An ok choice with satisfactory cost
The hotel is ideally situated next to Taipei Dongmen Metro Station (exits 8 and 7) and it is near an area full of convenient stores, restaurants, cafés and various other shops (most of them are available until late and some of them are in operation 24h/day). By taking the metro, you can be quickly transferred outside various main attractions (e.g. C.K.S. Memorial, Longshan Temple, Taipei 101 etc). For sure, its location is one of the very strong points as well as its satisfactory rates. Cleanliness is another strong point, whilst its breakfast is satisfactory without being special. The whole hotel is considered "no smoking" area, except one small part near its entrance. Taxi for international airport can be arranged at the reception (cost 1100 NTD regardless of day/night calling time). Overall it can be considered as a "convenient choice". However, there are some negative aspects that should be considered prior booking, such as: a) Space of the room is very small (there was not even a closet for clothes but hangers) and in some cases (like mine) there was not even a window b) 1 elevator serves the whole building c) The level of services requires some upgrade (For 2 days I asked for weak up calls at 0500 and 0400 am respectively in order to catch an excursion and a flight and the hotel failed both of them) d) Reception is on 3rd floor and the entrance is from a small alley. Thus, practically there is no lobby/reception area/waiting area. e) It appears frequently overcrowded.
