The location and architectural significance of the building. The staff was FAR from rude but did not seem willing to extend themselfs or anticipate a guests needs. I say that compared to other hostel experiences . Being from the US, certai ly Trumps belligerence toward the rest of the world could be a factor. I would just hope the world would acknowledge that he lost the popular vote so the majority of Americans have NEVER supported him and that has only grown. Perhaps that has nothi g to do with my experience but thought it worth mentioning. I would stay their again

The walk to the hostel from the station is a long road completely paved with cobble. Don't bring a heavy suitcase. The staff was extremely helpful! The hostel is beautiful & across from a miradouro. Unfortunately when I was there, all the sangria stands there were closed.

Great views just across the road of the sea and the castle. Bus stop and taxis outside. Individual place catering for travellers who go for the hostel and the better off in the suites which have balconies and en- suites. Closest I've seen to the Chelsea Hotel in New York for the artistic, slightly eccentric decor. Recommended.

It was a nice hostel and there was a kitchen area too. It needs some more supplies especially when there are a lot of people in the hostel. The general area of the hostel always had a smell of bathroom which is unpleasant to come back from after a long day. I would suggest an air freshener in all bathrooms and one in the hallway too. The people working at the hostel were very nice and helpful but the people that stayed with us in the hostel room thought it was their house and would do whatever they wanted at all hours which is really annoying. I think there should be an age limit for the hostel as well because when older people of 55+ stay in the hostel with you for New Year's Eve and all they want to do is sleep, it can be annoying for everyone. Breakfast hours vary a lot even though they tell you that it is from 7:30-10:30. The people start cleaning up at 10:15 and they also do not restock coffee or other supplies. Once they are gone, they are gone. Also I think the hallways should have motion sensor lights because they are always on which is wasteful and unnecessary throughout the day and night. Oddly enough though the room lights only stay on for about three mins and then shut off. They are also not bright and extremely pointless to have. Good thing there are bed side lights which are super bright. But if you have the very top bunk like I did then you are out of luck and have to use your phone all the time. We had the room right above the bar which blasts music until 1am.

Lovely place. Would recommend. The price is great for what you get.
