Good, But Not Great. Lovely Staff
Overall, a good hotel but not a 10/10. I’d say closer to 7/10. Let me first say this, the staff is super friendly and I could not have been happier with the people there, they’re fantastic. However, some of the nit-picky, “little things” we found a bit lackluster: the sheets and bedding aren’t soft, the mattresses are hard. The reservation system for food and restaurants leaves a lot to be desired, and room service was always a 60+ minute wait. There was no safe in our room, and we never received one after asking for one. There was no screen door on our patio, so we couldn’t sleep with the door open to hear the ocean. One elevator was down the whole time, so we used the stairs quite a bit. The drinks were a bit watery and not as great as a similar all-inclusive we stayed at in Jamaica. The ATM’s were frequently not working, so it was hard to get cash. There are a ton of kids, and almost zero nightlife options for adults. The water beyond 100ft is littered with sea urchins, and there’s no buoy signage warning you that you’re entering a dangerous area. There are a couple signs on the stairs leading to the beach absolving the hotel from any liability from beach/water accidents, but there need to be signs in the water…it’s very easy to get hurt in their water, and we did. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but the hotel certainly had some opportunities to bring it up to the level of a 4-5 star Hilton. Again though, lovely staff that was super friendly. Not their fault, necessarily.
