Lost Guest House Stirling

Perfect location, about 10 mins walk from station and in the city centre. Room was good size, as was the bathroom. Was quiet at night and the bed was comfy. Staff were friendly and added security was the front door locked at all times. Room had all the basic, TV, tea/coffee, free wifi which worked well. Would definitely stay again.

Cozy, spotlessly clean, central to Stirling with easy parking. Excellent value.

Beds were okay and the bedroom was really big. However, the shower was temperamental (boiling hot, freezing cold, boiling hot again!) and with not enough pressure. The bedroom was warm as it had a big radiator; however, the radiator in the bathroom was tiny and didn't heat up the bathroom enough. No social distancing observed in the building: no enforcement of wearing masks in public areas, and at breakfast, everyone would go make their own tea at the tea station or toast their own sandwich bread (sharing the bottle of milk or sandwich bag). Great location, close to everwhere within walking distance.

My advice would be to carefully read the wordings of the other reviews of this establishment and don’t trust the photos. The scores out of 10 are certainly not representative of the described experiences of many of the guests! For our part, the rooms were unacceptably poor. So much so that we had booked a different hotel and checked out from OYO within 30 minutes of checking in, with no concern for the lost fee. The guest information sheet in our room was covered in tea/coffee stains, the wall had a mysterious stain, and there were crumbs all over the floor. In both rooms, the beds were very uncomfortable on one side(?!) as the mattresses were broken, the other furniture shabby and in poor condition, and the room generally unclean. Perhaps we were unlucky, perhaps this was a result of the Covid pandemic and difficulty of managing staff - especially for cleaning - but that said, given current guidelines one would hope for greater hygiene rather than lesser. Would not recommend

It was fine. Finding the lost guesthouse was a non-trivial task. The AA didn’t find it any easier. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

I had to doa double take here. This used to be Called The Terraces and is where, 24 years ago, we held our wedding reception. The place was clean with a faint smell of disinfection which re Covid 19 is very reassuring. Lovely location, nice view ensuite shower. Very relaxing and welcoming. We had just come from somewhere expensive and filthy which we left early to come here. Such a welcome relief .
