Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Big Flats (Elmira), NY

Overall, most things were good. The appearance of the hotel was neat and the night clerk that checked us in was very nice. The room was of adequate space and the bed was comfy. The shower had nice pressure and temperature control. Some things I would normally question falls into the area of Covid related issues to staffing and cleanliness. When we got to the room we noticed some pieces of paper on the floor and then noticed even further that the floor didn't appear to be vacuumed enough, if at all. Also, the bedspread had something slightly crusty on it. We aren't people that generally complain and make a big deal about putting us into a new room, so we just dealt with it. I would recommend to the hotel that they put a coffee table with the couch, as there isn't really a place to eat at aside the desk (at least in our suite there wasn't). Also, maybe try to find a way to have better air dispersion as at night the bedroom was super cold while the living space was warmer.

Breakfast was a joke....it was nothing to eat even the website said the hotel provides breakfast plus terrible internet.

Clean, comfortable. The only complaint is that the air conditioner fan was loud and would not turn off. Eventually my husband unplugged it which was not easily accessible!

The suite was pretty clean and overall our 2 night stay was good. The view out of our 2nd story window, which didn't lock, would have been nice if it weren't for insulation and a couple pieces of garbage laying outside in the grass. Due to COVID-19 they are not cleaning your room during your stay, only after you leave, which was fine w/ us. They are also not offering breakfast right now, but instead you can ask them for a "breakfast bag". (Which was a small danish from the vending machine.) It looks like they might be doing some work inside, as some of the walls are torn apart in the hallways. There is a mall and are tons of chain stores and restaurants in the immediate area. (I recommend Mooney's at the Arnot Mall for the huge portions of delicious special Mac & Cheeses) Over all it was an acceptable place to stay, the front desk staff were very friendly, and it was worth what we paid for they stay!

Nice property overall, felt they were handling safety well in the midst of the pandemic, even though that removed some of the comfort. (No buffet breakfast - breakfast bags with yogurt and breakfast bar instead, no daily room cleanup)

Overall everything was great but he coffee pot was awful when you pore it spills all over. Also cable was bad real bad only was able to get 2 channels 😢.

I reserved this room months before the trip. I requested a handicap bathroom. Then the week before we arrived, I spoke with manager to check on the bathroom. He said he would make sure it had grab bars and a pull down shower. When we got there neither of these things were in either of our rooms. The bathroom was dirty, and the carpet was dirty. I was so disappointed! I feel I was told what I wanted to hear and no special effort was taken.

Convenient to Seneca lake, Watkins Glen state park

This is our go-to place for family visits. Always clean. Wish I'd known reservations required and only one hour per family pool time, but it worked out well in the long run. Nice touch to supply breakfast bags when buffet was not allowed due to Covid.
