Everything was fine until Alex swindled is into doing a horseback ride... & I severely bruised my ribs.
Not 10 feet from where we ate breakfast we got onto three horses. FULL of ticks. Full meaning 50-80 ticks on each mane of the horse. They were falling off and hitting my feet as we rode.. keep in mind these horses live right next to the ‘restaurant’ where they served us breakfast.
After being thrown off the horse full trot.......... Alex said ‘it must’ve been the rider, not the horse’. The guide should not have been so far away my horse felt the need to go into a full speed run to get back to where we could see the group. The saddle was not on tightly either. I was left behind over a dozen times because my horse refused to stop eating.
I would try to guide him back to the path and he would stomp and jerk his head back down to eat. When I would finally get him to go, he would lightly run till we caught up (which on its own was scary and not fun but I was scared to be so far away from the group in an isolated part of the jungle).
We were promised a view of Arenal volcano the entire trip... we never saw it once.
This was day two of our 14 day trip and I’ve been in so much pain every night I can not sleep. I can not breathe, cough or laugh without being in immense pain.
The wound on my arm is so bad that I can not get into the ocean, use bug spray, take a shower or sleep without being in pain. Charged us full price $90 while tears rolled down my cheek.
