La Pedrera Small Hotel & Spa

Small hotel with a 30 bungalow type rooms with a spectacular view of the sea. Less than 10 mins walk to Joao Fernandes beach. Very safe area surrounded by exclusive homes and hotels. Breakfast and restaurant dining is OK. If you use the spa for massage opt for Cecilia. Pretty organized staff and R$6 Uber ride to Rua das Pedras

Close to the beach! Great breakfast in the mornings and with a beautiful view. Great pools and friendly staff. Only con was mosquitoes but they offered bug repellent.

I'm really happy I went with this Pousada (small hotel) while in Buzios! The view and pool area are stunning! The staff was really nice and accommodating. Very convenient that there is a small spa onsite as well. Here are some pros&cons/things to consider: 1. If you are reading this review in English and do not speak Portuguese, note that only some staff speak English. You can always get by if you try and communicate-and some staff speak Spanish if that helps. 2. The views are amazing and you can easily stay all day at the pool. Note that I find in hot countries the jacuzzis don't tend to be very hot-it's just a thing you have to be ready for :) There is an interesting wet sauna connected to one of the pools--but you have to ask them to turn it on--and then it is really hot! 3. The location I believe all in all is great--it is not far from the main st. rua das pedras, and the Joao Fernandes beach. It is a real easy walk down the hill, but not so fun up--so either be ready to catch an uber back up, or get ready for a glutes workout. 4. There are parts of the hotel that show a bit of wear and tear, including the pool area, but nothing that is a deal breaker. They upgraded me to a bigger room/better view without me asking. The room was big, bed comfortable, and water was hot! All in all, a beautiful little retreat and a great value for the money in Buzios.

A nice hotel in a great location with terrific views. Breakfast and pool area are great, but not able to cope with too many people. Get there early! The rooms are OK. We had a double and 2 singles crammed in, which made it feel lest spacious.

The hotel is pretty spectacular: The setting is gorgeous, the rooms are huge and beautifully designed without being self-conscious, Breakfast is amazing, the amenities (pool, spa, etc.) have gorgeous views, as do the rooms. What stands out, though, is the exceptional service: everyone is incredibly attentive, responsive to any concerns, and genuinely personable. One shouldn’t single out favorites, but some people should be mentioned by name: Marcia, William, Eduardo, Silvio, Ana Carolina— and the entire team. I would stay here over and over again. Two minor hiccups: the shower has a small shower head (the only thing that feels not up to the luxury of the place) and I was never able to get very hot water. The same is true for the Jacuzzi and the spa. But those are minor things that can be easily corrected.

Gostei muito do Hotel La Pedrera! Quartos amplos e confortáveis, café da manhã gostoso, staff atencioso, e um Spa fantástico. Fizemos uma massagem seguido de um banho de Jacuzzi que estava ótimo. O estacionamento é gratuito, quando não tem vaga no principal, tem vagas na parte de baixo sem problemas. Piscina ótima, bem ampla, e com uma parte aquecida também. Quarto com espaço suficiente pro casal, frigobar, etc. Pontos que podem melhorar: Aumentar o numero de pessoas do staff. O pessoal é super dedicado, mas as vezes não da conta de fazer tudo. Por vezes, a mesma pessoa que estava servindo frios no café da manhã, tinha que parar para fazer o check in de algum hóspede. O café servido no café da manhã é muito, mas muito ruim. Não gosto de fazer uma crítica assim sem estar 100% certo, mas nesse caso de fato o café era muito ruim, de uma máquina. Seria muito melhor que fizessem um café passado e colocassem numa garrafa térmica, estaria perfeito. O banheiro do quarto também poderia ser mais iluminado. Criticas essas construtivas, que nada desabonam a excelente estadia que tivemos. Obrigado a todos!
