Over rated and overly priced hotel. Hotel staff need intense guest service training- most had a like it or lump it attitude and gave us misinformation on more than one occasion. We called to book dinner at the hotel and the staff member replied bluntly with some what do you want me to do?’. A week before our stay we called to ask if all the spa facilities were open inc. Sauna and steam room and were told they would be- they were closed when we arrived and there was no genuine apology about the wrong info given to us and no management came to speak to us about it despite being told they were ‘on their way’ to discuss. The rooms are very basic and need updating- completely overpriced! The spa was set up very strangely- had to go through the pub to get to the small pool area which at one point had over 20 people in it- not very covid secure! There was no actual spa reception, relaxation area and the treatment room was off the side of a run down conference room- very bizarre and not relaxing. Breakfast was awful, very minimal portions and no veggie breakfast advertised- veggie breakfast then came with some mystery spam like meat. We received some soy milk which was curdled and then replaced with almond milk. Overall, the staff and the rooms let this place down. Shawn the concierge however was lovely and welcoming. Wouldn’t stay here again and would not recommend to anybody.

I absolutely loved my stay at The Burnside Hotel and Spa! The service was impeccable and was made even more special when we managed to get a dinner reservation at Henrock which we had been trying to get into for three months! A massive thankyou to the concierge Shaun in particular as he made our stay even more enjoyable and memorable! Would definitely recommend!

Room was lovely, however bathroom had a odour of drains and room was far too hot, couldn’t manage to turn radiator off.

Good check in (MIA) staff, great concierge Shaun he was very friendly. The older bar man very friendly (grey hair). Originally booked room for the mother in law for our son’s wedding which had to be rearranged due to Covid. She didn’t go so we went as Grooms parents. The room was up graded to a double. Beautiful room very clean. Breakfast very nice but thought a bit slow. Check out good and the receptionist at check out was great at rearranging rooms for the wedding next year for us and the mother in law.

Very expensive and the view was so disappointing. Manager was very unhelpful.

Excellent room, service, food and facilities, one minor negative £12/day parking fee

We had a very pleasant stay here, beautiful hotel and gardens, couldn't use all facilities ie sauna, steam room under the current covid situation which is understandable, staff were really good with social distancing, food was very good although thought the breakfast was a tad expensive as the continental breakfast was not available. Car parking charges a bit steep too unless you book direct with the hotel, then it is free, bit unfair that if you use a booking agent you have to pay £12 per day. The consierge was a lovely gentleman, lots of good knowledge about the area.

Brilliant service from the minute we got there , room was lovely (we had the junior suite with hot tub). Plenty of room and the hottub was lovely. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice .... The staff go out there way to make the stay feel special

Lovely hotel, and staff were brilliant. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially in the bar area and breakfast area. They all were adhering to Covid guidelines and really making the best of an unusual situation. We stayed in a hot tub room, which was clean and had a fantastic view. Could’ve done with some room service menus but think these may have been removed due to Covid. Bar area was rather busy due to Eat Out to Help Out and I’m guessing more people were eating there than usual so I think they could’ve done with a couple more staff but other than that there were no complaints.
