it was very pleasant

The hotel was in a great location, and surprisingly very quiet. The concierge was helpful, and staff was friendly. Only thing I didn't like was shower in bath; it was a hand held one and wouldn't spray at the right angle! Otherwise, all was nice.

Enjoyed everything about this hotel! Location was excellent, workout room great, staff helpful, etc. Wouldn't change a thing!

This hotel has a great location - everything is at your footsteps. The hotel is well maintained. I highly recommend it.

I've been to other Marriott hotels, and they always feel like an upgraded Motel 6. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The rooms were modern and clean. The interior designs were very upscale. And the bed and bedding was frankly better than home. I would compare the experience something similar to the W hotel or Hyatt in the 4 stars range. A […] few random things to be said. Being a smoker I am naturally disappointed by the non-smoking room trends. However, the smoking area out front was accomodating. Plenty of ashtrays cleaned frequently, and it doesn't feel like they're trying to shamelessly hide the smokers. The free fresh coffee machines in the lobby are fantastic. Freshly ground per cup coffee, with the travel lids on the go. Perfect for me since I worked late sometimes from the hotel room, or had early meetings. I loved that they found a way to fit the in-room fridge among the amenities. I could conveniently buy/stock my own water and drinks. TV channel selection is so-so. The internet is very reliable. Especially since I needed to connect to multiple VPNs and had to run several online reports etc. Location is great. Walking distance to times square activities. Three of us shared a room in February 2012 for 2 nights during a quick visit. Hotel location was great and handy to Times Square. Coffee and tea making machine provided at the lobby, though still inconvenient, made up for the lack of these simple facilities in the room. This is a big plus, when most other US hotels do not provide a kettle in the room. […] This is our third time staying in Times Square and the least expensive (our stay in Central Park was twice as expensive), so I consider this hotel to be good value. The front desk staff did not appear to be on top of the latest changes in transport options though. They told us we could buy daily subway tickets for unlimited travel. We soon found out that these types of tickets have been discountinued 2 or 3 years ago !!!! A beautiful hotel with large, clean, comfortable rooms and a friendly staff. It's a short walk from Times Square. I highly recommend it and plan to stay there on return visits to NYC..

The hotel is very convenient to Time Square and to broadway. All within walking distance. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only thing bothered me was the strong scent when I walked in the room. Some mild fragrant scent would be better.

Spent the night in the city with my girlfriend for our anniversary. Hotel is very nice looking from the lobby to the rooms. Service was excellent and courteous. Location was perfect with all major attractions 2 - 6 blocks away. Did have a slight issue where the heat wasn't working properly. Service guy was sent to the room and explained that they had […] turned off the heat in the building since the top floors were complaining of it being too warmed, but had just turned it back on. We spent the weekend at this hotel with our two teenage kids. It's in a good location - close to Times Square but not in it so a bit outside the crush. Also close to Bryant Park, NY Library and otehr sites. Well situated to subway stops, lots of conveniences in the neighborhood. One word of caution, look up restaurants on Yelp! before you go or on […] your own while there. The concierge on duty gave us a lecture on the dangers of eating sushi instead of admitting he didn't know any good restaurants in the area. Stayed at the hotel for the weekend I went to NYC to find my wedding dress my mom had never been to new York so location as ideal :) had no problems with the room except out shower head was broken didn't realize it till the morning of dress shoppig sodding have time to call for maintence however made the call before we left and it was fixed before we […] made it back! We have stayed here several times - great location, etc. BUT our room on the 25th floor this time was impossible to cool - had to open the window to keep the temperature reasonable. reported to the desk at check-out.

Beds were comfortable, staff was friendly, room was clean. Downside was street noise; it awful, there is a trash dumping facility or something like that right across the street and it is very noisy until 1 or 2am. I did not realize Courtyards did not have ice on each floor, room service, a hotel bar... many things I have come to appreciate in other […] hotels in Manhattan. wish we had a better view out our 8th floor window. looked directly into windows of office building next door. Other than that, service was great, concierge very helpful, and the room had the most comfortable bed ever!!

We spent my the past weekend at the Courtyard for my wife's birthday and were quite statisfied. The room was clean, the location is great for time square shopping and broadway. We walked to all our destinations. The coffee and hot drink station 24 hours a day was great as well as the small refrigerator in the room. This hotel isn't as "grand" as some of the others, but the location is excellent... just a short walk to Time Square. The room was clean and comfortable and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room didn't have a great view, but that didn't make any difference to me, since I was asleep most of the time I was in the room, anyway. :-)

Great location, super clean and very friendly personal. The room I was given on the 18th floor was very specious, bathroom was super clean, very modern. I was surprised considering most NY hotel rooms are very small. Will stay here again, I have made this one my number 1 choice for NY hotels for now.

bath room lock did not have any lock. Shower place is no convenient at all. OK for individual stay. Not recommended for families.

When I initially pulled up to the hotel, I was looking for the staff so I could hand over my keys and have my car parked. They were nowhere to be seen. I called inside and was told to "just park the car and bring the keys inside". The only problem was, there were so many cars already parked in front of the hotel that there was no room to "just park". […] Relaying this message to the staff person on the phone (I called inside from my cellular), someone finally came out and took charge of my car. EVERY other experience I had at this hotel was great. This is my second time staying here (I didn't have the same problem with the car the first time). The room was immaculate. The staff was courteous, helpful (with local info) and efficient. The hotel was clean and comfortable from the lobby to the door of my room. Right in between Bryant Park and Time Square, great area. Very small lobby and room, but recently remodeled. Good bathroom and water pressure! Comfortable beds.

What an outstanding hotel! Outstanding staff! The Location is the BEST! This is a MUST if you want a reasonable yet outstanding hotel on Times Square!

This hotel was beautiful, the employees were so sweet, my room was the perfect size, and the location was fabulous. I had only planned to stay one might while visiting a friend in NY but ended up staying one extra night. I kept asking myself, how could I stay here in this nice hotel being just a few blocks from Times Square for just one night? The room […] size was very nice as was the comfyness of the bed. The Marriott Courtyard /Times Square South far exceeded our expectations for comfort, convenience and style. I have never been in a downtown hotel ... ANYWHERE - this quiet! The staff were very gracious and willing to help. One complaint: the room was hot and stuffy and there didn't seem to be any way to cool it down for sleeping at night. The only […] other disappointment: it was impossible to get a cab right at the hotel. If my niece were not a "native" and able to give us some savvy advice, my daughter and I would probably still be standing on a corner trying to hail a cab to the meat packing district for dinner! I always love this hotel It is quiet, rooms are perfect, and clean and the front desk employees are always so helpful and sweet!! Beds are sooo comfortable too. The bell man was wonderful!! Don't remember his name. Sorry. So knowledgeable and sweet.!!! Excellent all around !!!

Staff very friendly. Walking distance to Times Square and other major/popular attractions in NYC. Be sure to ask if you're getting a handicapped room. They are supposed to tell you...but in our case, did not. Closet space minimal in all units and water pressure wasn't the best for those that like a "strong" shower.

A comfortable stay with basic service. No hotel restaurant or room service available. Breakfast service only, which is not great. 1st room offered was on floor 2, which has a semi basement feel. So I asked for a room on a higher floor, which was fine.

If you need to be in the Times Square area, you can find no better hotel than the Courtyard Marriott. Small, but accessible and well maintained this hotel is very friendly to travellers. An excellent breakfast and staff at a reasonable price should be taken advantage of. A quiet street, but close to the subway makes it easy to get around without being […] crowded. Loved this hotel for its proximity to everything (Broadway, Fashion District, Times Square and subways) and also for the clean and updated rooms.
