Art Hotel Medellín

Great little hotel, friendly staff and amazing Colombian breakfasts.

It has a great terrace. The restaurants are really good. The front desk guy ended up charging me more than what Expedia was showing.

Stayed here before and it was nice because they had a wine bar on the lower level. Now, the food is terrible and no wine bar. Rooms are terrible and old and the sheets are not changed daily. Will not return.

The Art Hotel is at a good location, just 1 block from bars and nightclubs. The staff was also friendly and helpful. The room I stayed at was large but closet space was very limited. The hotel safe did not work properly as I was not able to open it with the same 4 digit pin. The room was not sound proof.

Pros: the room was pretty nice, and the location was good. The breakfast was pretty good, and was all you could eat. Cons: A high level of dishonesty/sneakiness.. I booked a two person room and when I arrived they said there would be an additional cost since there was a second person in the room. The cost was almost double the price I had already paid online. I said the hotel wasn't worth that price, and said I'd just go to another hotel, but they said they wouldn't refund any of my money. We talked for a long time and they finally lowered the second person price, and I was forced into staying there. I found this extremely dishonest, since it didn't mention that on the website, and I had already paid for a two-person room. On top of that, it was like the manager hadn't conveyed the message to other workers, because I'd walk past (with the other person), and they'd harass me saying that they hoped I knew I'd have to pay more since there were two of us. I'd have to explain that I had already talked about it with the manager on the first day. The second thing was that they give you a door card for your room, but they already know that none of the key cards work. So you have to ask someone to open the door for you each time, and somehow *their* key card works. It seemed weird, and reading reviews I see that problem has gone on a while, but they still do this pretending thing that the card reader is just acting up right then. Anyway, the overall vibe was shady and sneaky.

All good rooms need a bit of maintanence

Too noisy, and air conditioner takes more than 4 hours, to have the room at a nice temperature.

Nice architecture, rooftop and vibe. However, not nice to actually sleep there, the music from reception is loud until 1:30am and the structure of the building which has a hollow center with balconies just carries the music everywhere. Also, they let people in to have a last drink after they come out of nearby bars/clubs. It was 4am and there was a group of 5 friends sharing a bottle and talking very loudly, again all the noise is just carried to the rooms. Not recommend staying for the night, I do recommend visiting the rooftop

Art installations and roof top bar are good. But the reception we received was unwelcoming and unhelpful. The rooms had faulty locks, so we couldn't even have our own key cards. instead we had to keep going to reception every time we wanted to get in our room, to ask someone to go up with us and let us in - wasting our time and making us feel like children.
