1801 First Luxury Inn

Owners, Blair and Carrie were the sweetest. Helped us with a reservation at ZD Winery and it was wonderful. Staff was friendly, breakfasts were amazing and what a treat to have a “wine hour” with cheese every night. Location was excellent. Short stroll into town and all the great restaurants. Thank you for a lovely time.

Overall, this was a decent place to stay. On the plus side, it was clean, there were DVDs available for use, the location was good, and things were generally as advertised. Minor issues: the locks seemed lacking, and maybe I'm the only one who cares about this, but I didn't feel fully secure with just one seemingly flimsy lock on the doors. There were a lot of windows, which is good for light, but the window above the front door looked directly into a hallway window in the next building, which made us feel exposed - we hung a towel over the window for privacy. A bigger issue we had was with the person who checked us in and showed us around (not the owner, but the property manager). Initially she seemed really nice, but when we needed help figuring out the phone and went to ask her for help in person (we had called the number several times and weren't sure the phone was working correctly), things got a little weird. I won't rehash every part of the exchange here, but we perceived her as being a little rude (for example, when I asked how to call her, she replied, "I don't know, I've never called myself"). We're pretty casual, unpicky people, and we were in Napa just for one night as a quick little getaway while my parents watched our toddler. This trip wasn't a big deal, and we didn't need to be doted on or anything like that. But when we were paying for a nice experience only to feel weird and be treated rudely, it was a bummer. We won't be staying here again.

Our stay was amazing! Perfect for a weekend girls trip! Walking distance to shops and restaurants, breakfast was wonderful and added wine tasting was lovely! Thank you to the 1801 “innkeepers” for making us feel at home.

Great location, awesome staff and a very good breakfast

This was our first visit to a Bed and Breakfast. After the amazing experience at 1801 First Luxury Inn, the bar has been set very high. From being greeted on the front steps by the owner, to the fun afternoon wine reception, to the amazing breakfast, everything was absolutely wonderful.
