Marilu's Bed and Breakfast

Marilu the owner is fantastic! She has so much information about Santiago and tours of the area. She is quite the resource for how to get around the city and general information of sites to see. She is also very accomodating toward guests staying there. Super helpful in arranging transportation. The location is also excellent and very easy to get to from the airport. Lots of popular tourist areas are within walking area. The one big problem I had was Santiago streets are very frequently without signs so a good idea would be to get other landmarks to know your on the right street. Fire Station right close serves a good lunch at very good price Mon-Fri. plus you can take it away for later eating.

Only stayed for one night but Marilu was so helpful, she gave us lots of great tips on where to go and helped book transport etc. Good location, close to metro on a quiet street. Basic but has everything you need, it's clean and great value for money.

Very happy with Marilu. She was very accommodating when our plans changed because of the protests. Her place is within easy walking distance of plenty of shops and restaurants.

Marilus is great value for the price and it was very clean, quiet, in a safe location, and with plenty of hot water. Marilu offers so much valuable traveler advice and help that it would rival any concierge at at 5-star hotel. Highly recommended!

Good choice for being in a great, convenient neighbourhood to explore Santiago. Owner was super helpful and kind. Nice breakfast: eggs, bread, cheese/ham, sweets.

We stayed for 3 nights (two separate occasions) and were very pleased. Breakfast was really good (best we had in Chile) and we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome. Marilu let us store our bags before check-in and prepared our breakfast early on our last morning. She speaks English and can help you with directions or sightseeing. Metro station Salvador on the red line is about a 5 minute walk and there are many cafes and stores within walking distance. The neighborhood is very safe and a good base to explore Santiago. Very happy we chose to stay here. As budget travelers it was a great value and fit our needs perfectly.

Marilu is a wonderful hostess who works hard to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable.

Spartan room. Clean with comfortable bed. No amenities. Simple breakfast. Service was great with lots of personal help. Location was great. Will re-book.

Marilu is very friendly and knowledgeable. She helped us with bookings and organized everything perfectly. The location is safe and within walking distance of Bellavista and Pio Nono, and the Funicular to the top of the hill overlooking the city.

The rooms are in the apartment that Marilu lives in and are quiet and clean, have cable tv and a fan, and are secure. The shower's water pressure is good and the water is hot. Wifi is good. The neighborhood is quiet with a 24/7 bodega/gas station and several restaurants nearby, and most importantly is close to Avenida Providencia and the Salvador metro stop. But the best reason to stay here is Marilu herself. She is a gem! She is so very friendly and helpful. For example, she not only knew the locations of all the money exchange places but also knew when they all closed. She will help you plan your days if you need it, and can speak both Spanish and English and is patient enough to help you with both. There are no frills here but I think that if you are travelling alone and want to feel safe, need help planning your day trips, or want someone nice around to help with questions and conversations in English then this is the place for you.
