You get what you pay for
Price was cheap so what I am about to write I guess is fair given It was the cheapest room in wakefield on that night. The check in experience made me feel like I was a criminal as you have to sign documents to say you won’t trash the room and you have to pay a fee in case you damage the room at all. The block of rooms themselves look like a council estate building and there is no sound proofing at all and could hear other rooms most of the night. There was also people smoking until late in the room next to me and the smell drifted into me room. The bed felt like it was going to fall apart just by sitting on it and there was dust and stains everywhere. There were dead insects in the bathroom and the room generally was very dated and run down. Given it was a budget hotel of course it won’t be the best hotel you have stayed in but even so it felt intimidating and dirty. I still have yet to receive back the £10 holding deposit they took from my card.
