Hotel Stratford

I was first placed in an older room with a hallway still halfway under construction. Room, although clean looked like a dorm room and the debris from construction starters bothering my allergies. I had to ask the front desk to move me to the 8th floor in a newly renovated room.

The room was very clean and updated. it wasn’t a huge room but was perfect for my stay.The bed was comfy.There isn’t an AC in room but the time of year with a open window took away any stuffiness. The building is under current renovations. They started to work around 6am which woke us but they got quiet after awhile(possibly someone complained). I feel that they still have to do their job but at least do it after 10am. All in all I would definitely stay at the hotel again for future visits. The price was great and LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! Would recommend.

It's good location right in the middle of the city but that also comes with the problem that it is very loud near a busy street. I was woken up every night by the noise outside of my room for that entire week of staying. The place is relatively old meaning there is no noise blocking from the wall (I can even hear the shower sound of my neighbor).

Great location, but currently going through renovations so not as comfortable in terms of amenities and furniture as you would hope.

Location is excellent. Room was very small. Shower was terrible.

Loved our room/rooms. Love the location. The staff is very nice. Have stayed here before and hope to stay there again.

The service from the front desk was excellent, they went above and beyond. This along with the great location were the only redeeming qualities of the hotel. The building was in rough shape, and the room dirty and run down. The smallest things were not tended to: the toilet paper holder was broken, the shower curtain didn't reach the ground, so the floor got wet, chunks of paint were peeling, the sink leaked, and furnishings were damaged. When I looked under the bed before leaving to see if anything had rolled under there, there was trash that was definitely not mine. The TV barely worked, it was half static with a handful of clear channels, some without sound. I've stayed in many hostels around the world, but this was the crummiest place I've stayed. I understand it's an old building and there are posters about upcoming renovations, but at a minimum I would've expected the room to be clean.

They are renovating the hotel. The newly renovated rooms are nice...ask for one of those. The old rooms are not as nice.

Good: closeness to Union Square Bad: Rather small rooms, run down, and really none of the normal room service that you'd expect from a hotel for the price paid. Overall adequate, but wouldn't be in a hurry to go back

Good location. But the room and coridor smells.
