Im a frequent traveler to Xi'an and have stayed in many of the hotels in the City, including the W and Shangri-la, which are nice, cookie-cutter-what-you-would-expect-from-a-hotel kind-of places. However, the Impression Hotel was by far the best I have stayed in and is the only one I will be recommending to anyone. The hotel is built in the style of a Chinese Courtyard home, with beautiful stone work and furnished with Traditional Chinese Style Furniture. The Location is South East of the walled city on the old Tang Palace Lakes. The staff does not speak English and I did all my communication using google translate and WeChat, with zero problems. I recommend downloading and setting up WeChat in advance, the manager will help you lear how to use it for translation, which is easy. They even arranged an airport car to pick me up after I emailed them (using google translate.) which cost 120Yuan payable to the driver directly. The location is quiet, peaceful, relaxing. a five minute walk to 2 different malls, 10 min walk to the Metro, which takes you into the walled city within 25 minutes (including train changes for 3 Yuan) or they will call a taxi for you whenever needed. Safe, affluent part of the city. Fantastic, Amazing Staff. I cannot recommend this place enough. Breakfast was brought into our room in the morning and served on trays. Bathrooms are modern with heated seats, showers and bathtubs. All rooms have Courtyard seating, some private seating.
