This "grand" complex proved to be an excellent one-night conclusion to our month-long stay in CR! The setting, service and security exceeded usual urban-San Jose expectations. And its location just a few kilometers from the major airport made it quite convenient as a preparation point the night before air travel. The food tasted quite good, with very reasonable pricing; eating in the open-air restaurant was more than "lovely." And the pool and colorful grounds were well maintained. The huge trees and nearby river cooled the "compound" with breezes, so that the lack of air conditioning wasn't a major factor. However, planes taking off from the nearby airport made us question at times whether to keep balcony doors open or closed. This unique facility has been termed "an oasis" by many, including those we met from several countries. The delightful owner-manager couple have dedicated themselves to making anyone's stay an enjoyable experience. With this hotel's setting and only eight rooms, consider making your reservations far in advance.

The grounds are beautiful, it was close to the airport, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed it. It was the perfect spot for us to rest prior to our early flight home.

This is a lovely place. It was more "in the city" than we anticipated from the name. Still, it's a lovely large property, very beautiful. We arrived very late due to a flight delay. The night security guy(?) met us, but spoke no English and my poor Spanish wasn't understood by him. Nevertheless, we he knew our room, helped us carry our heavy bags upstairs (would have been good to know we were on the 2nd floor, no elevator), and booked us in for breakfast. He left before we could tip him. The room was spacious and comfortable, but noisy due to being so close to the airport. I was woken frequently during the night by the sounds of planes taking off. Breakfast was fabulous! Large, Costa Rican typical breakfast, and excellent service. We'd go back, but I'd bring earplugs.

Nice place to overnight before a flight. Pretty grounds, friendly staff. No AC which was not an issue. A bit of plane noise since it is close to a runway.

10 minutes from SJO. Verry green and relaxing place, own balcony.

We arrived very late due to weather, the hotel was very accommodating. When we arrived they showed us to our room right away. The rooms were clean, we got served breakfast in the morning which was great and then we had to leave. If you want to be close to the airport, definitely stay here. Its safe and everyoine is super friendly.

We stayed here because it was close to the airport. The airport noise was not a problem. The property itself is nice, staff was basically indifferent.

It was almost midnight and I had to wait almost 40 minutes for the staff to open the gate to the hotel. Before I left the hotel, I mentioned the staff about my late arrival and they fail to pass the information to the gate keeper. There is no intercom or a reception phone number listed at the gate to prevent situations like this.

When we called from the airport for shuttle pick up, they informed us they had relocated us to a different hotel — much further from the airport. We made our reservation 3-4 months earlier and they made no attempt to contact us ahead of time via email. Just canceled us and we’re waiting to tell us when we showed up.
