This hotel was perfect for us (and we have quite high standards)! The location is fantastic, especially for holders of a Japan Rail Pass, as it is very close to a JR station (Suidobashi). Also, quite a few small restaurants around, if you arrive late and need to have a bite without going far. Rooms are small, but very comfortable! Just enough space for 2 people and baggage, but very efficient room plan. You do not feel the room is small. Bathroom is perfectly clean and comfortable. The whole hotel and room give out a sense of a much larger and more expensive hotel, while the design has some traditional touches that make this hotel special. Staff was also great. Even offered us a free umbrella (that we could keep) when it was raining. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Tokyo, especially if you can get a good price for it! We were very (very!) happy with our stay!

Our room was on the 10th floor and had a marvellous view to the Tokyo Tower. It was very clean, warm, next to the train station and it had many facilities. I would recommendate this hotel.

This area offers a glimpse of what life was like before the economic boom of the 1970s and 1980s. Neighboring Asakusa, it is best known for the Ameya-yokocho Arcade, a busy market with interesting stalls. Ueno-koen, a sprawling park with monuments, zoo, pagodas, and a pond, is a must-do. Museums and galleries abound in the area.

Sakura is not too close to any rail tracks, Iriya Station is about 4 blocks away, so it's very peaceful. Of course, since it's urban Tokyo, don't expect much of a view. I like the proximity to Senso-Ji (Asakusa Kannon Temple). There are closer ryokan, but for visiting during festival time, staying in a place a few blocks from the temple is a good thing. "Ryokan sakura"
Good value for money. Good location. Good breakfast at cost. Nice public bath. They provided razors toothbushes. Etc. Nice staff. The map online is useless and we got lost trying to get there. You go east from iriya station past the 711 on north side of street. Go to next set of lights past 711. And turn left not onto street at 90 degrees but the one […] 45 degrees. "A budge motel in a great location"
The Sakura Ryokan is located near Ueno park and the Shinjo complex in Asakusa, both great spots to visit. There are lots of convenience stores, restaurants, and shops in close walking distance. We had a Japanese style room, and the room was just the right size for three people. The closet was very spacious and held our luggage without problem. This […] was one of the few places that had wifi in the room, and the connection was very good. The bathroom was a full bathroom and while tight was big enough to get done what needed to be done. The owners are very nice. They speak very little English, but are use to foreign travelers and gestures seem to work. It was clean, comfortable, and near great sites. It is down a minor road off a main road, so it was a little difficult to find the first night. We had to wander and ask directions, so make sure you get good directions off the Internet first. "Charming"
It gives you exactly what it says - a simple, traditional place with a homely feel. I lived there alone for a week and have nothing to complain about. The Japanese guests there seemed to be workers from out of town or something like that. Likable, ordinary people. For Tokyo the room felt rather spacious - for a single person.
