I was so impressed with my stay at Pacific Kalokairi - the owners and staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and make sure you have everything you need. They are clearly passionate about sharing their beautiful property and country with visitors, and treat guests like family instead of customers. I would love to come back to stay again. The architecture and pool views are the highlights of the property.

Great place for couples to stay. Quiet. Peaceful.

The staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. The property was in like new condition. The pool was the coolest temperature of any pool on our trip. Refreshing after a hot day in the sun. It is a short drive to Tamarindo, !0 minutes if your taking it slow. Walk,...I decided against it but we were done hiking around as we had done plenty of that on our trip already. My wife and I had rented a suzuki vitara, I believe its called, and it was adequate for taking it easy on the roads. But during any future trips to Costa Rica I will upgrade to something with more ground clearance for more peace of mind. The steep incline to the property can be challenging for less experienced drivers. We did not enjoy the town of Tamarindo but we could not have picked a better place to stay as luck would have it. It was our refuge away from the tourist trap by the beach. Pacific Kalokaire is very peaceful. We did not even hear any traffic from the road into town. But still close enough to town to get everything you want out of it. The staff is what really makes the place though as they were genuinely nice and friendly people who care for their guests. I would stay here again if I ever return. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Tamarindo looking for a place away from the party to rest your head and relax. No kids running around. Small number of guests. Just a few other couples hanging around at a time. Maybe. I don't think we could of picked a better place.

The property is like heaven! It is clean and every detail is well thought out. The rooms are private and the property is secluded. The owners are well in tuned to your every need and tremendously accommodating. We went to find peace and found it! Every moment we spent there enriched our soul.

We really enjoyed our stay here, and did not want to leave! Virginia and her family were wonderful hosts (and their adorable dog Charlie!), and did everything they could to make sure we had a comfortable and nice stay. Very nice pool, amazing views, lovely breakfast, and beautiful rooms. This place is very remote and quiet- we loved watching the sunset and sitting on our balcony listening to the peaceful sounds of nature. Only negative is the drive up is a bit rough- make sure you have 4 wheel drive!

Clean and modern, but lack of attention to details

Note : The place opened 7 months ago, so maybe the owners haven't fully found their vibe yet. I'm sure they'll keep improving things since they were very nice and welcoming. Give if a shot if some time passed since this review, because it really was beatuiful and clean! I'm talking about details here - details making the different between good and top-notch. The view from the room was amazing, the check-in was personalised and great, the staff was welcoming, nice and everything was super clean. There's nothing to be said against that! But there's a sort of inconsistency with the price range... Ex: - the stickers in the room are kitsch, and a contradition to the otherwise elegant design. They were showed on the pictures though. - there's no attention to details regarding the kind of things guests might need to feel properly comfortable during their stay: no fridge in the room, no hair dryer, no drinking glasses (except the bathroom one), no coffee machine... - the food at the bar/restaurant was quite expensive and the quality was not good. The hotel wasn't bad, it's just that we felt like we were always missing something in order to be fully comfortable. I'm sure we'd have been provided with a hair dryer had we asked, but it's more the fact that details making a stay smooth were not thought about thorouhgly, and it shouldn't be for the guests to have to ask for those things since they're something basic all other hotels usually have, especially at that price range.

Very special

The unit is beautiful clean and pleasant ,with privacy and jungle view. Great outdoor pool with beautiful view.The owners do everything to make the guests a great stay! The dirty drive is a little challenges but worthwhile!
