Grand Riviera Princess - All Inclusive

I liked the look of the resort in general, very beautiful and clean, I did not like the lack of care and urgency with front desk staff though. Cleaning staff, food and bar staff were great. Front desk takes extremely too long to check in and check out, when I approached the desk with issues it seemed like nobody wanted to help and a manager was never available. I was supposed to receive a wristband to access the beach upon checking in Monday and never did nor had any knowledge of needing one. I went to the beach everyday of my stay without one until Thursday my last day they made me leave the beach saying I have no wristband and someone even threatened to have security remove me, but a Spanish person also did not have one on, the same guy spoke to him but in a much nicer tone and did not make him leave the beach even after telling him a wrist band is needed. At that point I had no desire to even see the beach again before leaving because there’s no way I was there with no wrist band each day and on the very last day someone finally says something. I also never received my free spa service. I was expecting that to be some kind of short massage and all they would offer me was water aerobics. That is not a spa service in my eyes. I also approached the front desk and the excursion staff multiple times looking to receive help contacting a merchant, no one was helpful at all so I ended up going back to my room to cry in disbelief until leaving the resort yesterday.

Overall the property was nice but the food was HORRIBLE. All the buffets had the same thing but food was not good at all. No flavor or seasoning, everything cold. This was so disappointing:/ The restaurants where you had to make a reservation for were a tiny bit better but still not amazing. You also didn’t get many options for reservations slots. We had dinner at 9:30 in the evening… Also, the pools seemed to close so early like at 6…and I don’t believe I was given anything “VIP”related as my package claimed. I love Mexico but this really put a damper on my vacation this year.

Beautiful, however the lack of elevators and lighting in the hallways at night was a little upsetting. WiFi was terrible.

Worn out resort!!

Worn out resort! Rooms are in need of major updating! We booked at Grand Riviera side and were put in Grand Sunset side as supposed upgrade! Not! Fridge was empty and didn’t work! Asked for King bed and were put in room with two doubles pushed together and sheets weren’t even on bed properly! Tried to call to request new room, phone unplugged! Had to divide beds to find plug in! On and on it went! Called down several times and waited over 2 hours in room waiting to hear back! Finally told no rooms available! Someone would call in morning! I had to call! They wanted us out of our room by noon but new one not ready til 3:30 in Princess side! I said no! I think you can make an exception and we ll move when new room ready! New room had king bed and fridge worked but not a whole lot better! Grounds are beautiful and well kept but resort is understaffed! Food not great! We were completing our extended vacation and thought it would be a nice to enjoy last few days at all inclusive but we were thoroughly disappointed! 😞 Had been to resort few years prior but it has definitely gone down hill! Have to lineup for everything! Would not return!

Check in was a mess. Everything was closed—casino, etc. You couldn’t get reservations for dinner the entire time except at the buffet which was not impressive. Rooms were not clean. Staff outside of check in was always nice but very limited. They work on tips, so the more you tip them, the more you see them. It is a very outdated place in need of an overhaul. 5 stars? Maybe many years ago but not now.

This hotel Was very disappointing. Do not waste your money here. The whole place is run down. Our room was dirty. Out outdoor shower was disgusting. Rain come inside our room and flooded the living area. We didn’t have hot water two days. Coffee maker broken. Out of 5 days we were given wash cloths in our room only one day. The air conditioner in our room never worked! The people running things speak terrible English so very hard to communicate. Food at this all Inclusive is awful! Very small Very crowded beach.. many, many complaints. Definitely not worth your time and money.

BRUTAL! DO NOT ENTER

It was awful. So terrible I tried to leave halfway through my stay. We waited TWO hours in line to check in. I asked why there were no staff available, apparently when 200 guests are trying to check in they like to have "staff meetings". After being overcharged in the wrong currency we were brought to the wrong room.. and then were locked out of our room multiple times. After days of horrible service and being locked out of my room (while menstruating and not being able to shower or eat for hours on end, I ended up in tears in the lobby trying to check out.. only to be laughed at by Angel, the "Manager". He told me to go sit down, have a drink and chill out for twenty minutes before I try and talk to him again. I have never in my life been treated so poorly. I wanted to leave. I felt humiliated and bullied. The following day there were more problems and I couldn't get into my room. Again I was upset and had to ask him more than fives times "Why are you laughing? this is how you treat your guests?!? He told me I was trying to get free things... All I wanted was a shower and eat dinner, which was meant to be included in all inclusive. I missed dinner two nights because I was staying in line in the lobby trying to get into my room. The hotel told me I couldn't check out to leave two nights early and I had to call hotel.com..then hotels.com told me I could have left but the hotel should have let me.
