Best Western Plus Waltham Boston

The hotel was conveniently located near Newton and well priced. Unfortunately, the first room they put me in had a bathroom that was dirty and a loud baby next door with thin walls in between. The next room they put me in looked clean but the wallpaper was bubbling and peeling near the ceiling and the room smelled musty. There was also no bathroom air vent which might be the reason for the musty smell since shower steam has nowhere to go. The pillows were awful and the free hit breakfast did exist due to Covid but this was not mentioned when booking.

Clean and comfortable and very reasonably priced. Conveniently located and easily accessible from the highway and quiet. Could not take advantage of the amenities due to COVID-19 restrictions.

IT WAS CLEAN, BUT DURING THE NIGHT WE REALIZE THAT IT WAS NO HEAT. IT WAS NOT OUR FIRST TIME AT THIS PLACE, so I knew how is heating system suppose work.room 405. I did not want to waist my time complaining at reception when I was checking out - it was few people in line already.

Check in at front desk could be more friendlier.

Tub did not drain. I called the front desk and they said they would call me back. Then the hotel phone in the room went dead. Not until a later when we went to the front desk, they offered to change our room. We changed rooms and then found and old pizza box above the microwave in the new room.

Looked like mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Front desk never told us of the covid changes so couldn’t get fresh towels and they only had bagged breakfasts which was fine but would’ve been nice to know upfront.

The room was clean to its appearance. But with Covid I washed every surface with bleach wipes and there were some nasty spots. There were stink bugs in the room and the 2room had a musty odor. The AC heat unit was soooo loud, we just turned the tv up louder! No one cleaned the room on our 2nd day, no clean towels, ran out of toilet paper and Kleenex. Continental breakfast was a paper bag of water an apple and a protein bar, disappointing. Coffee was awesome! Front desk staff were good.

It was really important for me to pick a place with free breakfast. This place did offer free breakfast which is why we chose it. However, our breakfasts were the same everyday and consisted of a brown paper bag and inside there was an apple, nature valley bar, a water bottle, and a blue very muffin. I can honestly say I did not like anything in the bag except the water and apple. Which Ofcourse wasn’t very filling. So this made an extra expense for us to go grab breakfast elsewhere. Which was exactly what we tried to avoid by booking a hotel with free breakfast. Other hotels our family members stayed in recently had take out trays and you told the staff member behind the glass what you wanted and you took the take out tray back to your room. They offered cereals, eggs, waffles a breakfast meat, yogurts, bengals, etc. So our paper bag of nasty food was a huge let down. I would have much rather had individual containers of cereal over what we got. No one cleaned our room or provided fresh towels our entire stay. It was labeled as a non-smoking hotel, yet the smell of weed consumed the entire hotel! When I asked to move rooms they said they were booked up but they would try to find the source of the weed smell. The smell was so strong and nauseating. The smell was the worst on our last night there. Ultimately we just had to “suck it up”. I just wasn’t over all pleased with this hotel. And more than likely will not be returning to this location in future trips to Waltham.

Very nice stay and quiet. Front desk women were not friendly and borderline rude. Didn’t explain the form being signed nor the deposit. Handed the paper and was told to sign it. Got attitude when asked about the deposit. Rooms were clean but don’t clean them while you’re out. Overall not bad and facility was very clean. Nice for weekend stay.

Clean, comfortable, good value. Some of the staff seemed a bit ambivalent / not service-focused. Disappointed that my rate included full breakfast, but all they give you is a to-go bag with a bottle of water, an apple, a packaged muffin, and granola bar. I get that this was due to COVID but don't advertise one thing and deliver something else. Also disappointed that the fitness room was closed. In the end, I'll give it 4 stars. It served its primary purpose.
