The Burn How Garden House Hotel

The staff were very friendly and accomodating during our stay. The room was comfortable and clean. It was very spacious. The rooms were very quiet and we were undisturbed by noise. There was tea and coffee making facilities as well as 2 TVs, hairdryer, iron, shampoo and soaps, and towels. The breakfast was very good, there was a lot of choice (cereal, fruit, juices, cooked breakfast including options suitable for vegetarians). There was a designated parking space. The location of the hotel was ideal, only a short (less than 10 minute) walk to the lake or to the high street.

Room was large but a little dated. We had room 14 in a block of 6 rooms You could hear the people moving about upstairs. Breakfast was excellent and staff very obliging Location excellent Overall a OK stay but thought a little pricy for the room

This was our second stay at Burn How and we were able to park our car just outside the courtyard room. The room was comfortable and two double beds. The staff were friendly and adhered to the Covid guidance. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the Lake and Bowness, and there are plenty of walks from here. The breakfast was excellent keeping in mind it was limited due to restrictions and only table service was allowed. We will happily come back to Burn How for another holiday to Bowness.

It was ok. The location for Bowness was very good just a 5 minute walk. Our room was a superior room but wasn’t worth the money. The room had plenty of space, bed was a bit lumpy and pillows a bit soft. The furniture was very outdated. We had a patio but table and chairs were very rusty so we couldn’t use them. We did have plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom was quite roomy but again outdated. The bath had bits that were glued together down the side and the shower head looked very old. The breakfast room was old fashioned but clean. It seemed to be one rule for one and one rule for another as far as wearing face masks in communal areas. The breakfast was ok but granola on yoghurt pots was very soft. We wouldn’t choose to stay again as we thought it just wasn’t value for money.

The staff was pleasant and the breakfast was good. Location is great. The property itself at minimum could use a good cleaning on the exterior. The rooms need to be refreshed and broken and worn items need to be replaced. Won’t stay again.

Nice hotel and very friendly staff. Very good breakfast with good choice - ask if not on the list as they may well have it eg wheatbix. Only minor downside room was a bit fusty on arrival and a bit dusty but beds comfy and good space. Parking can be a bit tight if you’ve a larger car - estate/suv etc.

The hotel is very nice throughout. The staff are all very warm, friendly and helpful. It was our first visit to this hotel and we will certainly be back.

Excellent traditionally English hotel and business. Very customer orientated , hardworking staff who seem to work very well together. Hotel is in a perfect location for Bowness , all local amenities can be reached by an easy stroll. Very good Breakfast !!
