Ark Hotel Hiroshima Eki Minami - ROUTE-INN HOTELS -

Hotel was tired and in need of a makeover Room was smokey even though it was meant to be a no smoking one

Hotel was ok for a couple of nights. A 7 min walk from the train station, and convenient for the tram lines. Shuttle bus was available for departure. Breakfast was good. Decor needs a bit of upgrading.

This hotel is within 10 minutes walk from Hiroshima rail station. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and tourist sites. Generally a very clean hotel, super friendly staff. Buffet breakfast was more like lunch, enough choice in food and drinks Left luggage available.

We enjoyed our stay. I wished we had a map to get to our hotel. It will be very helpful if there were more English directions on their web site. I recommend this hotel and definitely be our first choice of hotels in Hiroshima. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had a large selection of entrees.

This stay was really disappointing. The pictures didn’t line up well and compared to everywhere else we’ve been in Japan, the hotel staff was very rude. We asked to check out late because we got in to the hotel at midnight and they 100% said that was okay. Even though they do mention an extra charge for doing so, they said they would waive it. Then upon check out it was new staff who tried to charge us 50 dollars for checking out an hour late (which by the way their check out time is 10am...never seen that early of a check out before). We had to get somewhat angry because they were being so aggressive to us which was upsetting and eventually they just told us to leave. I also have to mention if you’re not comfortable with a rock hard bed, so not stay here. It’s a literal brick.

It was in a great location close to Hiroshima station, the peace memorial, shopping & food. The main issue we had was with the beds. It was like sleeping on a slab ef concrete. So our sleep was not very good. The hotel is clean & everything you need is there despite it being quite dated looking. The prices we paid was good but I would have paid more to have a better mattress.

The Onsen was wonderful on level 10 overlooking the city.

Hotel located very conveniently , but its very old and needs a serious refurbishment.

Hotel is little outdated. Breakfast is really good and lots to do in Hiroshima!

First, they gave me a room with no ventilation at all. Window impossible to open, AC NOT WORKING, and room looks very outdated, seems like a dorm room without any repair for last 30 years. So, I started to insist to give me another room. After debates they agreed to upgrade my room and CHARGED me a difference, which is not good. Before I was staying in different hotels, if they can’t provide same level room in working conditions, apparently they should upgrade it free of charge. Anyway...Thegood thing in this hotel - breakfast! OMG! Really good. And, they have on 10 floor like sauna and jacuzzi. They call it Onsen. Pretty cool. And free of charge. So, once again, if you gonna get a room there, make sure it’s in main building, not in annexed. ✌️
