if you want the convenience […] of in house food. Many restaurants in a very short distance. We liked having Caribou coffee just down the street. They serve Starbucks at the hotel but I am not a fan of the burnt and bitter. The Television was mounted in a strange way and was difficult to watch if you were lying on the bed. This hotel has everything going for it, courtesy and friendliness of the housekeepers and the reservationists. Cleanliness and comfort excellent, but the hotel structure needs improvement, if that is possible. Paper-thin walls and doors. I could hear conversations going on in the next room and outside my door. Also the sound of someone taking a shower. […] I felt like I was in the same room with them. This was a wonderful place to stay! It was impressive from the time we walked in, the looks of the lobby, the check in, how everything was explained to us, etc. Also the room was great! Set up very nice and was very comfortable and clean. We were very close to nice restaurants and shopping. Overall I would definitely stay there again!

This is a nice hotel, relatively new in a newer area of Des Moines. It's a good value, and a good location if you want to stay out of the city, near a nice mall in suburbia. The hotel was well-maintained, appointed with modern furnishings and the room was smartly arranged to allow business activities. The big downer, however, was that the mattress of […] our King sized bed was worn-out to the point where it sagged in the middle, drawing me into my wife when I didn't intend to go in that direction. Stayed at this courtyard for the first time for a 2 night stay while in the Des Moines area.. My Wife loved how close Jordan Creek Mall was.. 15 minute drive to the down town area.. Very Clean very comfotable.. Great Staff Very Friendly.. Not so happy about there breakfast but we just jumped in the car and went down the road to a local resturant.. Hotel is right next to Jordan Creek Mall and there is a Kohl's within walking distance. Safe neighborhood and easy to get to from Int 80 or 35. The only drawback was no free continential breakfast, but they do have a bistro that you can purchase breakfast at. It serves Starbucks coffee which is a plus.

My only complaint is that the hotel does not have Coke products.

I chose this hotel because the price was good, and because I thought that as a newer hotel it couldn't be that bad. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised! It was much nicer than we expected! The young man at the front desk was friendly and helpful, the lobby was clean and useful, and our room was perfect for a weekend getaway. Everything was very […] clean and well organized. The room was great and very cosy except that the walls were too thin. You could hear your neighbours TV and their activities if you're unlucky. Otherwise, staff was very helpful. They have a little bistro in the lobby and complimentary wireless connection in the rooms.

We were very pleased with our room. Really liked the curtains that kept the room dark so we could sleep in. Our room was clean but we were missed two days in a row for the complementary soaps, shampoos, conditioner, shower gel and lotions. This is a nice perk and we missed it. Had to go to front desk one night and ask for shampoo and conditioner as […] we were out for the next day. Clean , Nice, and Fantastic Staff

Hotel was very clean, fantastic staff, and great value.

We loved the hotel and were very pleased. The only issue was the entrance had to drive thru parking lot or go out of the way to get to.

The hotel is about 1 year old and is in nice condition in a new commercial part of West Des Moines. The GPS on my car did not have the streets in the database yet because the area is new, so don't count on that. The lobby area is comfortable and there is a breakfast and dinner service from a limited service restaurant on site. The rooms are quiet and […] nice, but it looks like they tried too hard to be cool with the room furniture and they ended up with a sofa bed in the guest room which is not comfortable at all. If this is the way Marriott Courtyard is going, sign me up. This is apparently a test unit for the newly re-designed Courtyard chain. I'm a picky guy, and some hotels don't like me very much. I travela lot, and I just want the value I paid for, really. I realize that I can't expect as much for $70.00 as I can for $150.00, but this place was off the […] charts. It's a very attractive property even from the outside. The lobby is very nice, with a bistro-style cafe in the back. Brittany puts most front desk people to shame. She has an ability to make everybody she talks to feel as if they are the the only person in the building, while maintaining awareness of others as well. Top notch! Ray at the cafe/bar has the moves of the bartender in your very favorite haunt; always on the move, always looking to satisfy. Maria H. cleaned my room, and it honestly looked brand new. The decorating is soothing and much more expensive looking than it probably was; nicely appointed and very comfortable. Just what I needed after a day on the road. The hotel was wonderful, however, the directions provided by the website were misleading. This is a new hotel and it is located south of the Jordan Creek Mall. The direction on the website indicated that the hotel was on the north side of the mall, nearer to I 80. It took me almost an hour to finally find the hotel.
