Best time!

Great location! Room was great! Service was difficult given COVID (no food service at the moment). But there is a Starbucks right across the street for breakfast! many outlets for charging and room had a huge window with a nice big fan. Bathroom was very clean and new. Bus was walking distance!

Perfect location

Front desk was friendly. Its a no frills room but very clean. The location was perfect! Close to Powell station, mall and plenty food choices.

Don't be fooled this is a Dormitory not a Hotel

Upon initial arrival the hotel room was much smaller than anticipated from pictures posted on hotels.com There were no drawers to place clothes in, the closet was large enough for only a few items, there was no alarm clock, hairdryer, phone, coffee maker, refrigerator, or microwave. The window faced the adjacent building with no natural light. No luggage service was provided (even with the elevator out of service) and if your room was not ready upon arrival you would be charged $2/hr for the front desk to hold your luggage. Bed comfort was less than optimal as was the temperature control of the room. Even after placing a please provide service tag on our room door our room was not cleaned for 3 days. The only day housekeeping cleaned was the first day and upon our return from a day in the city there were NO towels or wash rags in our room. When we requested clean towels from the front desk in person we were met with rudeness, eye rolling, and a response of "Do you need them now?" For the lack of service provided by this establishment the cost should have been less than half of what was charged and they should be advertised as a dormitory or hostel not a hotel.

The cutest little hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here on valentine's day while exploring SF. From the decor, location, comfort, and cleanliness of the room-everything was great! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would gladly come back to the Bartlett Hotel & Guesthouse. Two thumbs up :)

Work on your customer service

Old school hotel. Somewhat clean but could be cleaner. TV's has about 6 working channels. local news only - no FOX or CNN. Attached brewery was a plus. Front desk service could have been better acting upon requests for simple things. (shower curtain, wash clothes, iron and ironing board). Over all not a bad stay but expected better.

Hardwood floors and open windows

I’m always around SoMa for business and have tried many hotels. The cool thing about Bartlett is that the rooms have no carpet and the windows open widely. This is such a plus because I really don’t understand how locals can live with closed windows, carpet floors and no fresh air.

Good Location & Price

The room was very clean. It was spartan, yet spacious. The location is great as is the price - given it’s location near Union Square & access to the Powell Street BART station. It is a simplistic hotel - not a Hilton or a Hyatt. Yet, given all factors, it’s great for those with a tight budget.

Exactly what I needed

While sparse, room was neat and clean. Shower was wonderful. Plenty of hot water. Close to everything downtown. Will stay again.

Parking is expensive. No Blow dryers in room. Elevator old and slow. Room is VERY plain. Good things are inexpensive, clean room, plenty of establishments close by. Chipolte, Food stores, Irish pub across the street, hotel is connected to bar that does have Great breakfast and Great service
