My boyfriend and I stayed here as a splurge on a three week trip through Europe a couple weeks ago, and it was great. Very comfortable, great breakfast and wonderful views. Some people have mentioned the distance from the hotel into the old town, but we found it pretty painless (though are young and are accustomed to walking long distances). There were […] a number of different ways down the hill so walking into town was always interesting and we got to see things we otherwise wouldn't have, and when we were tired, or coming home late, we waited for the tram (though it does stop shortly after midnight). Our stay was beyond perfect! Upon our arrival we were given two rooms to choose from. The first floor room did not have a view, but was large and spacious. The second had a view, but was considerably smaller. We choose the first floor due to the space and in seconds we could walk into the courtyard to see a spectacular view of Prague. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with picturesque views of Prague and the Strahov Monastery. We had a deluxe suite which was warm, comfortable and very spacious. It was also excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The hotel is slightly out of the main town but it is a pleasant walk down the hill. I booked this hotel for 3 adults and one child and was very happy with the quality of the residence monistary as the staff was very friendly and helpful. It has a great view overlooking Prague and is only a 5 min walk downhill to the St Charles bridge. Breakfast was included and buffet style and it was great. Only complaints I had was that one bed was […] a foldout couch that was not very comfortable but was clean. The place is extremely hard to find as it is in a gated courtyard with no signs outside and my GPS tried to get me there via walking trails. The Residence Monastery is a gem of a hotel, away from the madding crowds down in town, by the shunning monastery and on the edge of the wonderful parkland with stunning views with good restaurants and pubs literally on the doorstep. Top floor rooms are idiosyncratic - ours was small, could not stand up by the bed because of the sloping roof. However […] the location and the setting would draw me back. A few negative things first: bed is uncomfortable, the church bell is very loud and seems to go for a long time at certain hours, lots of cobberstone street so wear comfortable shoes. Otherwise great experience; easy to get to tram to go into town for food and sight seeings. good view atop the hill. The Residence Monastery belongs to a bigger hotel chain (Ave) which operates several hotels in Prague. When we arrived to the Monastery to check in the receptionist informed us that there has been a problem with our room and that they are moving us to another hotel (Bishop's House) which is right near the Charles Bridge in a much more crowded and touristy […] area. When part of why I picked the Monastery is that it is in a much quieter part of town, I was not happy about the move. Between the taxi confusion and issues checking in to the new hotel, it took over 2 hours before we were in our room. We were able to switch back to the Monastery the next day and I am so glad we did! We absolutely loved the hotel and the area. The day receptionist could not apologize enough for the confusion the night before claiming it was an internal issue and upgraded us for our trouble. The Monastery sits on a hill over looking Prague. It is the best view of the city and the castle. It is in a little courtyard area with several restaurants. There is a great one that is built underground in an old cave used by the monks. The food and ambiance was so cool! For us, the location was great. It is a short walk (10-20) to all the major sites. After a long day of walking, coming back up the hill might be a challenge but there is a tram (22) that stops near by and the taxis are really cheap. Because the hotel is inside a major tourist location (Strahovsky Klaster) there are always signs pointing in its direction and it is very visible since it sits on the hill over looking the town. So we never were lost. We didn't spend much time in the room but the bed was comfortable and there was a good amount of space for bags and stuff. The shower had really good water pressure and was nice and hot. Also, there is a secure courtyard where you can park your car, if you have one. The Residence Monastery hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the old town of Prague. It is about a 10 minute walk away from the tourist masses of the Charles Bridge and the old town, but barely 5 min from the castle. The hotel is very charming, as the name implies, the it is part of the Strahovske monastery complex and even though there are tourists, […] the area is by far not as busy as the old town or the castle. We rented two rooms; both rooms had two levels with the bedroom upstairs accessible only by a pretty steep iron staircase. Not recommend for anyone who is not sure-footed. The bathroom and (in one case a generously spaced) living area are on the lower level. The other room had only a tiny downstairs room. The furniture is modern, but a bit worn. Definitely not enough wardrobe space, and one of the rooms did not have enough light to read at night. Very good breakfast selection and a beautiful terasse. Very nice front desk staff. We booked this hotel for our first day's stay in Prague and it was a fantastic way to get introduced to the city. The hotel is part of a monastery cluster and our room was tucked away in the eaves of the building roof with 2 windows offering a picturesque view of the town down the hill. The reception staff was friendly and breakfast in the dining room […] looking out to the garden felt like staying in a friend's old house. Great Staff, location, facility, wonderful boutique hotel overlooking Prague.

The room I was staying in had a very historic feel but yet all the hotel furniture and amenities are very modern, very nice mix of old and new! Nice location overlooking the whole city

Værelserne og møbler trænger til en kærlig hånd. Dårlig indelukket lugt på badeværelset. Mug i loft ved bruser. Dør til toilet begyndt at ruste i bunden. Vores to teenagers kede sig på selve hotellet. Vores udsigt fra vores værelse var blokeret af store træer, vi måtte i haven for udsigten men her var den også enestående.

Klart över förväntan. Läget var gudomligt med underbar utsikt över stan. Med spårvagn tog man sig enkelt fram om man inte ville spatsera på de branta gatorna till hotellet. Härlig frukost på uteterassen och helmysigt rum i moderna färger. Versteckt im Klosterhof gelegenes Hotel mit wunderbaren Blick auf die Altstadt und Mala Strana. Kein klassisches **** Hotel. Rezeption in der Nacht nicht besetzt. Das Frühstück ist gut und das Buffett ist ausreichend bestückt. Schöner Garten mit Tischen wenn das Wetter es erlaubt. Die Zimmer sind geschickt gestaltet aber eher klein. Wer sich viel im […] Zimmer aufhält sollte eine Suite nehmen. Sehr ruhige Atmosphäre mit angenehmen Puplikum, die Zwischenwände zu den anderen Zimmern sind aber dünn und hellhörig. Das Hotel hat nur wenige Dauerparkplätze, daher unbedingt einen reservieren , wenn man Wert darauf legt. Leider ist die Einfahrt dazu schmal und für große SUVs ungeeignet.
