This hotel was perfect for us (and we have quite high standards)! The location is fantastic, especially for holders of a Japan Rail Pass, as it is very close to a JR station (Suidobashi). Also, quite a few small restaurants around, if you arrive late and need to have a bite without going far. Rooms are small, but very comfortable! Just enough space for 2 people and baggage, but very efficient room plan. You do not feel the room is small. Bathroom is perfectly clean and comfortable. The whole hotel and room give out a sense of a much larger and more expensive hotel, while the design has some traditional touches that make this hotel special. Staff was also great. Even offered us a free umbrella (that we could keep) when it was raining. Would definitely recommend for a stay in Tokyo, especially if you can get a good price for it! We were very (very!) happy with our stay!

Our room was on the 10th floor and had a marvellous view to the Tokyo Tower. It was very clean, warm, next to the train station and it had many facilities. I would recommendate this hotel.

Take 3 minutes walk to Ueno Park. 10 minutes for Ueno JR Station (JR loop line: yamanote line).very nice view.....very mind servive....I will be come ack to stay here...Thank you very much
"Hotel Coco Grand Ueno Shinobazu"
I chose this hotel because it's got good reviews. The location was also convenient. It's less than 5 min. walk from Keisei Ueno, JR Ueno, and other subway lines. The room was clean and offers a nice veiw of Shinobazu pond. It also includes free breakfast. There were two drawbacks: 1)the size of the room, and 2) the air quality in the room. I'm a small […] person, but found it hard to move around without bumping into something. If you are hauling a big suitcase, there isn't much room to unpack your stuff. I had a non-smoking room. Although the room was equipped with an air-purifying device, which was on all the time, I woke up in the middle of the night, smelling cigarett smoke (must have come through a vent). "Coco Grand-pricey but super relaxing"
The rooms here are small - we got the 22 sq meter twin which was comfortable with a bit of room to move around. Hotels.com didn't show this size room so we booked the small one and upgraded upon arrival. Just beautiful decor in this hotel and you must visit the free spa. Womens spa has two massage chairs plus the heated-tile (hot stone) room and typical […] Japanese bathing area. Mens has a sauna and bathing area. The breakfast is really good- Japanese stuff plus (watery) scrambled eggs, sausage and (slightly-cooked) bacon, a small salad bar, some breads and toast, juices, fruit, yogurt, a coffee machine with wonderful coffee, and even specialty desserts included. The hotel fronts Ueno park which is nice for walking around and getting a respite from the city atmosphere. Nearby is a TGI Fridays plus a Hub restaurant (British pub theme) and we even found schwarma/doners in the nearby bazaar area. "Coco Grand Ueno - great hotel"
A clean, well decorated hotel inside and out. Staff were excellent, very competent at English. Room was very comfortable, large bed, lovely view of Shinobazu pond!
