Suite was amazing with an awesome view of the Caldera. Fortunate to see the sunset due to clear skies. The room was clean and bottled water is provided. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast on the balcony was a good experience as well and we will definitely want to come back here if we had the chance. Location wise, it is walking distance to Firostefani Bus Stop which brings you to Main Fira Bus Station.

Not what it’s cracked up to be

We booked this place under false pretences that it was going to be “luxurious” and “modern” as advertised on their website. This hotel is also incorrectly advertised on Hotels.com as 5 star - it’s advertised elsewhere as 4 star. The view is absolutely stunning however our room was in desperate need of a good clean and maintenance. There was a thick layer of dust in between the wooden bed head, lots of mould on the vanity, loose faucet, rusty fixtures and chipped paint. The toilet doesn’t flush properly (think this is an issue on the whole island) but there was a nasty surprise waiting for us in the toilet bowl from the previous person’s usage. I’m amazed by the great ratings. Perhaps our room wasn’t a fair representation of the other rooms. The hotel could be something special with a little work but we were disappointed. It wasn’t what we expected.

Great View and Relaxing Experience

Santorini is beautiful to stay. Due to off season travel in November, almost everything is closed. Fortunately, we we were provided an online food purchase link Obelix.gr with excellent Greek food and paid for our meals via credit card with free delivery everyday. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Too bad the weather didn’t permit a swim in their great pool. I believe a vacation during warmer season will make this vacation experience much more pleasant. We stay in Love Room which is plenty for a family of four or even five. The room is facing west so you will see the beautiful sunset without any obstruction. If you book around full moon period, you will be able to see the full moon as well. The hotel provided free breakfast during our stay which has a great selection to choose from. We were able to walk from the hotel to Oia via the famous and beautiful trail for 4 hours and returning by taking the bus which only cost 1.8 euro per person.

Great breakfast every morning, staff washed and folded our laundry. Best views on the island. EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT WILL DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN

On arrival, the staff was really nice. They carried our luggage down the steep stairs which we really appreciated! They gave us unlimited free water. The only complaint I have is the shower room smells and that could be because of poor ventilation and humidity. Also I had book a transfer specifically for the morning of departure back the airport because I knew it was going to be so early and I did not want to take a risk in trying to call a taxi. My transfer did not show up so we had to carry our luggage all the way to Fira, I called about 10 transfer and taxi service and finally in Fira one service was able to take us just in time for our flight. It was a very stressful situation for us especially in a foreign country.

We stayed at Alta Vista Suites for 7 nights for our honeymoon and stayed in the honeymoon suite (senses) which was a cave room. What a superb hotel it was and the staff couldn’t do more for you, they really were excellent. Minor point would be that in our particular room only had a mirror in the bathroom, a full length mirror in the bedroom would be really beneficial. Highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again if we went back to Santoroni!
